Bender said Mark Redwine allowed investigators to look through his house on County Road 500 on other occasions.
But the meticulous nature of the search today required a search warrant, Bender said.

In an interview with The Durango Herald on Saturday, a few of Dylans friends said he had agreed to meet them in the early morning Nov. 19, but the meeting never took place.
I'm not trying to make inferences of guilt here, but if the police required a search warrant, then the father did not give permission for them to search. A warrant is not needed unless the property owner refuses a search. Also, if LE were able to obtain a warrant, then they had sufficient probable cause to get the warrant signed. I'm curious to know what that probable cause was.
