I agree with you. All the consultants I have worked with from different companies had to have their payroll and expense data turned in first thing on Monday morning. Some weeks end on Sunday and some on Saturday for payroll purposes.
I have always considered that if Dylan stayed up until 4 a.m., then had the plane rides to Durango, he was probably sleepy early (like by 10 pm and didn't want to get up as early as Mark was leaving). When Dylan was texting his friend, I'm sure he was excited and agreed to the 6:30 a.m. time, but when 6:30 rolled around, it may have been to hard to get up that early. IIRC, even at his home with his Mom, he got completely dressed for school the next morning before he went to bed at night, so he obviously was not an early morning person.
Then, I also remember that Dylan told his Mom he was dizzy and not feeling well. So, I still consider it a possibility he expired during the night, so maybe he didn't respond to Mark although Mark thought he acknowledged him the next morning. However, considering Mark's closeness with this child, I do think he would have called 911 when he got home from his errands if this had been the case.
He told his friend he was dizzy. It's in the text messages.
