Dylan Redwine Case Discussion Thread/Dylan's Remains Found, #2

LE will not make an arrest in this case at this point unless they feel that they can get a conviction. I don't think that they have enough evidence to make an arrest at this point for that very reason.

I sure hope that they are trying to find all that they can from that mountain.

Totally agree.

They haven't made any arrests yet, so either they don't have a POI or they don't have enough evidence for an arrest. Either way, this case has not moved forward and nothing new has been released to lead us in a specific direction solidly. IMO.

I disagree. This case HAS moved forward because they found the remains and some of the clothing. That is a big step forward, imo.

And they most definitely have a POI. Mark, himself, admits that he is at the top of their list. They may not have everything they need to make an arrest, but they are gettinvg closer every day, imo.

The whole child support thing ... I've listened to most all of the radio shows ... And have been reading links like a loon!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this.
My recollection is Mark made ONE child support payment to Elaine, on the very day Dylan went missing.
Up until whatever interview that was, iirc it was 6-7 months after Dylan went missing... He hadn't made another.... so he made ONE payment the entire time Dylan was missing.

How does Mark explain that? Anyone hear him address that?

Another huge red flag!

If he was drugged, then it happened in CS or on the plane because he said his head felt ' weird' iirc when he got off the plane. MR did not cause that feeling.

That's what I was talking about and someone asked for a link. I didn't have the link readily available, but I am glad you remember it too. After all these threads, the news articles, the official family pages, and the assignment I am working on virtually, everything is starting to run together.

That's my problem. Any one thing, all by itself, is no big deal. But there are just too many issues to be a freaky coincidental set of circumstances.

Even Marks comments made to his older son while the two were searching that deserted road, on the mountain, Dylan was found on...BEFORE he was found .....makes my hair stand on end. Mark allegedly said to his older son (by another mother) that searching there was stupid and they stopped. In the same interview he says every rock and stump should be looked under....which is it Mark?

Btw he denies saying that to his son. His son allegedly told Elaine who brought it up on the radio show...this was...again...before he was found.

All IMO

For some reason, I thought he and his son were going to search on the east side of Middle Mountain. I have to agree that even if he was hiking, Dylan would never have entered Middle Mountain from the east side of the mountain.

Mark didn't have a surveillance camera or any type of security system set up in or around his home when Dylan came in November and because he is gone for extended periods of time, I find this odd and suspicious.

I actually do not find that suspicious. To me, his place appears to be a mancave.

Heading to bed. Good night folks.

Hoping for another big break and an arrest .... Like tomorrow

I've read that the process of decomposition begins immediately upon a person death, but I have not found a source of information that gives an exact time that must pass before a HRD dog can make a positive alert for the scent of human decompostion.

I'm not sure if HRD dogs where used to search Mark's home and vehicles but I hope that they where.

MOO.

I remember seeing a confirmation of that fact when Drew Peterson's last wife disappeared. Apparently the dogs can alert if the body is there for only a minute or two.

How would anyone know if Drew Peterson's last wife only stayed in one area for a minute or two after she died?

I do because Mark lives in an isolated area.

I have relatives who live in isolated areas. They leave their doors unlocked, keys in the car. It drives me crazy, but they haven't listened to my little talks about this in 20 years. I think it is just a rural thing.

There is also the possibility that Mark never tried to contact the kids, that the only times that he did see them were at EH's insistence. Do you think that it's possible that MR didn't try to call the boys but told everyone else that he did? Do you think it's possible that he drove to their home, not to see if the boys were there, but to see who was there? Do you think it's possible that MR told Dylan he would be at the house at one specific time, but never showed. I think those are more possible than anything else, perhaps because that is MR's history.

I think all of that is possible.

They were fighting over something, child support seems to be the trigger IMO. He went to his attorney's office to sign papers for the divorce, this is according to him in the interview with MB. This is after what a month or two of a court hearing.

Has it been determined if the visit to the attorney was a previously-scheduled appointment? Or, did MR just go there that day?

Thanks.

I'm only interested in knowing why MR recently sent the property management a cheque and called them Monday morning while he was running errands.

Do you think this could have something to do with Dylan's disappearance?

Never mind. I just saw the "storage" post.

But he somehow ended up on that mountain. If he was no longer alive, a HRD dog would have hit on his vehicle. Unless he had access to another vehicle unknown to LE. They didn't keep any of Marks as evidence. So IMO if Mark killed Dylan he did it on the mountain or outside his house and used a phantom vehicle

All IMO

Not necessarily true. In Scott Peterson's case, HRD dog showed some interest but never actually hit on anything.

I am several pages behind so forgive if this has been asked --- I have not seen any reports of SAR dogs currently searching. What did I miss? Thanks to whoever has this info.

Sorry I mis-used SAR. Of course it is no longer a search and rescue effort.

I was talking about the search the sheriff's department has conducted since the initial recovery on Middle Mountain.

IIRC, when I read that, there was talk of him putting her in a blue container. I don't remember all the details but people were posting and expert opinions/facts were also posted. Maybe it's like on this thread with people wondering if Dylan was killed in Mark's home or car, how long would the body have to remain there for dogs to pick up the scent.

So it's appears that it's not confirmed that a HRD dog can detect the scent of human decomposition after only a minute or two of death but it's something you may have remembered hearing.
