Oh my. I hadn't heard this. From 5 bones to this? I get disappointed in flavory reporters...

Dylan Redwine's father speaks out about son's death

Investigators found Dylan’s remains this week along Middle Mountain Road near Vallecito Lake. Mark says deputies warned him before showing photos of what they found. In the pictures, Dylan’s body appeared mangled and torn apart by wild animals. Officials are still determining cause of death, but Dylan’s father says right now, he hopes people will focus on the loving boy his son was.

Are the parents usually shown pictures such as those described by Mark? That seems extremely cruel.

Dylan Redwine's neighbors show support

MONUMENT, Colo. - At the entrance to the road where Dylan Redwine lived in Monument, a simple message and scripture in chalk, colors the black pavement.

“Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted,” Mason Wolfe said as she read the bible verse she wrote on the road.

“The family is going to be driving past it so I just want to let them know that they’re not in this alone, we’re all in this as a community and that we’re there to support them,” Wolfe said.

It's been almost an hour since the news conference and I can't stop crying. I wanted so badly for Dylan to be alive and being hidden somewhere.

:rose:RIP darling Dylan.:rose: You captured our hearts and we love you. If love could have saved you, you'd still be here.

I'm so sorry for the pain his family is going through right now.

BBM very, very well said Seajay. That's for sure.

"For the loving, caring peacemaker that he was,” Mark Redwine said.

Maybe its just me but, I do know that if I wanted people to remember my child as the positive descriptor stated above then I would absolutely NOT be stating to media reporters such horrific descriptors as he also states above in the IMO very unnecessary detailing of his body "mangled and torn apart by wild animals".. That was very upsetting and IMO totally unnecessary..MOO AND JMO ONLY!

Just saw this heartbreaking news. I'm so sorry for Dylan's mom and brother. I hope justice will be swift.

I agree! There is likely family members that would have preferred to not know those gruesome details and Mark should have keep that private.

:rose:Oh, I am so very sad. My deepest sympathy to all of you who have loved Dylan his whole life. Many of us came to love your son, your brother, your friend as our own. Dylan has truly touched my heart and although I don't in anyway pretend to know how you are hurting, I grieve along with you. I pray for you all. I pray that you may somehow be able to heal. I know words mean very little at a time like this from strangers but maybe someday it will bring you comfort to know how much Dylan has touched so many lives who will not forget him. Peace be with you all and may justice come swiftly.

Dlyan, may you now be able to Rest in Peace Sweet Boy...:rose:

I'm way behind in reading on this thread since I just read the headline in the news while ago and knew immediately it was Dylan. But, I had to say thank you, OtherEyes, for expressing so beautifully what I wanted to say.

I haven't been on Dylan's thread in a long time because I feared from the beginning that this would be the outcome. Yet, this was such a shock. RIP sweet Dylan. :anguish:

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't family members asked by police not to discuss the specific details of what was found (I could swear I read that somewhere today, but I really don't remember if it was in an article or what)? Why is MR talking to the press and others about the specifics if there is still a murderer out there to be found? Doesn't him doing that interfere with the investigation at this point? I don't think I'd want to reveal details like that if my child's murderer was still out there somewhere... But that is my opinion only and obviously I'm not in his position so I don't know what his thinking is...

As always, all of the above is my opinion only...

I'm pretty sure that was said in a Tweet right before the PC. We can probably find it in the last couple pages of the search discussion thread.

Thank you, I didn't think I imagined that. I'll try to find where I read it. I'm thinking it was a tweet from Kevin Torres, or on his FB feed...

ETA: I found where I read it. It was on Kevin Torres' FB page (official MSM source) when he summarized what LE was telling him - and yes, just before the press conference - no exact time on the post right now, just the line item list posted approximately 7 hours ago.

< Snip >
- family has been notified not to talk to media.
< /snip >

So, the question I have now is why in the world is MR completely disregarding what the investigators have asked him not to do? Why in the world is he releasing information they've asked him specifically NOT to release? I know why reporters don't care and are talking to him, but why is he answering their questions and offering information as he is? Does he not realize that it will make it harder for investigators to find out who did this to his son? Does he not want answers? I'm confused by this, truly. I've had doubts about MR from day 1 as everyone on this thread knows... I'm fully prepared to eat crow if need be. But why would he be hurting the investigation at this point?

Again, all of the above with the exception of the quote from Kevin Torres' page is MOO! :cow:

Yeah, I could've done without the graphic details, but some folks just say what's on their mind matter of factly. I've met plenty of folks like that. Doesn't really mean anything - it's just the way they are. I suppose he's still processing quite a bit too, so his straight shootin' manner could be due to a bit of shock.

ETA: I agree with Redhead72 that he should have just kept quiet about these things. I think I recall the police requesting that from the press conference. I could be wrong though.

If my child was missing for nearly 8 months and found dead in the woods, I might yell a bit at the person I thought responsible too. IMO

Last post until the information comes in more clearly.

Melissa Colorado ‏@melissacolorado 16m Truly heartbreaking. Standing in front of Mark Redwine's door. The missing poster of #DylanRedwine is still there pic.twitter.com/f3kjzkktMn

If you guys are discussing the radio show, would you please take it to the radio show thread so we can keep the conversation in one place, please? It makes it so much easier to find, if need be, kwim?

It probably depends on the situation. For a friend of mine, they would not allow her mother to see the pictures, but it was an interior crime scene that probably showed evidence. But her mom did WANT to see the pictures. Maybe Mark did, too. JMO
