Dylan Redwine Case Discussion Thread/Dylan's Remains Found

A question for those of you in the know... where Dylan was found would run off, ie rain, snow, flow down that side and eventually into the lake or vice versa? Could this be the reason dogs "got a strong hit"?

IIRC it was cadaver dogs that picked up a sent ON the water. The location of Dylan is north of the lake and the area of mountain rd where Dylan was found would fall in the direction of the lake. I wonder if his sent traveled down stream on the surface to the lake. jmo

I wonder, if there is a trial (and if MR is the suspect), would whatever Dylan told the judge come out?

Interesting. I would say NOT to protect Dylan , but with him passed now, possibly so :(

When the news came out I couldn't put my feelings into words. It took a fourteen year old boy to do it for me.

"..."It was just like the whole seven months of all this hard work and hope and stuff, just shattered," said [RN]..."]

The only hope left is for justice. And even though I believe justice will be served in this case, that is so empty.

whats your opinion about this excerpt from LPCSOs press release in March?

'Elaine Redwine, Dylan’s brother Cory Redwine, and Elaine’s fiancé Mike Hall remained in the Colorado Springs area when Dylan flew to Durango by himself on November 18th for a Court ordered visit with Mark Redwine for the Thanksgiving holiday. Elaine, Cory and Mike were still in the Colorado Springs area when Mark sent the message to Elaine the following afternoon asking about Dylan. Shortly after receiving Mark’s inquiry, Elaine, Cory and Mike traveled to Durango'

That the people that Mark was pointing at as suspects were not in or anywhere near Dylan when he disappeared.

I'm thinking a lot of AZgrandma and her family this morning. She was so very close to this situation and we understandably have not heard from her.

Prayers for you and your family, AZgrandma.

I do not know Law and so a question for anybody who does

The words spoken by Dylan said in private to a judge if it was negative towards Mark ( I am not saying it was as i have no idea) could a lawyer say that Dylan was coached to say this stuff ?

RN summed it up exactly. I feel so bad for Dylans friends, his disappearance and death is going to leave a big impact on their lives, what little remained of their childhood has been destroyed and it will impact on their lives long into the future. I hope they have access to good support and counselling.

yes its very possible a lawyer could say that, parental alienation is the catch cry used against many parents who only want their children to be safe.

the last text from Dylans phone was around 8pm, the 9.37pm text was from his ipod touch (which requires wifi availability for text to function)

we have not heard anything other than the time of that last text.

Thanks for the correction & additional info. Sorry, I only started reading about this since the sad discovery.

After looking around more, I saw a potential rumor that his cell phone actually stopped pinging around 8, but I didn't see a MSM reference for that. Is there any confirmation of that, or did someone somewhere just get confused with the time of the last text? I would have expected to find an MSM reference easily if it were known to the public, so my guess is that this isn't true.

LE said, some months back, that they had a lot of little pieces of evidence (paraphrasing) and needed one more piece or a few more pieces, to bring it all together. If indeed MR is the only person who was investigated at more than a ruling out level, than logic, IMO, would say that what they had up to the point probably concerned him. They may have found things at the home or in the car that were not enough on their own. They may even had had a hit by a dog. With this LE, we wouldn't necessarily know. JMO

BBM: I was just about to post about this.

“We have gathered so many little pieces of evidence, it’s kind of like a jigsaw puzzle and now you’re just looking for that one piece to bring everything together,” Bender said.

I have been going over old media, because in the back of my mind I thought I remembered their finding something on Middle Mountain road that was described as 'may or may not be connected with the Dylan Redwine case.' Can't find it though so consider that completely rumor at this time. I may be putting things together inaccurately. Still looking.

I don't recall seeing an exact time his cell phone stopped pinging only that it was sometime sunday night? (someone correct me if I'm wrong please)

Kind of like Munchhausen syndrome by proxy, only worse? Thinking he could "bond" with Elaine over Dylan being missing, maybe? They would have to "work together".....It's a thought.

His attempt at "bonding" came after the "6 month mark" (MR's terminology) of Dylan being missing, and NOW after Dylan's remains have been found. NOT during the first days, weeks, when it might have done some good in finding Dylan and helping Elaine in her heartwrenching quest when she was begging him for communication and information. I find this very telling and extremely cruel.

"This is an active homicide investigation," La Plata County Sheriff's Office spokesman Dan Bender told 7NEWS.

"The information we have is there is no reason for Dylan to go to Middle Mountain and there is no indication he did it on his own," Bender said.

Bender also said death by wild animals has also been ruled out.

So LE do not think the same as Mark with his theory of Dylan took a stroll up there :moo:

LE are adamant about this fact!!

I thought Mark said that the phone was ringing though a couple of days after Dylan vanished. And i did not think Dylan's phone pinged as it was a old phone and did not have GPS on it which is why they could not use it to track Dylan ?

Is pinging different than GPS?

I find it difficult to believe MR as he changes stories constantly.

pings are between the cell phone tower and the phone, GPS is phone to satellite.

Thank you as i thought they was one and the same

That is a good point as we only have his word that the phone was still on a few days afterwards .

The fact that his own son (Corey) is suspicious of his father in what he would do to Dylan speaks volumes to me. I have no followed MR very closely and what all he did surrounded the missing date but just that single fact is really all it takes for me to think he could possibly be involved.

I feel the same and when all is said and done(IMO) Mark is going to be a very lonely man :cow: - He has not just lost Dylan , he has lost Cory also!!
