ABC reports that law enforcement is still actively investigating Katherine Tsarnaev and she may face criminal charges.

My godchild was watching the Marathon from in front of the Forum restaurant and by chance left to get lunch just before the bombings. One friend running her first Boston marathon was stopped with a mile to go. Her husband watching for her was in-between the two bomb sites. I lived and worked in Boston for many years, and now live 30 miles away. Many people from my town were in Boston that day running or watching. It was just chance that none were killed or maimed. So I have followed this investigation closely.

Yet this ABC report has information I had never heard before: that Tamerlan and a woman (believed to be Katherine) purchased 5 pressure cookers at Macy's two months before the bombings. I knew Tamerlan purchased fireworks twice in NH, including once at a store near me. But the specifics were new info to me: 48 mortar shells. The 5 pressure cookers and 48 mortars would have been difficult for anyone living in the small, cramped apartment to be unaware of.
