I really wish they could force him to answer in court to the victims - I'm sure they have questions they would love to ask him. Instead he just sits there disinterested, not even having to look the people whose lives he ruined in the eye. This whole court thing probably bores him!

Rogers explains how he and his wife saw Sean's body at hospital; she caresses her son's body as his wet blood covered her hands, he says.

As a mom, this just broke my heart...I can imagine her doing this and the thoughts that must have gone through her mind about her baby. Tears are in my eyes thinking of a mother in this situation. DT will never be able to understand the pain he caused, until you are a parent you will never understand the love parents have for their children. You can have an idea of it, but, from the moment the baby is in your arms a different love you have never felt fills you, the void a lost child would leave must be truly horrific.

Yes! I don't know how to post Twitter posts in the correct order, but saw Adrianne haslet-Davis stared him down leaving the stand. Oh how I wish one of them would say to him "you had the balls to try and blow me up, have the balls to look me in the eyes now you chicken **** coward"!

Potential Witness takes the stand; it is Gary Oliveira.
This is a brief "voir dire" prior to his actual testimony.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 49m 49 minutes ago
The jury has been briefly excused so the defense can do a voir dire of the next witness, Gary Olivera @NECN #Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 48m 48 minutes ago
Oliveira is a U.S. Marshal who wrote an incident report about #Tsarnaev flipping off the camera in his holding cell @NECN

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 49m 49 minutes ago
Oliveira is here to talk about #Tsarnaev's now infamous middle-finger gesture at surveillance cameras here at federal court.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 49m 49 minutes ago
Oliveira is with the US Marshals.
He wrote a report after #Tsarnaev "flipped the bird".

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 48m 48 minutes ago

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 49m 49 minutes ago
Defense atty Miriam Conrad gets Oliveira to admit that he was told to write a report by his superiors about the middle finger incident..

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 48m 48 minutes ago
#Tsarnaev defense team is more than a little bit concerned about the jury seeing more of this photo, or video, of their client.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 48m 48 minutes ago

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 47m 47 minutes ago

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 48m 48 minutes ago
Jury called back in, with Oliveira waiting for them on the stand.
#Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 47m 47 minutes ago
Oliveira has been a deputy US Marshal for 14 years; working federal courthouse and prisoner security.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 48m 48 minutes ago
#Tsarnaev was arraigned here on 7/10/13 and Oliveira was in charge that day, working the operations desk.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 45m 45 minutes ago
Oliveira begins testimony in front of the jury. He says he was working the Ops Desk on the day of #Tsarnaev was arraigned @NECN

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 46m 46 minutes ago
Oliveira says he was watching #Tsarnaev in cell 4 on July 10, 2013 while he was being held for arraignment @NECN

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 47m 47 minutes ago
Oliveira was able to see cameras monitoring people in custody from his desk. He watched #Tsarnaev.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 47m 47 minutes ago
Oliveira: At about 11:23 am that day, he was watching cell 4, which held #Tsarnaev.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 46m 46 minutes ago
It was at about 11:23am on 7/10/13 when Oliveira says he witnessed #Tsarnaev extending his middle finger to the camera @NECN

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 46m 46 minutes ago
Oliveira watched #Tsarnaev throw his middle finger at the video camera; govt wants this image shown, defense objects.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 46m 46 minutes ago
Defense loses; that middle finger photo is now in evidence, and is being shown on every TV monitor in the courtroom.
#Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 45m 45 minutes ago
#Tsarnaev is staring straight into the camera, a look of disgust on his face, middle finger in the foreground @NECN

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 45m 45 minutes ago
#Tsarnaev appears to be looking at the photo in front of him at defense table @NECN

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 45m 45 minutes ago
#Tsarnaev is staring right at the lens; this was his 1st day in this courthouse.
Govt is done; defense will cross. It's Miriam Conrad.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 45m 45 minutes ago
Prosecution is done with Oliveira. Defense attorney Miriam Conrad begins cross examination @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 45m 45 minutes ago
Conrad: what time did #Tsarnaev arrive that day?
Oliveira: I don't know.
C: I can refresh your recollection with this log.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 44m 44 minutes ago
Turns out, #Tsarnaev arrived that day at 11:10am. He was placed in a cell; Conrad wants to show us the video itself, not just still image.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 43m 43 minutes ago
Now the DEFENSE is trying to offer the entire 2 minute video of #Tsarnaev in his holding cell @NECN

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 44m 44 minutes ago
Prosecution objects, at least initially, judge holds a sidebar @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 44m 44 minutes ago
Conrad needs to put the video in evidence, but govt. objects.
It runs 2 minutes, Conrad says.
Judge calls a sidebar.
#Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 44m 44 minutes ago
Defense had earlier said they wanted the jury to see whole video, not just a still frame.
#Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 42m 42 minutes ago
The 2 minute video will become evidence; jury and we are watching it now.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 40m 40 minutes ago
This video begins at about 11:08am, #Tsarnaev is put in the cell, he's being unrestrained @NECN

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 41m 41 minutes ago
The holding cell has two long benches built into both sides of the walls; we see #Tsarnaev enter in orange jumpsuit.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 39m 39 minutes ago
Conrad: so he's being compliant?
Govt: objection
Judge: sustained
@NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 41m 41 minutes ago
We see the restraints coming off of his arms; Conrad notes #Tsarnaev is compliant; govt objects, sustained. Judge: video speaks for itself.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 40m 40 minutes ago
Remember, this day, we saw #Tsarnaev with a brace on his left wrist/hand.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 40m 40 minutes ago
In video, he sits down, scratches his head repeatedly.
He walks to camera, seems to look for his reflection.
He's fixing his hair.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 39m 39 minutes ago
#Tsarnaev has a brace on his left hand, scratching his head, fixes his hair while looking up at the camera @NECN

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 38m 38 minutes ago
Conrad: "It appears he's using that reflection (on the camera) as a mirror"
Govt: objection
Judge: sustained
@NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 40m 40 minutes ago
#Tsarnaev spends several seconds fixing his mop of hair, using the reflective surface in front of the camera.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 39m 39 minutes ago
Oliveira admits he's seen people looking into the camera, but won't agree with Conrad he was using it as a mirror @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 39m 39 minutes ago
Oliveira says he has seen other prisoners looking into the cameras; "they do that to get our attention", he says.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 39m 39 minutes ago
Conrad: you know he had injuries to his face, his arm?
Oliveira: yes.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 38m 38 minutes ago
Conrad: "Did you know those injuries affected the left side of his face?"
Oliveira says he knew he had facial injuries
@NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 37m 37 minutes ago
Now we see a second clip; #Tsarnaev is staring at camera again.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 37m 37 minutes ago
He gets up on the bench & examines camear; he flashes a peace sign, flashes middle finger, then gets down. It's all very very fast.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 37m 37 minutes ago
In the video #Tsarnaev makes a peace sign with his fingers before sticking out his middle finger @NECN

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 37m 37 minutes ago
It appears #Tsarnaev is making a face at himself, checking out his facial injuries in the reflection over the camera @NECN

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 37m 37 minutes ago
You now see exactly why defense wanted jury to see entire video; the still image of the middle finger is quite different in this context.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 36m 36 minutes ago
Conrad keeps asking if Oliveira knows what was happening outside the cell at the time; he says he doesn't know.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 36m 36 minutes ago
Now the defense is showing Oliveira another clip of video after the middle finger clip @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 36m 36 minutes ago
Now, a third clip of video, 2 minutes later.
#Tsarnaev walks to the cell entrance, apparently speaking to someone outside the cell.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 35m 35 minutes ago
This clip shows #Tsarnaev walking purposely towards the holding cell door, possibly speaking to someone @NECN

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 35m 35 minutes ago
The rest of the video shows #Tsarnaev sitting alone on a bench in the cell, walking around toward toilet/sink area @NECN

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 35m 35 minutes ago
In this clip, #Tsarnaev ambles toward the back of the cell, where the toilet is. Clip ends. Conrad said she still has more to show.

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 34m 34 minutes ago
Oliveira: nothing else of note happened while #Tsarnaev was in the cell.
He didn't write a report for 2 days.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 34m 34 minutes ago
Conrad: you didn't write a report about that incident until 2 days later, correct?
Oliveira: correct
@NECN #Tsarnaev

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 34m 34 minutes ago
Conrad: Did someone direct you to write that report.
Oliveira: yes
@NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 34m 34 minutes ago
Oliveira admits he normally writes incident reports the same day; in this case, his boss told him to write this up.

Alysha Palumbo @AlyshaNECN · 33m 33 minutes ago
Oliveira is excused without any redirect from the government @NECN #Tsarnaev

Jim Armstrong @JimArmstrongWBZ · 33m 33 minutes ago
Conrad is done.
Nothing more from govt.
Oliveira is done.
Judge calls for lunch recess.
