His symptoms were characterized that way because he had been in an ebola house. Other's who are characterized that way had recently been to W.A. or exposed to ebola in some way.

Someone was recently characterized this way who had traveled here from Turkey.

The newspaper announces the name of the deceased. It is a medical practitioner Will Puli, which, according to the paper recovered from the deadly virus last month.

This was from that website just FYI

Just so everyone is well aware - NOT all American patient receive Zmapp, in fact Kent and Nancy had to SHARE 1 dose, they didn't even get a full dose. I think this clearly proves that Duncan not getting Zmapp is the same reason the 3rd and 4th American patients did NOT get Zmapp - There is no more!!!! It takes time to make and even then it is limited quantities!!

A third American patient received TKM-Ebola -- a different experimental drug approved by the FDA recently for wider use.

The fourth one, NBC cameraman Ashoka Mukpo, was infected in Liberia, airlifted to Nebraska and got the same drug as Duncan.

Me too, I am MUCH more concerned about people who "think" they may have been infected, and have the $$ to buy a ticket here where they think they may get better treatment.

Hopefully not likely, but certainly possible. And all a deadly disease needs are "possibilities".

Hoping they stop all flights out of infected countries, and soon!

Personally, I don't believe we should abandon those in need elsewhere, but we don't need to be importing either (unless a US citizen returning).

He had no contact with the patient. He was at the apartment days later, (four I believe), which according to your own link would not have made him a contact by any significant stretch. Local news said he made no contact with any body fluids of the patient, his soiled clothes, etc. None of the family was symptomatic when he was present. You don't get ebola simply because you are present in a place where the patient stayed days before, getting a signature from an asymptomatic individual.

I understand why this guy let his imagination take him to scary places. The media has no excuse and are contributing to misinformation being spread.

I also don't understand the relevance of that particular statement.

Sorry, I don't know if you are referring to my statement or the statement of Weeks. I am confused.

So now what? Site let me translate to English

The article says 'suspected' which is pretty important.

There is no confirmation that it was Ebola and on Newsnight on BBC just now they were saying that officials were back tracking and now saying that not all of his symptoms suggested Ebola. They also said that according to his colleague who is still confined at the hotel, neither of them have been anywhere near West Africa or anyone with Ebola.

So, whilst it is still very sad that this man has died horribly miles and miles from home, I am hoping it is a false alarm and not Ebola.

I believe they said it would be another 48 hours before they got the test results back - it seems like such a long time to wait.

I guess they're waiting on confirmation?

I'm sorry I don't know how to link to Twitter on here so I will type verbatim:

#Breaking wife of #Dallas Co Sheriff's deputy furious state health officials publicly released negative #Ebola test w/o telling her.

#Breaking Lisa Monnig says even her husband hasn't been told about negative #Ebola test. Follow me for latest more on CBS 11 News 4pm.

From J.D. Miles Twitter acct.

This is a shame. Not how this should be handles, IMO. There are HIPPA laws, which have gone out the window in this deputy's case, it seems. Not to mention, he was left out of the initial "watched" group from the get-go. Not a good way to inspire confidence in the system, IMO.

I just watched our local NBC station interviewing Mrs. Monnig & she was in NO WAY acting upset. She was smiling & being very pleasant. I don't know J. D. Miles but the twitter was apparently misinterpreted or miswritten by someone.

Indeed. They were talking about 48H before the test results come back from the German lab. Quite a long wait - will they seriously keep everyone locked up in the hotel until then?

Facepalm. Thanks for posting. Guess I need to turn on the TV.

I was agreeing with you.

Thanks so much for the reply. I didn't know how to respond at first because I was confused. My mind is in a whirl here between all of this. I just wanted to be able to understand. I'm just so upset that anyone would pull out any type of discrimination claim over this whether it was because he had no insurance, wasn't American, yada, yada, yada. We have enough going on here without dragging up unjustified claims about that stuff.
