I'm so happy for Teresa Romero's victory over ebola. :thumb:
At the same time, my heart breaks over her loss of her beloved pet.
Do we know if she still has yet to be informed?
Were I in her position, I would waste no time; I would immediately capitalize on my new publicity and public sympathy to bring a hailstorm of fire down upon the Spanish authorities who killed her Excalibur.
She can cite research, logic, and now, the example of our Bentley, to show that what Spain did was not only unnecessarily cruel, but unsupportable from a scientific perspective.
i.e., they deprived the scientific community thus the world of an excellent opportunity to add to our knowledge base.
Bentley is unlikely to present with the virus at all, IMO, since Nina was isolated so soon.
EXCALIBUR, however, was presumably snuggling with Teresa often through the initial 6 days she was symptomatic. He could have told us much.
We have yet to find a dog actively carrying an Ebola virus. We have only one study, which merely found ebola antibodies, and that was among dogs who were feral in the midst of an outbreak in Gabon.
That does not tell us what we need to know. We need to learn if, where, and for how long dogs can carry the live virus itself, and how their bodies kill and/or excrete it once they are infected or exposed.
Excalibur could have told us so much, but the :censored: took the cheap and easy way out and killed him.
I doubt she can sue them, but with support, she can reem them, and I know I'm not the only one here who would gladly hold them down while she does.
