Oh yes, please do not think if it were one of my family members involved that I wouldn't contact an attorney. I would sue the pants off of anyone who had come into this country with it, contacted it as well as the federal government and the president himself. I would sue the CDC that has been lying to us and I would not stop until I heard some voices.
This crap is real. I am stunned that we EVER allowed anyone into this country that has this disease. That was about the most stupid thing I had ever heard of to bring people back here to be treated. We are the lowly people. They are not going to tell us if they are giving "secret" vaccines to health care workers. This could easily spread this illness.

really? we're still of this mindset?

and i hope you don't mean duncan as it's been proven via extensive reporting by CNN that he had no idea he was infected, and couldn't have had any idea.

there is more hysteria in this thread, amongst this group, than anywhere i've ever seen in my life but for when some wanted to kill those infected with AIDS and hemophilia. wonder how many ''ryan whites'' are out there, or will be, having their lives completely ruined by the heinous ridicule, speculation, and mistreatment they get on account of places like this thread that do nothing but encourage out of control thought....which leads to out of control behavior.

please tone it down, guys. good grief.

City of Dallas News Release - Statement from Louise Troh

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
October 19, 2014
Statement from Louise Troh

Contact:
Mark Wingfield, associate pastor, Wilshire Baptist Church
214-205-2763, [email protected]

Statement:

Tomorrow, my family and I will complete the 21-day quarantine period we were required to undergo because of the Ebola virus in Dallas. We are so happy this is coming to an end, and we are so grateful that none of us has shown any sign of illness.

Our happiness is mixed with sadness at the same time. My beloved fiancée, Thomas Eric Duncan, who was also the father of my son, Karsiah Eric Duncan, did not survive with us. We continue to mourn his loss and grieve the circumstances that led to his death, just at the time we thought we were facing a happy future together. Our hearts also go out to the two brave women who have been infected by this terrible disease as they were trying to help him. We are also aware of how much this has affected many other people of my city, Dallas, and my country, the United States of America, even as it has in the country of my birth, Liberia. We also know that many people who work in Presbyterian Hospital are hurting because of this tragedy. We pray that God will bring healing to all in our community soon.

We thank all people of kindness who have prayed for us during this time, and we join your prayers now for others who are suffering too. We have lost so much, but we have our lives and we have our faith in God, which always gives us hope.

Even though the quarantine is over, our time of mourning is not over. Because of that, we ask to be given privacy as we seek to rebuild our home, our family and our daily living. We will not give any interviews at this time. I do have a story to tell, and I look forward to telling it in my own way at the right time.

At this time, I would like to give my thanks to Mayor Mike Rawlings and Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins for all the help and kindness they have shown me in the last three weeks. These two men have cared about me as a person. The many people who work with and for them, and also the state health workers who have cared for us, have been angels from God who have kept our spirits up through all of this. And of course I want to thank all my family, the Liberian community, and my friends at Wilshire Baptist Church. I look forward to seeing you all soon.

All glory be to God.

City of Dallas Animal Services to Begin Monitoring Bentley’s Specimen for Ebola

This week, the City of Dallas Animal Services is transitioning Bentley into a special kennel periodically for the proper collection of his urine and feces for monitoring and testing. He will only be placed in the special kennel during the specimen collection – and returned to his normal kenneling and routine immediately after the collection is completed. At this time, this specimen collection process is only expected to happen three times within the remainder of the quarantine period. This is the least invasive and safest way to conduct the testing process for Bentley. Bentley will be monitored for a full 21-day period, similar to people exposed to the Ebola virus.

The City of Dallas Animal Services is overseeing Bentley’s care in partnership with the state, Texas A&M University and the College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences, the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). Nina Pham, Bentley’s owner, continues to be cared for at the National Institutes of Health, NIH, in Maryland. The City of Dallas and DAS are communicating updates to Nina on the testing throughout the process.

On Saturday October 11, 2014 the City of Dallas Animal Services began what was quickly to become one of the most publicized animal rescues in the world. Dallas nurse Nina Pham was confirmed to have Ebola after caring for Thomas Duncan, the country’s first diagnosed Ebola patient. After her care and recovery, the next most important thing to Nina and her family was the safety and health of her beloved companion, Bentley.

City and county leaders recognized the strength of the human animal bond, and mobilized to ensure the ability to monitor Bentley in a safe and humane environment while in the City’s care.

Dallas Animal Services Manager Jody Jones and Dr. Cate McManus have been coordinating the logistics and care with the experts from state and national authorities. The city, state and Texas A&M team has been following guidelines with appropriate safety protocols being developed and refined by numerous experts. “Our goal has been to provide the highest level of safety and care to both Bentley and our community,” said Jones.

Specimen collection will be conducted periodically beginning October 20, with a final testing to be done at the conclusion of the 21-day quarantine period. “We are hopeful that Bentley’s journey will contribute to what we know about Ebola and dogs, since they play such an important role in so many peoples lives," said Dr. McManus.

I am very glad to hear that Bentley won't be sitting in metabolic cage (which is what the cage for collecting urine and feces called) for the whole three weeks, but only for specimen collection.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-29680400

William Pooley, the British nurse who contracted Ebola while volunteering in West Africa, has returned to Sierra Leone to resume his work.

He said there was a "real emergency" in the country and he was "delighted" to be back on the front line.

Mr Pooley will start work at a hospital in the Sierra Leonean capital, Freetown, on Monday

The extent of any immunity Mr Pooley will have to the virus is unclear.

Having recovered from Ebola, his immune system should be able to fight the infection.

However, doctors are not certain how long the immunity will last or whether he is completely resistant.

But Mr Pooley added: "It's massively safer for me to work there now than it was before."

Not all. Just those who don't go through the scanner or if they see something on scanning.

It also has something to do with when you purchased your ticket, I have been told. The closer to the flight, the more likely you will get a pat down.

Good news.

Apologies if this has already been posted - I could not find it.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-29683616

The Spanish nurse who became the first person to contract Ebola outside West Africa has now tested negative for the virus, the Spanish government says,

The result suggests Teresa Romero, 44, is no longer infected - although a second test is required before she can be declared free of Ebola

After the head of A&M Veterinary department clearly stated it would be THREE WEEKS with no human contact and "Bentley can just suck it up" I suspect the Dallas Animal Services had a serious talk with them and they revised the original plan.

The Dallas authorities don't need to peeve off even MORE people right now, and animal lovers can be one volatile very loud spoken group.

Judge Jenkins gave a press conference today. Tweets from a WFAA reporter:

@DavidSchechter: Planning for new triage location for future #Ebola patients at hospital other than Presby, says @JudgeClayJ. http://t.co/D1s4M45NmA

@DavidSchechter: Family of Thomas Duncan off quarantine tomorrow: "They need love and acceptance. They don't need pity," says @JudgeClayJ #Ebola

@DavidSchechter: 25 health employees on #Ebola watch list are living at Texas Health Presby to keep distance from their families, says @JudgeClayJ

5 P.M. PRESS CONFERENCE IS OVER:
County Judge Clay Jenkins announced a plan for a new triage location other than Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Ebola care.
Forty-eight people will leave the Ebola watch list, and 25 healthcare workers are staying at Presbyterian to keep distance from their families, Jenkins said.

Interesting presby is actually THE ideal place for quarantining people and considering very few to zero patients are there , no one can be potentially contaminated , if so. I'm guessing that hospital will have a really hard time the next several months or longer before people are over their fear of what might be lurking inside.

From that same article-

According to her family, she had been in contact with Dallas County Health Department officials, who asked her to report her temperature twice a day after fellow nurse Nina Pham was diagnosed with Ebola. Vinson's family said she asked officials if she could fly back to Dallas a day early and place herself in a 21-day quarantine at the hospital.
"She was told that this was the first request of its kind, but that the agency would consider the option," her family said in a statement. "Once again, Amber was assured that she should not be alarmed and prompted to continue self-monitoring."

Are LE changing their story or is it the woman changing her story?

One of the links to the story posted a while back did say she never lived there, not on anyone's list. Only after mentioning all the concerns, false info did the report state, oh and by the way non of this is true.

So the entire Amber Vinson situation happened due to the CDC. Shocker.

I would like her to sue the CDC, but then that means I am paying her which is just a disgusting thought.

I think they got a lot of complains. At least they listened here (unlike Spain).

It's very hard to sue a government agency. CDC did not put any travel restrictions on nurses/doctors. But the worst part is that they allowed Amber to fly back when she already had a fever (and they already knew that Nina was infected with Ebola).
