EEK!! 60 year old has twins

  • #41
You don't offend me. I'm 52 and will be 64 when the youngest grandchild I'm raising turns 18, and I'm just hoping that I live even that long. It's so much harder now than when I was young and I think that woman is nuts to be doing such a thing. Her daughter will probably end up raising the children because she could be pushing up daisies before the kids are grown.
Quite true and I wonder how her daughter feels about this?

QUOTE]
Her 29 year old daughter said that she was appalled by the whole thing. She said that her mother should be hitting the gym and enjoying her life, not putting herself under the stress of raising kids.

Hubby and I were talking over a glass of wine(or two) and he "casually" mentioned how quickly the 3 kids we have are growing up. I made the mistake of mentioning that I miss the days when they were young. He then said with a wink in his eye that having "another baby" would not be so bad would it.

It told him that if he wants to have another baby, he can be my guest, but I am sure as heck am not going to, ever, not in this lifetime. Then I said why don't we talk about the "snip" that may prevent this from happening. That ended any talk of having another baby..............

At 60, I would like to retire early and hit the beach, travel, enjoy life without kids or babies in tow.

She looks damn good for 60,and why are all you women complaining about her age anyway?--Women live 7 years longer than men and yet plenty of MEN have kids in their 70's!--The late Tony Randall had a kid at 78! Now he's dead, kids w/o a father--now THAT'S wrong--She's only 60,she might make it to 85 or 90,so leave her alone--I wish her the best

Peter Hamilton, I clicked on when I saw your name on this thread because I have usually agreed with your basic opinions on most subjects.........
Well, said.........and as usual ..........I agree again with every point you make. If its ok for Larry King and Donald Trump.........amongst many others........it sure is ok for this lady. She does look darn good.........
The the treatment of people( majority women) due to "age" has got to end ..........
It is antiquated, ole' time thinking.......I'm wishing her the best too.......and I am sure the children will be well provided for and taken care of.......Happy Days Ahead for the two tykes :)

Nature did not intend women to be birthing at age 60. That is why it is wrong. Shame on Tony Randall for bringing children into the world, who are now fatherless. Why would you want to subject a 10 yr old to a parents death? (hypothetical, of course) Kids need parents. Grandkids need grandparents, aunts and uncles. It is just selfish, anyway you put it.

Drs should sometimes leave things to mother nature. She does know best.

That made me laugh out loud.

I totally agree with this. I know there are no guarantees that a parent won't die when a child is young but the odds are certainly greater the older we get. I think this is selfish as well.

P.S. It was said that her 29 year old daughter is "apalled."
---------------------
I can understand the daughters feelings, you do too~she would probably rather count on raising her own children~not her mothers! These women have to be lacking in some way~~maybe common sense! I'm 75,have a grandaughter 30,grt.grandson 7. For Gods sake they are one brick short of a load, dont care how educated they are!!

i am complaining because what she did was not in the best interest of the kids. i dont care if she is still good looking. as we age our bodies change. we can no longer have kids for a reason. to ignore that fact and have kids anyway as a social statement is hardly something i would cheer. she could live to be 90. already her body has changed that is why she had to get pregnant through a doctor. just because she is alive does not mean she can be active with the children. kids need more than a warm body. yes men do it as well. men who father children at a late age tend to have a young wife. the child still has a good chance 1 parent will be around to see their grandchildren. if this woman wanted to be left alone may i suggest next time she decides to get knocked up via test tube she does not contact the papers.

I think people have always pretty much thought that men like Tony Randall who have kids with young women as just old fools. Not many women would even look twice at him if he didn't have money and some good looking step daddy will probably end up helping to raise his kids. Most of these people must have plenty of money to leave the kids because no poorer person would want to have kids at age 60 and might not have anyone to even raise them once they pass on. Not all people live very long. My mom is 81 and everyone of her friends and several boyfriends have passed away quite awhile ago.

This woman had no right getting pregnant and having a baby at her age period. Shes tooo old. and regardless of what health shes in this minute at her age people usually develop problems that impact their health in negative ways, if I was her daughter id be appalled and pure disgusted.
When that baby is 10 her mom will be 70. and more than likely with health concerns that elderly people get. this child will end up taking care of its mother and thats not right.

I pray to God I look that good at 60.....

I also pray to God I don't have twins at the age of 60 or anytime before that!

Donald Trump(and wife) had a child. His child(and wife) had a child. Donalds's child is a bit older then "his son's child" gee they can all play together.

Now that is what I do call weird.

A mother had a baby, her daughter in law was pregnant at the same time.

There is a reason women "have the age" when they are free from getting preggers. I am sure it has to do with the "viability" and health of the egg.

So messing with Mother nature, well I really just don't know.

But I do tell you when you are mistaken for the child's grandmother when you are the Mom, how does that affect the child, play dates, socializing with other parents, parties etc.

But at 60, again I am hitting the beach.

I only saw the photo, not the video. Is that her husband or the Dr.? He is damn fine!

What now? Are we going to see a competition between women to see who can be on the records for the oldest births? Or births of multiples? :hand:

I see it as ridiculous and beyond selfish. I say that partly because of her:liar: stated reasons for doing this. AND, by the way, I'll be 60 in less than two years and I look MUCH younger than her.

I'd have his baby. He's got good genes, and money to boot! I think that is the husband but hey, if its the doc I'm all about it too! She probably just couldn't turn him down! He's a hunk.
