Looks like the family/families of the future bride and groom wanted their identities kept private because the wedding registry information is no longer available on the Willams-Sonoma or Pottery Barn websites. jmo

The 24-year-old Smart is a senior at Brigham Young University. She met Gilmour, of Aberdeen, Scotland, while doing Mormon missionary work in Paris.
The couple wed at the Laie Hawaii Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in front of a small group of family members, spokesman Chris Thomas said in a statement. The group then celebrated at a private reception and luau.
"The bride and groom were beaming as they left the LDS Temple," Thomas said.
Smart and Gilmour got engaged last month and made plans to wed this summer. However, Smart opted to move up the ceremony because of the media attention her engagement was getting, Thomas said.
"She decided, about a week ago, the best way to avoid significant distraction was to change her wedding plans and to get married in an unscheduled ceremony outside of Utah," he said. Thomas added the couple will go on an extended honeymoon in an undisclosed location

Thanks Get Smart, I am so happy for her and her family. Tears of joy are rolling off my cheeks.

We did Sleuth the heck out of her case wanting desperately for her to be found. And then suddenly there she was, beyond belief, and like in so many cases we have studied together, we thought it was a case of divine intervention. I still believe she had an angel watching over her that whole 9 mos. xox

I had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth Smart today!!! (Well....technically yesterday, Tues, here in Bellevue). She spoke on behalf of a children's charity and I was able to share a few minutes of conversation with her. She showed me a cute candid cell picture of her and her sweet new Scottish husband. She's quite obviously best friends with him and head over heels in love.....and I'm SO HAPPY FOR HER!!! Way to go Elizabeth!!
Talk about an inspirational and remarkable young women. I am in awe of her grace, courage, strong faith in God and message of HOPE. She is a gorgeous, glowing newlywed and beautiful on the inside and out. Down to earth...totally approachable.....very genuinely REAL and incredibly sweet. Just wanted to share!

I think she's a class act. It's nice to hear that she is as genuine in person as she comes across on her rare appearances on television or in interviews. I really hope she has a great marriage.

I'm so happy for her. She deserves the best. She went through so much at such a young age, but has held her composure and chose not to use the media to gain celebrity. I hope the guy she is marring is a good guy and respects her for what she is. You are an inspiration to many Elizabeth.

Human Trafficking Conference-1.jpg

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A woman who was held captive for nine months has underscored the importance of work performed by health care professionals, law enforcement and social workers to rescue and support kidnap victims.

Elizabeth Smart-Gilmour told a South Dakota forum on Wednesday that such work "makes a difference" in the fight against human trafficking and sexual abuse.

Smart-Gilmour was taken from her Utah bedroom in June 2002 at age 14 and held for nine months. The now-26-year-old described her capture and the repeated sexual assaults she endured. She told how she was moved from Utah to California.

The conference aims to raise awareness about human trafficking in the Dakotas, partly fueled by the recent massive influx of oil workers to area.

Smart-Gilmour heads a foundation that educates children about sexual crimes.

To be from a wealthy family, this is one tough girl. I am so proud of her, after what she went thru, getting on with her life. I wish there were more like her.

At the same time, I guess you really know what goes on behind closed doors, but I truly hope all is as good as it appears.
