I was a teenager in the 1990s. Before her death, Diana was widely viewed as an unstable, emotionally unbalanced figure. When she took an unauthorised visit to Angola about land mines, the British government was livid and she was branded a loose cannon. Had she not died, she would have faced serious repercussions from the government for speaking out on land mines.
But that was all forgotten after her death.
