Mont. Black Bear on the Loose after 21 Break-Ins
Officials Suspect One Brazen Bear Responsible for Break-Ins; One Resident Found Bear on Back Porch Eating Pizza

(CBS/ AP) A brazen black bear believed responsible for about 21 break-ins in Montana over the past few weeks has so far eluded capture.

Fish, Wildlife and Parks biologist Shawn Stewart says the Red Lodge area usually has three to five bear break-ins during a normal summer.

Red Lodge resident Marek Rosin says he woke at about 1:30 a.m. last Thursday to find a bear had pushed open the door to his back porch and was munching on a supreme pizza in his chest freezer. Rosin scared the bear off before it could do any more damage.

Stewart says most of the break-ins involve the bear climbing through a screened window or breaking through a screen door to access refrigerators or freezers.

LE has reviewed security footage from some of the homes and found this captured on tape. Have you seen this bear?

I knew there was a reason he was in Montana. He was headed for BC. With the help of 12 of his friends, he got a job guarding pot fields in exchange for dog food. Unfortunately, LE in BC weren't aware of his previous crimes in the U.S and let him go. But they did manage to get him to pose in a picture with them. IMO, it looks like he's been sampling the product.

In other bear news, the little guy Down Under got his bum stuck in the grill of a car:

Koalas are famously chilled, laid-back creatures who don't like a lot of excitement.

So imagine the shock this little critter suffered after it was hit by a car in Australia and got stuck in the front grille.

The vehicle struck the fully grown male koala near Narrawong in Victoria's south west after leaving the town of Portland, west of Melbourne.

The driver, who was travelling at about 50mph, hit the brakes after striking the animal with his Ford Falcon on the Princes Highway.

good lord! look at the inside of that car! TRASHED! lol ... does auto insurance cover bear attacks? prolly only if you have a picture like this to prove that it was a bear and not your teenager....

Actually it does LOL it's considered as vandalism...have to take into account the deductible.....rot ho!

I'm in the business and I have paid claims on skunks ripping the seats up....not to mention one took a dump after he finished:crazy:

Driven from the mountains by the 2009-2010 winter—the snowiest in five years—and feeding off the garbage left by tourists, Bubba is living large on Lake Tahoe's shores. The bear has broken into at least 50 homes in search of food the past year, causing more than $70,000 of damage, and leaving stinky, basketball-size deposits as his calling card.

Last Thanksgiving, Bubba broke into a Presbyterian church in Incline Village and devoured more than 20 jars of peanut butter that were to be given to the poor, among other things.
