Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Wednesday that the department’s Internal Affairs division will interview by Thursday the deputy who might have missed a chance to find Caylee Anthony's remains in August.

Will interview by Thursday??!! They haven't interviewed him yet?? :waitasec:

That is odd. :waitasec:

For cripes sakes, no wonder the house DC was searching lays open and likely not investigated.

I would think if it was the same bag Caylee was in on August 13th the officer would have smelled it before he even got near it. Closed or not that's almost a month he would've smelled the decomp.

The A's discouraged all "looking for a dead Caylee" activity so why would LE not looking for the body upset them? They should really stay out of this one.

why are the A's the only innocents in this whole big mess...tired of them beng the ones with the kid gloves...do agree with you--they didn't want anyone researching anything that would tend one to believe Caylee was deceased.......

I just read that in the basement. Crazy coinky-dink, huh?

It's mind boggling how many crazy coinky-dinks there are in the case! Wonder if there is any connection to KC or LA. Did Cain know either of them or go to school with them?

I am not a big believer in coinky dinks to start with......and this case has toooooo damn many.

We have to remember what LE was facing in Aug. It had been raining every afternoon since the end of May so the ground was saturated if not having a fair amount of standing water. KC and crew had the kidnapping with Caylee sightings coming on the news everyday, LE had every psychic and crazy calling the tip line, in addition to there day to day jobs. Orlando is a large crime ridden city, LE has to deal with gangs, con artists, drugs, tourists, college kids and all the rest that goes with a large population. The events that led to Caylee's death and ultimate recovery are truly bizarre and no amount of text book or training could prepare you for the likes of KC. She defies logic, seasoned investigators could not get the truth out of her. The area was marked as cleared by TES or cadaver dogs. Granted it would have been nice to find Caylee sooner but I have a hard time blaming LE. One guy already lost his job in LE because of this case, I hope another one doesn't. LE are human too, I am sure the officer is beating himself up over this. But what mother would put her baby in a garbage bag and place her in a swamp less than a mile from home. Let's blame who the evidence points to. RK also did not disclose that he was a prior bounty hunter or PI which to me would have made his tips a little more credible than the average tipster.

 I agree with your post.. :blowkiss:

I don't know about the States, but in Canada our police officers have a "Police Association" - the most powerful union you have ever run into. The rules and regulations they have, about when and how an officer can be questioned about what, is horrendous. Good protection for the wrongly accused officer - even better protection for the lazy, indifferent or explosive type. If Orlando has a police association, Thursday sounds quite timely to me.

imo it does seem odd.:waitasec: I'd definitely be interested to find out if he know's the "O" house group from school. Another poster mentioned that maybe it was his "beat". Hope that's all that it is, Head spinning. Hasn't LE already interviewed him? Thursday? huh, I'm lost now.

UMMMM... he is listed as being 40 years old...so he would have graduated from high school about the time that Casey was born....so I doubt there was any type of school connection to either Casey or Lee. If he was the patrol officer for that area and both calls were made during the day shift, it is only logical that he would respond to both GA's gas can call and the meter reader call. Another officer would have been called to assist him if needed, but not likely in either of these cases.
He SHOULD however have made a point of referring the whole meter reader issue to the detectives on this case to follow up...even if he thought that RK was just a snoop or a busy body. Always best to pass the buck to those who are better informed about what was going on in the case.

It would not smell in August. With a death in JUNE there would no longer be a smell in August.

Good that he'll be disciplined for not doing his job! :clap:Just think, if he'd actually investigated, Caylee might have been found in August, 4 months sooner than December!

doogiesgirl, I think these kind of officers are everywhere. I know there are lots of those types here where I live. Lots of carjackings, home invasions, LE doesn't take folks' complaints seriously, won't dust for fingerprints (which REALLY pi$$es people off). There have been times when the media has found stolen cars before the police do. I know in many police departments the job itself can lead to numbness, indifference, and a lack of motivation. It's a double-edged sword.

I know. And as I said I really hate to complain about the police because I know they are in such a difficult position, they don't know who is safe or who is going to pull a weapon on them. Used to be you could kind of tell by looking at a person, but anymore even that sweet looking little female can turn out to be a lunatic. This conversation has come up in several social gatherings so I know many people have encountered cops like this RC or much worse. I hope they find a way to weed those out b/c I do support LE, the good, the brave and honest, and thank goodness they out number the incompetent ones. Dont know what would help, more support and ongoing education, such as sensitivity classes, learning how to deal with stress, some kind of constant therapy for the gruesome things they must be witness to? IDK, I just know from my own experience what RK said regarding the cops attitude was not difficult for me to believe. MOO

Deputy reassigned until Caylee Anthony investigation complete

As part of the reassignment, Cain was told to turn in his sworn credentials, agency issued equipment including his badges, gun, patrol car and radio. While in this new assignment he cannot represent himself as an Orange County deputy an any form, including off-duty work.

....he will be reassigned to the material control/supply section until the internal investigation has been completed.
