I agree, white cap looks extremely at ease to a point where it may bring them both down.

Folks need to also remember they also have white cap on video leaving the area after the explosion, we just didn't see it. That probably nailed it for them.

I wonder what they have on the black cap guy that solidifies for them that he is involved.
From some of the comments on TV about this, and descriptions of what the FBI had to show, I gather that they had the white cap guy first (seen on Lord & Taylor camera) and it was later when they found images of the two walking through the crowds on the sidewalk together is when they put him together with the guy in the black cap. Just my take on it.

I don't think suspect 2 was over by the finish line. I could be mistaken.
Do we know why FBI won't release the photo/video of suspect 2 leaving the bomb? Did they say which direction he went after placing it?

They only put out the photos to help identify them. There would be no point in releasing that video. They probably want to keep everything as close to the vest as possible for the integrity of the case.

I'm looking for info regarding the timing... when the backpacks were placed & how far away the suspects would have been at the time of the blast. Links, anyone? TIA!

I saw a news video (no link right now) where the reporter was saying that the guy with bomb #2 was on the cell phone as bomb #1 went off. He then dropped his backpack, and walked away into the crowd. Then bomb #2 went off a few seconds later.

Keeping that close, so when they question the perps, only the perps can answer correctly, or intentionally incorrectly.

Someone on here identified the type of bag from the zipper photo. Do either of the bags match the type of bag?

IIRC the sipper pull is Fox brand. No idea if it is from a backpack or just someone's clothing, though.

This is so interesting.

Did the other guy wait for the first bomb to go off..starting walking and detonated it? Wait for a call?

He probably dropped it right when one when off and then walked away. Suspect 1 probably waited 15 seconds then called in bomb 2.

If you think about it, with the kind of timing involved you couldn't do this with just one person.

Okay, after a lot of poking at all the photos, this is the clearest shot I can get of the suspect in the dark hat, compared to that ecoterrorist dude. If I make it any bigger, it gets too fuzzy to see. I'm still not sure. Looks possible?

I think some of the confusion is coming from CNN?

They have this under the photos of the suspects:

The FBI on Thursday, April 18, released photos and video of two men it called suspects in the deadly bombings at the Boston Marathon and pleaded for public help in identifying them. The two men were photographed walking together near the finish line of the marathon before the explosions that killed three people and wounded about 180.

Catherine Herridge on Fox is talking about how she got information from some LE sources in DC,that LE used social media to connect these two. I won't be able to explain it right, but it was something about how the FBI was able to watch messages and tweets from a 3 mile radious of the bombing and some of them appeared to be coded. and they followed these codes? I'm sorry I can't explain it better. If I can find a video of it,I will post .

If LE could use social media to connect the two, then they must know their names or aliases. If they were doing it using messages or tweets from near the site, then they know what phones they were using.

I think this is another example of a reporter with an overactive imagination and/or lack of understanding of how social media and cell phones work.

Actually I thought I heard them say they saw the one with the black cap first and it wasn't until later they put together the video and started to suspect white cap. I could be totally wrong about that though!

My youngest wears a lot of Fox brand and also has a backpack by that brand too.

I don't know if it's because I bought the things here that made them so expensive (HI) but they weren't cheap.

If IIRC they are popular with motorcross fans?ETA: They're big here because of surfing.

LE would have all that info, including code name or nickname, but, the perps could have been using disposable, paid in cash phones and trashed them. Otherwise LE would have been tracking them right to their front door.

Try http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/wanted_terrorists/daniel-andreas-san-diego That's San Diego's FBI wanted poster. It has another shot of his face.

He is older than most of us are thinking the suspects are, but he could certainly be disguised by wearing younger looking clothes, maybe hair dye.

JMO but I think the white cap is polo as pointed out by LLC.

These guys seem pretty brand conscious. Build el-cheapo bombs and wear designer stuff??
