CNN seemed to just say that some victims' families from Sandy Hook were in the stands at the finish line- My God could someone have targeted them??

Yeah. Across the street from the stands? If you were trying to create carnage, wouldn't you target the reviewing stand?

I had been watching CNN live feed from the Jodi Arias trial and following discussion here. When court recessed for lunch at 3:00 (EDT), I went into the kitchen to do some dinner prep. I turned on the TV (Ellen is on our local NBC station) and heard Brian Williams' voice before I even looked at the screen. I knew that there must be something urgent for the regularly scheduled programming to be interrupted.

I expect that we'll hear much more about this tragedy as the evening progresses. My thoughts and prayers are with victims, spectators who witnessed the explosions, emergency responders, and those who are offering to help in any way possible.

The race was dedicated to Sandy Hook victims; it's a few days until the Oklahoma bombing anniversary. I am not pointing fingers here but it just seems suggestive...

Patriots' Day celebrates the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Also IRS Day today. Waco, OKC each occurred on 19 April. Symbolism may be obvious. We shall see.

Controlled, the Globe had that and to be prepared for it.

Talked to a volunteer in the lobby who said lanyards were being used by first responders as tourniquets. Good god.

Yeah.

The timing is odd. It was four hours into the race and the crowds were starting to thin already.

That is what makes me think it is from here. I hate saying this, but other countries' attacks seem more "organized". Their goals seem to be mass destruction with thousands of victims. I am not being insensitive here just want to know who is responsible and this seems like it is from here. I think this is terrible and makes me cry :cry:

Was just talking to family there for marathon. Lots of people I know running. It's school vacation and state holiday so always tons of people in town. I'm worried about secondary devices....

There are a lot of political "rallies"/protests scheduled around the state (including lexington and concord) for this week...
