its a hot day you have to wonder why the guy standing next to the girls has a hooded sweatshirt pulled up over his head.. hes right behind the girls and what appears to be martin and family.

It wasn't that hot a day. Probably about 50-55 and a bit windy.

I wonder if the man with his back to the camera wearing a ball cap is the one who lost his legs? It looks as if he's holding flowers?

Its possible I misread the Dr's statements, but I thought he had said that he didn't see injury that would likely cause her to expire. Not that she didn't have visible injuries anywhere....just that he didn't have them where he'd expect her to pass away from them, if you KWIM?

Yes, but a severed artery WOULD be a potentially fatal injury. You can bleed out from that very quickly.
Since she had such severe damage to her legs, I wouldn't have been surprised that she died.
That's why his statement confused me... and made me think he was in shock and just didn't realize the extent of her injuries?

I hate to say this, but if you look at the head in that picture (the one believed to not be from the event), and the shape of the hairline, I do believe it is Martin. I am crying thinking about it and wish I could erase it from my mind, but I can't. :'(

Some thoughts and an approach;

Assuming that the same person planted both bombs, they should at some point be visible in pictures taken at the places both bombs were planted, and should be seen carrying a black backpack and whatever the other bomb was in. Also they would not have planted a bomb very far in advance, lest someone discover it and toss it in a dumpster or something. There are a lot of pictures to go over, but believe me, with all the cell phone cameras out there taking pix, he is surely in some of them.
I wonder if there is any possibility that the bomber was injured or killed in his own blast? Unlikely, but these things do happen.

I wonder if the ricin letter was related, and if this was not a foreign terrorist but a home grown nutcase, someone with something against Massachusetts or Boston?

If the bomb was triggered by a kitchen type "egg-timer" how much time is that in advance to set? One hour maximum? 30 minutes and then set the bag down someplace and get out? Also, if it's the same perp, the timers were set to detonate almost at the same time. How could he get the bags down and set to go off 15 seconds from each other so I have to think two people are involved. JMO

if you zoom in to the right hand side of the photo that was taken before the bomb exploded there is a guy walking away and hes got a black backpack on.. just to the left of the lamp-post

From what I can discern, it appears that the photo below is from this same bomb #2 location. Based on the brick in the background, mailbox, and tree in a similar place. So there were definitely casualties at location #2. I think we are seeing photos from both locations.

One article I read earlier (I apologize that I cannot find and link it) said that Martin's family was fleeing the first blast when they were hit in the second blast.....

The look on her face... Whether that is Crystal or her friend... My god.

I am similarly haunted by the look on the face of the AfAm woman in the purple shirt on the stretcher. I cannot tell if it is shock, or death. Has this woman been identified, not by name, but has anyone seen if she lived?

I have read that the much-pictured man in the wheelchair, whose artery was being held shut by Carlos Arredondo, as they raced him to an ambulance, HAS survived. Well attempt to find a link.

GL, I don't believe that's death...I believe that's shock and significant pain, but not death. To try to put it delicately, there is a certain pallor to the skin which happens close to death (think of the young man with Carlos - there's a blueness and strange grey-green color; that is the color of impending death...and how he survived I have NO idea), that this AfAm woman does not have.

As we have not been informed of a subsequent death at a hospital (although, tbh, I suspect there will be at least one more), I don't believe she has died since that photo. And again, it's my belief that the AfAm woman was in significant pain and significant shock.

ETA: I just heard on Anderson Cooper that the third victim was a chinese lady, and that this was confirmed by the Chinese embassy. She was apparently studying here, and her name is not being released per the family's request. Apologies if this has already been posted.

it def looks like you're right. they both have white tape around the right strap of the backpack. but they say the pic from the news article could have been several hours before the blast and the other pic at the finish line is within 30 min or so. So idk what to make of that.

That is the picture that has been being discussed... where everyone is... where the bomb may have been, etc.
