Ditto. I didn't mean to make you feel bad. Sorry holly. I just know that the family begged for her name not to be published. It's not your fault you didn't know that.

No worries! I am guilty of spending most of my time analyzing photos, diagrams and maps and much less time reading accounts, etc. I thought her name had not been released before now, simply because her family had not been notified.

I had read earlier that the womans father had confirmed her name and that she was the 3rd victim to a reporter who had visited their family home. Would this not make it ok to state her name on here?
I'd have to find the link again to the article.

I asked a mod to weigh in. :) I saw the same report-I linked one from WBUR.

Wouldn't there be all sorts of video of the finish line that will eventually turn up an image of the bomber?

Just flew in from a meeting with management. :seeya:

It is okay to link to the NY Post article, but we will leave the victim's name off our our site, just like we do with the names of minors. Please alert any posts with her name on them and we'll fix those posts.

I bet this sicko (s), stood across the street to watch his dirty deed and got pleasure in the scene. Who has money to waste on such stuff?............had to be test bombs also, before this. Did we ever hear much about the one that went off at the library?
I sure pray finger prints etc evidence is all over the 2 that failed to go off!

Except that "they" (FBI, Police Commisioner, Governor - not sure exactly whose mouth it came out of!) have stated that there were in fact only 2 Bombs, and only the 2 that went off. So the only chances of finding finger prints etc would be the pieces we have seen.

And these bombs were really primitive and wouldn't have cost much at all. You can get pressure cookers at Thrift Stores everywhere...or hell, Grandma's basement/attic, or their own kitchen. Nails and ball bearings/bb's aren't expensive.

There was no bomb at the library, it was electrical fire that then caused some sort of explosion, if I remember correctly.

Eventually, but it must be a bit like looking for a needle in a haystack. So many people at the finishing line would have been carrying back packs containing warmer clothes, etc for whatever runner they were supporting.

While the pick of the techie looking white guy with the pack does look suspicious I would think the bomber might want to be wearing a baseball cap, glasses, something to help alter his appearance from different angles. Facial recognition software is used in some areas like airports (though he may not use airports).

I was thinking the same thing. I'm all for scanning the crowd looking for clues, but I doubt the bomber would wear a red t-shirt, no hat, sunglasses or any attempt to disguise himself, and then hang around holding a bomb in a backpack, looking bored, as people all around him snap photos. "Techie" looks to me like a typical dad, husband, or friend who is the designated backpack holder for someone running the race.

... Then again, maybe that's what he wants us to think :ohoh:

;)

God I don't want this to be true and I know I will be blasted for wondering this but.....What if The Cowboy Hat Hero was behind the bombing? Stranger things have happened.

This photo is alarming to me (see attached photo - not sure how to embed in post). You can see the one guy in the square wearing all black is right behind one of the women that is later down on the ground after the explosion. So this guy in black was definitely right near where the explosion happened. Do we know what time this photo was taken? I've made a green arrow next to the woman in a purplish top.

You can see the lady in purple again in this image getting up from the pile of people. Definitely the same woman.

Victim Jeff Bauman's name was released by MSM, discussed here at length, noone had a problem with it.

Victim Krystle Campell's name was released by MSM, discussed here at length, noone had a problem with it.

Chinese (adult) Student's name was released by MSM, not supposed to discuss it here?

Please clarify.

Link up to where the family is discussing where they do or don't want her name released and we'll revisit our decision.

There is a rule that we can release minor's names if they are victims. Here's a link:

Rules Etiquette & Information - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community

There have been cases where minors have been victims of rape or other crimes and the family asks that we remove their names from our site and we comply. This isn't new for us. We aren't trying to be a pain in the butt, we are trying to respect a grieving family. If anyone has evidence that the family has changed their minds about discussing their child all over the internet, then please let us know. We can't monitor the internet, only our site.

Out of respect for her family, who have stated in the media that they do not want her name released.

Just saw Cathrine Herridge( I think that's her name),on Fox. According to her sources, due to the gunpowder, the bomb would have to have been put together very nearby the site,so they are concentrating on hotels and short term rentals near there. I guess gunpowder can explode quite easly. This makes me wonder if someone would walk through a crowd of people and risk getting jostled? Seems to me the bombs would have been left when the street was less crowded.
Also do we know how the bombs were detonated. Was it via cellphone? If that's the case, the person could be miles away to detonate it. They could have been at an airport getting ready to fly away.

For the reason that her family has requested that it not be publicized. We are a victim and victim's family friendly site. The other victims' families have spoken with the press and chosen to allow their family member's names to be released. This young woman's family has chosen not to do so. We will respect their wishes, even if some of the press choose not to.

Yesterday, there were active discussions regarding circuit boards.

Yeah I thought about that before, plus we can assume that folks had to park quite a ways away due to the crowds so carrying in one then going back to the car for the second one would probably take a lot of time.

Do people bring a lot of stuff to those events? Like coolers and such? If so one guy could have a backpack and another bag of some sort. I wouldn't think the bombs would weigh more than 30 lbs or so each so a grown man could handle the weight.

While the pick of the techie looking white guy with the pack does look suspicious I would think the bomber might want to be wearing a baseball cap, glasses, something to help alter his appearance from different angles. RBBM

That above look described is a probable one, but wondering if this is a young perp, for whom "the kick" might be to have their face in the papers, , but lost in the crowd - " Where's Waldo " style.

I think I recognized a few more people.

This image shows what I believe to be the Chinese students in both photos. You can see the one is wearing a blue coat and sunglasses off in one and on in the other. Her facial features look the same in both and she is looking towards the camera in both. The green arrow shows Kyrstle and her friend. This image is from about 30 mins before the first bomb. Do we know what time the left hand photo was taken?????
