Family friend missing, any suggestions on how to help?

Any news ?
None at all, hospitals have been checked, his flat has been searched.
It’s very out of character knowing the amount he liked to be in contact. He is a very lonely man with depressive tendencies, my dad said he’s always said life was only worth living for his whiskey and his girlfriend who died a while back.
He missed a planned meal with my dad and their friend.
Pretty convinced something bad has happened to him, but exactly whether accident, self inflicted or otherwise we aren’t sure

If it was self harm, I'd think he would have been found already. Usually people want to be found, so loved ones don't wonder forever what happened.

Does anyone have access ro check if his bank account has been used. By him or by fraud?

I presume the police will have done this?
I think the most likely thing is he went in the river somehow most likely accidental
Wish I could do more but I’m 400 miles away and my dad doesn’t really talk about it

Hi @lizziginne
Sorry you & your Dad still have no answers :(

Sadly you're probably on the right track, it seems unlikely he wouldn't be found by now, one way or another, in such a densely populated area?
It's not like he'd have any reason to need sneek around hiding or anyone he'd be with to not report an accident or major health issue. Drinking's not illegal so I can't see that happening?
If he'd been 'harmed' by someone intentional or not, I still expect he'd have been found by now too.

The only other thing that crossed my mind is could he have just up & gone off somewhere... I'm thinking kinda someplace like Dublin/Hamburg - short-break getaway? If he's been depressed with some extra cash maybe just wanted to go drown his sorrows somewhere different.
( Sorry for the stereotyping ... but generally adult males do prefer the beer not shopping type trips ;) )
Obviously I know it's a really long shot but he's gotta be somewhere.

I truely do hope you find him soon

Little update to say there isn’t really much to update. ☹️ His cousin (only family) and few friends all believe he is dead somewhere.
Talking to my dad, he’s fallen out with people in the past because of the amount of contact he liked to have with them. This is so far out of character.
The river is still our biggest theory, accidental or purposeful I’m still not sure

So, I got some good news on Friday!
We’ve found him!
He’s in a brain injury rehabilitation centre which he’s been in for the last month and a half after suffering a fall and bleed on the brain.
Police have returned his phone to him and he contacted my dad!
Literally feels like someone coming back from the dead

Amazing news, Lizzi! Slightly concerning that the police weren't able to find him there. Do you know if his family knew where he was?

His family found out about 2 weeks before we did apparently, he’d left his mobile at home and didn’t have any contact numbers for anyone for a while!

I'm sure knowing how much you & your Dad care about him, that you were truly worried & you DID try to find him, will be the biggest boost towards helping his recovery.
I'm so happy for you all!

@lizziginne I would just like thank you (& your Dad) for being such good & caring people.
