No actually Americans mostly speak Spanish. 52% based on recent calculations.. But of course that is all those immigrants.
I have total issue with "the white race is becoming the minority."
Does the White race need to be majority?? How about everyone just be human?? No need to worry about race..
Does it matter what "race" is more abundant?

Hanged Witch Decoration Sparks Allegations Of A "Hate Crime:"

In the state made famous for persecuting witches in the late 17th century, a modern day sorceress in Massachusetts is burning mad about a neighbor's Halloween decoration depicting a witch hanging from a noose, calling it a hate crime against her religion.

"I want to see him take it down," said Kelly Lynch of Chicopee, Mass. "Look at what's going on in Louisiana. That would be the same thing. If a black family had ... crosses outside of their house or nooses hanging from their trees, it's basically the same thing." The witch is hanging from wooden gallows in front of a home on East Street, but Lynch finds the decor offensive. more at link

Somehow I don't associate hanging nooses with black people. (yes, I know the history, but I associate burning crosses more with black people)

Swastikas I do associate with the Nazi's

But nooses, I associate with the old west and the hanging of outlaws (too much TV) unless it is Halloween, then I just figure it is a decoration.

It sounds like a problem with perception, not intent. I once made a Halloween costume for my DD with a black sweatshirt. I fixed it so it covered her face, the shoulders were way above her head and she looked headless. It wasn't a racial statement, that was just an old hoodie that was handy. I wasn't thinking black people with their heads cut off, I was thinking the headless horseman. It is traditional in this country to do some gruesome decorating for Halloween. Hanging or bloody seems to be the most popular.

I thought they burned witches. NEVER had I even thought of witches and hanging.

This is just dumb.

I was at a bike week event where some biker had died, so they put his leather vest on some wood in the air over a bonfire to burn it. Well, the vest burned off and just the large "T" it was on was burning - probably eighty people watching and thinking of this guy (Named Grizz) and since I didn't know Grizz, all I saw was that it was dark out, and eighty people were standing around what looked like a cross on fire! I pointed it out in case someone from the road was offended thinking we were burning a cross rather than holding a memorial. It was brought down quickly, and I actually thought it was hilarious of a situation - since the intent wasn't to offend.

Then, I went to a TOOL concert and their opening band was "Melt Banana" (They suck) but anyway, the lead "singer" wears a white hoodie. So, in front of ten thousand people (ish) all you see is darkness and a white... pointy top... an entire audience was silent. The second song, the hoodie was removed - they were a japaneese band and didn't know, but I thought that was hilarious too.

:-) I entertain easily, I suppose.

Glitch...both great examples. Especially since, upon realizing the possible misinterpretation, the items were removed!

I rest my case.:snooty:

You know, this sounds pretty stupid. For one, this woman didn't happen to mention that she's a wiccan. Though they call themselves "white witches", they aren't like the innocent victims that were brandished as witches during the salem witch trial. In saying that, I wouldn't even label myself to be the same as them.

Next, there's gonna be someone that puts up a decoration of hanging a ghost and paranormal groups will get offended. When will it end???

Kids can be cruel. She might be displacing her anger at being teased. :-)

Gee, even in Canada "when one thinks of a noose, a person thinks of several generations of people who were "hung by their necks by a noose and killed by a gang of white people.

THE noose is a symbol of hate, that is why so many people are outraged when a "noose" is attached to a pick up truck and dragged down a street, a noose is hung from a tree, a noose is attached to the door of a University Professor who is black.

A noose is a symbol of hate and intolerance, back in the late 1800, not many crosses burning on front laws, but 3000, people from the late 1800 to 1960's were hung by their neck from a noose, from a tree branch. I can't recall how many people were killed and murdered by a "burning" cross on the front lawn.

So a burning cross really is the advent of "modern" times, but the noose "historically" associated with over a century of hate and the means to hate based on the color of your skin.

Racism in the states really has not decreased if you are not white, but the same ole, same ole. I guess it is done a bit more "discreetly" and not "as open" or "in your face" with bodies strung up from trees.

Ok, I'm Wiccan/Pagan. I'm not offended by this at all. It's just a decoration and Halloween is for all things macabre, as I stated before. People are sooooo senstive anymore. Everyone is always offended over something. It gets really annoying fast. I am just happy to have one holiday a year that I get to see the rest of the nation particpate with me in!

hmmmm, Maybe these neighbors don't get along and she feels it's a shot at her, I dunno, but it does seem in poor taste to do this in an area where so many innocents where sentenced to death because of some delusions due to rye poisoning...and all because of blame from the religious righteous. That just never made sense to me. But I guess those Puritans didn't know which rule to follow..."Thou shall not kill" or "Thou shall not suffer a witch to live" . btw, all that last verse does for me is prove that witches are real and have been through the ages...of course they don't really fly around broomsticks. That was a idea decided by the non-Pagans. A witch's libido is thought to be through the roof and the broomstick symbolizes a penis, a witchy woman's urge to have sex all of the time and use her sexuality to conjure, hex and deceive. Of course I won't deny that....hehehe...
The word witch comes from the phrase "wise woman"...so every woman I know has a little witch in them!

But, anyway...YES, many "witches" were hung. They were also drowned, crushed with large stone AND burned at the stake. It is a time in our history that we should be deeply ashamed of. However, I still think that this woman is overreacting. It's Halloween! Put your big girl panties on and deal with it!

How ironic that this woman is a "witch", her last name is lynch and she is soooo offended. I think that's kinda funny.

I had a relative hanged as a horse thief in the 1800's. He was white.
(I do not know if he really did it or not, just that he was hanged for it.)

Would be interesting to add up everyone in the world who was hanged for any reason, tally up the skin color and see what you come up with.

I'm going to assume (until I see the results) that the answer isn't white OR black. It's an awfully frequent occurance in contries I can't pronounce nor easily point to on a map.

Whenever I get my RSS feed on Amnesty International's work around the world, they talk about hangings all the time - trying to stop this execution or another one - but the hangings are always somewhere where the last names are longer than thirteen letters and they are being hanged for reasons that are really disturbing to hang people for.

Never heard a black man deny that black men on average have huge penises compared to white men, either.

Pick and choose the stereotype you like, and ignore the rest. :-)

 Might as well!
