Family, under pressure, removes its hanged dummy

There is no NAAWP or White Entertainment TV or scholarships for white children etc.

there is white entertainment TV - NBC, CBS, FOX, etc. turn on any of those stations at at any time, the vast majority of characters on the shows will be white.

i've never understood why people get so offended by the existence of a television station.

and there are many scholarships for whites. look up irish ancestry scholarships, italian, polish, german, etc. there are many. i guess its easier to get all offended over scholarships for blacks than to look around.

THANK YOU!!!

Good point, but shouldn't sympathy and understanding go both ways?

Couldn't the people who were offended by the noose dummy say "It's possible this is just a Halloween decoration with no hidden meanings or racial undertones. Although I personally find it offensive and tasteless, I'm sure these people didn't intend to hurt my feelings so I'll just let this pass and look the other way when I pass this house".

Maturity would dictate that the people take down the decoration to spare this person's feelings, but it would also dictate that the person knows not to let a Halloween decoration bother them to the point of getting the police and mayor involved.

Well, we don't know what took place before the police and mayor were involved. They were asked to take it down by multiple people. Judging by their comments to the paper (about how this has just RUINED not only Halloween but also Christmas - WTF???:waitasec: ) the answer was not just no but HELL NO.

It went down hill from there.

.

I asked my friend to go to Texas with me, she was afraid because she is black and was concerned that she may unfortunately run into some "rednecks" that might not appreciate a white women and black women vacationing together. Or a black women. I told her, please, that is never going to happen, this is 2007. She just smiled and changed the subject.
PLEASE!:doh:I have lived in Texas all my life. I am 47 years old. This statement is SOOOOOOOOOO NOT true!~:banghead:

The true test... what would you do if your daughter brought home a black BF?
I would give him the 3rd degree, offer him a coke, and when she is in the other room...let him know if he hurts her in any way I will personally harm him. : ) Why should I treat him any differently than any other guy she might bring home?!

People denying that racism exists also gets boring. Do you know how many times my boyfriend has been told that he isn't considered to be black because he is the whitest black guy they now? Anyone who has been a victim to or witnessed their loved ones experience this, know that it does in fact exist.

That said, my comments have nothing to do with the above article as I haven't read the entire thing yet.

Certainly racism DOES exist. But there are certain people who use their race to play the victim. In my opinion, that is what's getting old.

The father of my niece is black. I would like to preface this by saying I love him to death and I don't give a flying crap what color his skin is. But he complains that he can't keep a job because everyone is racist. Amazing how every boss he's ever had is a racist and fired him because he's black. Maybe it's actually because of the fact that he never showed up for work on time?? Ya think??

You mean he isn't considered to be black by white people or by other black people? The reason I ask is I saw a show about racism between African Americans...how lighter skinned blacks in certain areas were discriminated against by darker skinned blacks, and in OTHER areas the reverse was happening: light skinned blacks were discriminating against darker skinned blacks. It was a very interesting show. I wish I could remember where I saw it.

Sheesh...

THIS PORTION EDITED OUT BY ADMIN IN ORDER TO TRY AND SALVAGE THE REST OF THE POST

Let me add my two cents. When you say derogatory statements of a people of race as a whole, that's a racist statement. Practically a loose textbook definition. As most know in here, I'm a black guy. I have nothing but white friends. But I don't refer to them as my white friend Scott or my white friend Mark. That stipulates that I stereotype them as being white.

Now let me jump out of my stereotype since all blacks fit in the same one for a minute. I tend to think this halloween decoration was just that. A decoration. Nothing in it's display said anything that it was made to look like a black guy/kid/whatever. As far as the clothing, what kid in New Jersey doesn't wear...a jersey? If I were the people, I would have changed the look, but not taken it down.

And finally, let me add that I think most rap MUSIC is bad. I personally don't listen to it. I don't think it's noise. I still prefer the music I grew up on... thrash and grunge!
