One drop of blood should have been seen by nurses and doctors and sent her back to surgery.

she should've been taken back to surgery (OR room, surgeon, anesthesiologist, 2+ scrub nurses etc) after one drop of blood?

is this a serious suggestion? or am i misunderstanding your point?

How is Mr. Dolan going to explain away the lack of facilities willing to take Jahi? He has listed one that is non existent and apparently given the judge the name of one that is willing. However, when I looked at quotes in MSM as of Friday, nothing was said to indicate transfer was on the horizon. I am obviously missing something. TIA.

Saved??

And "Jahi understands what's happening" ?

HUH?!

And the delusions and misleading information continues, I thought they wanted privacy, why continue to tweet.....

Family 'closer than ever' to transferring Jahi McMath

"I said, 'hey Jahi,' and she moved her legs and her arms," Chatman said. "Heart's beating good, she's warm, and she looks beautiful. This is the best glow I've ever seen she's had.

When asked if she thinks the teen understands what's happening, Chatman said, "Yes I do. I know she does!"

They are making progress with relocating her? They were given until Tuesday.
How long is this progress going to take?

I am outta here for tonight, this just nuts.......This lawyer needs to put a stop to all if this, it would better serve this family if he would help them come to terms with this tradegy, but I think that would not further his agenda

I disagree. Most deceased children have the enduring passionate love of their traumatized family in situations such as this. They handle it with varying degress of dignity. Imo, this situation is very low on the scale of dignitiy all around. But I do agree that Jahi is not suffering, as she's dead. So what's the point?

Thanks, Karmady, for bringing me back to sympathizing with this family.

Not sure why my feelings on the subject dictate whether or not one sympathizes with the family. I would think that's an individual decision/feeling. jmo

The tonsils themselves are supplied primarily by branches of the external carotid artery. The internal carotid artery lies approximately 2-2.5cm posteriorly.

1. That data is probably from adult measurements. It is probably less in a child.

2. There are unconfirmed comments by the uncle that Jahi had had two prior surgeries. I don't know what those would have been, but it could have altered the local anatomy and bloodflow in that area.

ITA. I had compassion for this family initially as I know how hard it is to let go. Now I feel as though I am being manipulated by the family and the lawyer. They may not trust CHO, but I don't trust them. And. I don't trust them to do what is in Jahi's best interests. JMO, IMO, JMV

Sorry if I sound like a witch.

It's worth noting that Chatman is the Grandma, a nurse.

Once again, Chapman is an LVN, not an RN.

She has substantially less education than an RN, and vastly less experience than the PICU RN's. She would not be qualified to evaluate much more than blood pressure, heart rate, temp, and respirations. She is certainly not capable of doing a neurologic examination. Any information she has about Jahi's current functional state is only from a very superficial observation and is not based in fact.

Although I'm sure she is good at what she does, she is not a reliable source for reporting on the neurologic function level of the child.

The lawyer is serving himself by suing for Violations of Privacy / Religous Rights for damages for the family and for his attorney fees to be paid.

At this time I personally find it hard to believe that she will ever leave the hospital. Seems to me that the lawyer plans to ask for yet another extension.
Also seems to me that the judge will just keep on granting extensions.

I don't think anything other than "Sure we'll keep her on a ventilator indefinitely and by the way she's TOTALLY going to recover." is going to satisfy the family.

I'm concerned about the legal precedents being set by a judge who IMO just doesn't want to be the bad guy. The child is dead and is beyond being troubled by all this but it will give more fuel to people with very specific agendas and could result in more trouble and heartache for people down the line dealing with end of life issues.

The US could be the first country in the world to build facilities to house dead people so that the families can just sit with their deceased relatives.

How long is this progress going to take?

Let us not forget: a prescription is needed for all the equipment the transfer critical care team needs, prescriptions for "sugar water" and vasopressin, etc etc, a full time attending physician- and a critical care team and facility.

Judge Grillo stated that there will not be an extension in the last order, so I guess they will have to go over his head

Just to keep the facts straight, do you have a link because the following articles says otherwise?

"It's wrong for someone who made mistakes on your child to just call the coroner ... and not respect the family's feeling or rights," Jahi's grandmother, Sandra Chatman, who is a registered nurse, said last week. "I know Jahi suffered, and it tears me up."

Jahi’s grandmother, Sandra Chatman, a registered nurse, reportedly told the media outside the hospital Monday afternoon that Jahi was responding to the voices of loved ones around her.

Jahi's grandmother Sandra Chatman, herself a registered nurse, told reporters outside the hospital in the afternoon that the girl had started to move her legs and appeared to be responding to voices of loved ones around her.

“It’s wrong for someone who made mistakes on your child to just call the coroner … and not respect the family’s feeling or rights,” Sandra Chatman, Jahi’s grandmother and a registered nurse, said in the hallway outside the courtroom.
