She's called Jahi's GAL in Dolan's petitions but I think that's all we know.

I noticed in one of the court docs from Friday, the mother is listed as Guardian.

(I'm chasing the sundown now to finish my outdoor chores or else I'd reference the doc. Will BBL with it unless someone else beats me to it.)

Going through the uncle's twitter...he started getting the media involved on the 14th.

I am not trying to be petty here but they had a normal size Christmas tree in Jahi's PICU room.. right in front of where the gloves are. How serious can the family be. jmo

Well, that pic right there proves it was in the PICU big open room, where 22 other children are, critically ill...did the other 22 get a tree and room for their families to play dominoes, wrap presents and eat??

OMG......! my blood pressure

Re the gofundme site, I've noticed donations slowing for several days. As well, since its inception, I've seen the Total decrease on two occasions, one of which was just this morning. The site does not appear to be updated in terms of messages from Mrs Winkfield but perhaps someone is tending to it on her behalf. Could it be that some persons have requested and been granted refunds (other than the $5 donor cited upthread whom I'd also been tracking)?

From the San Jose Mercury news today: "Dolan insisted in Sunday's interview that "she has not passed. Her kidneys function, she regulates her temperature, and her body moves now more than ever. This is a real human being, not a dead body"

That's interesting because he is recorded in court documents he filed on Dec. 17 saying Jahi is brain dead. He states it twice in his filing.

Them being CHO? I believe the court order absolves CHO of liability after releasing Jahi's body to her Mom . . . . but what do I know

I believe CHO has been trying to relieve itself of this liability since 12 Dec 2013 & since then has been providing care to a declared brain dead body

No, "them" being Dolan and the family.

CHO washes it's hands of this when the transport team switches the vent tubing to their transport vent.

"Sadly ... Mr. Dolan is not being truthful to the public or his clients," Singer said. "When he says his 'medical team' wants to feed her body so her brain will have the optimum nutrients, he is either being purposely deceptive or ignorant. In either case, he is perpetuating a sad and tragic hoax on the public and the McMath family. Tragically, this young woman is dead and there is no food, no medical procedures and no amount of time that will bring back the deceased."

According to the story she first used the word in a note.

But I suppose if uncle wasn't there he wouldn't know.

I just can't believe that she wouldn't have known that she was bleeding. She was thirteen, she knew that she was fresh out of surgery and had a throatful of stitches. She was supposedly bleeding all over her clothes and everywhere and given cups and buckets to spit it in. She knew what blood was without her mom telling her imo.

Some people cannot handle blood or other bodily fluids. Considering the mother passed out and had to be admitted herself, IMO, the mother statement, is based on her own "feelings" about blood.

By the way, at what point did the mother pass out and what did she actually witness? How would passing out affect her clarity of events?

So much for maintaining a sterile environment!

I would think that they will sue CHO for the cost of New Beginnings.

But if New Beginnings makes a mistake that would cause her heart to stop beating or her condition to worsen I can definitely see the family contacting the media and complain about substandard care for their daughter. They are going to have really take superb care of Jahi under some difficult circumstances to please the family and NOT make any errors.

How & why would the family sue for extended care? After CHO declared Jahi brain dead & relinquish responsibility to the Mom . . . . Curious

I highly doubt any services for Jahi have been paid since 12 Dec 2013 & ever will minus the family's donated $$$$$ to her care

In documents filed in federal court on Friday, the director of Children's pediatric intensive care unit said that movements by a brain-dead person are not uncommon and are not an indication that Jahi is alive.

The movements are caused by spinal and muscular reflexes, said Dr. Heidi Flori.

"We anticipate that muscle activity will continue over time, given that Ms. McMath's body is being sustained" by a ventilator, care by a nursing staff and an IV drip providing fluids, salt and carbohydrates, she said.

Nonetheless, the condition of Jahi's body is declining overall, she said.

"The body continues to deteriorate with a gradual decrease in blood pressure," she said.

It is very sad all the way around.

Actually, it's not that sad.

Jahi left this planet 12 Dec 2013

plenty of time to understand

Heck, my sister died on 1 Jan 2014 from liver failure & I have come to grips with it . . .

I'm thinking the family will not touch the hospital bill. They can spend the gofund money as they darned well please.

I think it remains to be seen who did what prior to routine bleeding turning into life threatening bleeding. Did the family provide any food or drinks, like a popsicle, to a patient in intensive care? Did the family handle the suction tube? Did the family have difficulties accepting routine bleeding and, as a result, cause excessive bleeding by incorrectly suctioning blood? How many family members were in the ICU?

If the family in any way interfered with the care of a patient in ICU, then it looks more like the family is trying to cover up their mistake while at the same time trying to shift blame and demand a 30 million dollar award. Personally, I don't think that there is any reason for signed, informed consent to be reversed after the procedure is done.

BBM above: Gma stated such on JVM

wouldn't one think so . . . then listening to a brother who was not even present at the time

She was housed as an inpatient (Jahi's mom is not a ped) at CHO because CHO cared enough to keep her close to her daughter's body - how's that for accommodating?

Of course, they won't pay a dime (except for coffee)! Leaving the medical bill to be paid by the fine tax payers of CA & eventually American tax payers since CA Medicaid is insolvent.

IMHO

Legal questions here: How can there be a malpractice suit unless the surgery went wrong because of a mistake made, rather than just that it was a risky surgery (which people sadly pass from all the time). Or unless an actual mistake was made after surgery. I didn't think you could file a malpractice suit just because someone died due to a complicated surgery/recovery!? Also, for a wrongful death suit ... can that even be filed as the family itself it stating over and over she isn't dead. How can they file a death suit on someone they believe to be alive?!

Please see the video and comments upthread: she plainly stated that "CHO wants someone who's paying in that bed"
