Is she still on the hospital ventilator or did they transfer her to another one????

Constitutional rights were violated? The ADA was violated???? GMAB

There's the $33 million argument in a nutshell.

It's rather nice that he's outlining his lawsuit in public like this so the CHO insurers and their cadre of lawyers can get a good start on the defense.

and..... I am unplugging myself from this "presser". This is a couple of money hungry men profiting from the ignorance and grief of a mom. Effed up.

"The hospital told the family that they don't need the family permission to unplug her and do not need parental consent. This is not true"

The law does not require parental consent, though. Didn't we research that in one of the threads earlier?

Well now... wouldn't THAT have been an important (possibly irrefutable) moment to catch on camera? Jahi smiling...

WTF- this man is not right in the head.

I feel like none of us are right in the head, we're all in some bizarre, insane, group dream or something. This can't be real.

Is this real life?

Uncle now saying no autopsy because she is alive?

Omari doesn't think that an autopsy will be necessary as she is living.

But didn't CD just say that she's going to die any minute because CHO treated her so badly?

  • #267
Can you believe he used the words "half a brain"? Wow.

  • #268
People do lose so much blood, crash and die in hospitals.... it happens!

  • #269
Backtracking on suing CHO and/or the treating physicians right now.

He is parsing his words VERY carefully. I'm sure what the judge said is that the parents have rights UNTIL the independent assessment was done, and that he wasn't sure he had enough evidence of whether it was independent within the meaning of the H&S. Therefore, he ordered the independent exam and then confirmed that the parents didn't have any more rights subject ONLY to their right to appeal that conclusion -- hence the 1 week extension and the settlement terms. I feel very confident about that. jmo

Omari doesn't think about suing and money, he's thinking about saving the child's life. But who knows about the future, he says.

"Suing is far from our minds right now"

I just snorted so loud, I think they may have heard me at the presser... and I'm in Atlanta.

  • #273
What judge said he has acted completely ethically??

  • #274
Now it's all about him (CD).

He was very careful, I should have said it was a quote from Omari, one of those, "why don't you tell them now" things.

Omari doesn't get to decide whether she'll need an autopsy.

I'm beginning to agree with an upthread post that Dolan is chosing to avoid the malpractice issue because the family's actions in the PICU after surgery may be contributiong factors to her bleeding and he can't risk having her death attributed to their defiance of the RN orders.

I've read about some crazy s**t on WS but this defies all logic. How can this have gone on for so long? Are we going to allow people to take their family member's dead bodies home for awhile til they have gotten used to idea that they are dead? Somebody (judge, coroner, ethics committee) should have put an end to this 3 weeks ago. Heartbreaking and horrible. Now this Dolan idiot is going to pressure the family to keep her "alive" just to save face.:facepalm::facepalm:

So evasive on where she is. She is either at home or a relative's home. He is being very very careful with his answers. IMO

OMG! I'm with the posters who said they had to turn off the presser as could not bear to see/hear the (insert bad word here) directly. Will read about it later. Also think I need to head in for a shower now too.
