Can someone explain this to me, maybe with crayon if need be...

No trach or g-tube was inserted as CHO refused to preform procedures on a corpse on the grounds of ethics. This was validated by the court. So trying to peg them for "starving" her is out. I get that one.

If (when) she suffers cardiac arrest, which would in the mind of NW be the actual death of her daughter, how can they file a suit against the hospital for the brain death the didn't even believe in?!

Or will they claim that the cardiac arrest that "killed" her was brought on by CHO? And would they even be able to use that since legally she was already dead anyhow? Also did the agreement to remove her from CHO potentially remove any culpability on CHOs part?

Like it was pointed out up thread a lawsuit is going to force them to name facilities and professionals who (purportedly) attended to her after leaving CHO. Are they really going to be willing to compromise either a) the people who helped them, or b) the fallacies in their stories over the last month......

"The only thing I can equate it to is a hostage negotiation," Dolan said. "As soon as we would get one obstacle cleared, another obstacle would appear."

During a late Monday morning press conference, Dolan confirmed Jahi was now "safely where she needs to be," in a facility where she's receiving nutritional support including potassium, minerals and hormones. She's also getting antibiotics to combat possible infection that Dolan said she may have suffered while at Children's Hospital.

Sealey also said the family was relieved, grateful and happy Jahi's body had been moved and added that, although the family believes she is still alive, they will only come to terms with death if her other organs fail.

"We're not going to play God," Sealey said. "If her heart stops beating while she's hooked to the ventilator, we can accept that."

Is the reporter taking liberties or did OS really say that they're happy that Jahi's body has been moved?

A couple of days ago he was expecting a full recovery, now he's setting up organ failure.

"Dr. Byrne is an American neonatologist and pediatrician from St. Louis, Missouri."

"Dr. Byrne also seems to have completely forgotten his basic physiology. I'm sure he learned in medical school, just as I did, that the lungs and heart both function independently of the brain. The heart can still beat and the lungs can still ventilate (move air in and out) and respirate (exchange oxygen for carbon dioxide) without input from the brain. But Dr. Byrne incorrectly says, "After true death chest compressions or a ventilator can only move air; there cannot be respiration, because respiration is a function of a living human body." This is patently false - respiration is a function of functional lungs, NOT of a living body. Lungs simply do not require a brain to do their job. "

I thought he'd been referred to as a neurologist. But no matter; after reading this, I'm doubtful I'd even send my child to him for a sore throat.

Poor rat...

That's an insult to Chuck E. Cheese...

Chuck E. looks very conflicted about being in this photo op.

Dolan and Omari's internet footprints aren't doing them any favors. What they are saying in the pressers is bad enough, but this kind of stuff is just juvenile and not something a professional should be doing.

He's so ETHICAL, y'all!

Everything you just asked, ALL.VALID.QUESTIONS.

I am surprised that a facility even accepted Jahi because of the undertones of lawsuits via the attorney and uncle, and of course the family raking CHO over the coals in press.

One more thought to add regarding the family contacting the mayor: I think they're confusing Jahi's tragic circumstances with those of a convicted murderer on death row wherein a governor can issue a stay of execution.

Someone needs to inform them that there is no comparison & that no one is trying to execute beautiful Jahi. Not that they would listen, sadly.

Was she ever given nutrients? If not, how could they be withdrawn? She wasn't being given nutrients before, during or immediately following her surgery. Other than some IV glucose (or whatever electrolyte maintenance fluid they use) had she ever been given nutrients? I don't think she was.

Calling Dr. Bombay... anyone know?

Perhaps he meant 'withhold' nutrients.

This was something I had wondered initially. Since she was pronounced dead on the 12th they had no legal obligation to do anything more than what they did, and refusal for doing a g-tube was validate by the court more than once. I'm not sure what the standard is for administering nutrients to critical patients in the 72 hour span between her surgery and the 2nd doctor calling it. Hopefully someone with that knowledge can chime in.

How much actual nutrition would she have had at home recovering in the same time period while still adhering to post-op directions?

So Dolan deleted his twitter account all together? The link back came up no account exists.

Jahi may not make it through the day Mail Online

"Dolan added that she had arrived at a secret facility this morning where she was receiving the best treatment available.
But he said it was touch and go whether she 'would make it'.
'Jahi is in worse shape than we thought,' Dolan said. 'The hospital’s withdrawal of nutrients has caused her to deteriorate more rapidly than we thought. It is just sad. They have starved her.'
Asked whether doctors hired by the family were going to fit a feeding tube, he said that they were assessing the situation right now.
'Because of the amount of damage to her throat she is not doing very well,' he said."

It's impossible to starve a dead person. I can't wait to see how Dolan is going to argue how it's possible to starve a dead person.

I do not twitter or tweet, but did click on the link posted for the uncle's account. His posts are disturbing, to say the least, but the most offensive and shocking thing I saw straight off was the quote at the top of his page:

"Not interested in getting my followers up, just worried about getting them Dollars UP!"

Side note: I have been a fan for a long time and finally got around to registering. Forgive me for any mistakes I may make as I get used to using this board. :seeya:

Dude.Wait.WHAT?!?!? bbm -- Was this a real tweet from uncle? :sigh:

A couple of days ago he was expecting a full recovery, now he's setting up organ failure.

In reading this article, Mr. Dolan stated that 5 facilities had agreed to take Jahi and then most dropped out due to the media circus. Is it just me, or is he the one causing the media circus with all these press conferences? I thought they wanted peace. Why does CD seem to keep stirring the proverbial pot? Very puzzled.

I don't see how it will make any difference in court what he says about starving. The court ordered CHO to keep doing what they were doing and nothing more.

They family and attorney, failed to relocate her when they should have and drug out the time that she was at CHO.

You know, with all of the absolutely crazy stuff we've seen in this case, a giant Rat suing an attorney for slander would be almost "normal".

It occurs to me that they can't get the gtube and/or trach in...because her body has decomposed sooooooo much that there is nothing left.

And that makes me literally cry. Do NOT research 25 days' post mortem photos...because you will never be able to get the pix out of your mind. I know Jahi's body was not as bad as some I've looked at, because she was in hospital and she was vented.

But for God's sake, let her body go. She's not "warm", she's not "worse than expected", she's not anything like that.

She's dead. And it sucks. But she's dead.

The LSD comment, and the Twilight Zone comment, and the Monty Python comment were perfect for this situation...because this just cant be happening. Can't be, you know?
