I made it through ten minutes. First and last time I will ever watch the show.

They started off calling it a routine/simple procedure or tonsillectomy. Sorry, those are not the exact words.

One host's family has a business dealing with med mal practice. So, she quickly jumps in talking about the cap.

She is making insinuations about the hospital fault. Nothing like jumping the gun before getting any documentation on what really happened.

Just one more person using Jahi for their agenda. IMO

I confess, I read her views in tweets yesterday so I didn't watch it but I wanted to post it in case there was anything positive from the show. Thanks for those who watched and posted!

Since everyone is so interested, the charitable funds were used for the cost of moving Jahi out of the hospital to her new location

Everyone tweets negative stuff, but none of you came down to the hospital when I was there to share your thoughts. Cowards behind a screen!!

NOT 1 person the entire month I was there, but tweets are coming left and right now

@R @E Hospital still hasn't told us What happen. When we find out, everyone else will :-*

Talk about showing your TRUE colors!! #YellowTails

I normally don't indulge in negativity thrown my way but some things needed to be addressed. I will now go back to being silent.

His new profile picture and cover photo are quite ... ego centric. Did CD finally put a cork in him? I mean why else would someone so hell bent on being in the public eye suddenly lock down his ever so amusing twitter feed? :scared:

I saw it posted on twitter and was watching it, before you posted it here. I was debating on posting it and discussing it.

There was a lot left out and skirted over. They discuss how they should have had a independent doctor brought in to examine Jahi or other doctors of the families choice. She goes into the hospital having a incentive to remove support because of the cap. Finally in the end she makes a brief blip about another doctor from outside examining her but then a doctor of the families choice not be allowed to give his opinion. (she was referring to Byrne :banghead:)

She discusses the ballot initiative and how it came about, which I wish I could talk about, but I'm afraid it would be O/T, so I won't go there.

The BHL (Black Hollywood Live) video showed two attorneys/hosts who didn't know the facts of the JM case; seemed to be placing all the blame and responsibility on CHO; but the attorneys/hosts most important message/bottom-line was that the $250K cap has just got to be removed or the cap raised. Surprise, surprise! JMO

Additionally, I can't believe I listened to the whole thing! :notgood:

I finished watching it too! I thought maybe there would be a miraculous recovery of facts somewhere, but sadly no.

That tweet from earlier today.... in the court filings the family and lawyer requested the court to seal all medical info in this case that was filed with the court. How does he figure we will find out when they do, all the family has done is hide the court facts thus far. jmo

I was hoping they'd be giving out a free ginsu knife at the end of the program. As least, after having listened to the whole thing, I think somebody owes me something! :D

Saleh's bedside as he recovers in the ICU after surgery. Saleh Khalaf, 10, has brain surgery at Children's Hospital Oakland to remove a piece of shrapnel that has been lodged in his brain since an explosion near his home in Iraq.

From text of the story itself:

This week, at the Oakland hospital where his life was saved, he faced a final medical hurdle -- the removal of shrapnel from his brain...

...He had tried to convince Saleh that they should postpone the surgery at Children's Hospital Oakland, but Saleh held firm

They're saying that the reason Jahi is brain dead is because no one came to intubate her and secure her airways in time so she choked on her own blood and was without oxygen for ten minutes

Have we seen anyone say anything about that? The story so far has been that she bled out and went into cardiac arrest and nothing about when or if she was intubated and how long she was without oxygen.

I will take everything this family says with a grain of salt. Many people that don't have a medical background can't even tell you what conditions they have for what they take medications for, what surgeries they've had in their life, etc. Medical processes seem too complicated for some lay persons to understand sometimes. Of course not every person that is not in the medical field are this way but I see a majority that are. I feel like the family is more like that. They don't understand what happened to Jahi and I'm sure are spilling mis-facts left and right whether they know it's incorrect or not. I hope that we will one day be able to hear the hospital's story, from medical professionals that understand how the human body works and what can go wrong. I would think the family would prevent this as long as possible because there are probably facts they don't want everyone to know about, so they can stay the victims here. I doubt the hospital would be making statements about wishing to tell the story of what happened if it would reflect poorly on the hospital.

Is it true that their insurance company is paying for the care of a deceased person? There are so many ALIVE people that get denied for care they need!!! :banghead:

No kidding. I have very expensive private insurance (I'm part time and DH is self-employed). I recently had a colonoscopy. The insurance paid for the screening portion but refused to cover removal of ONE pre-cancerous polyp. To the tune of $1300!. Seriously?!?!?!

The show I watched at HuffPo the other day... one of the guests said to Dolan that no insurance company pays for a deceased person anywhere. jmo

I'm pretty sure that is not true. Anyone who doubts it, just call your insurance company and ask them how long they will cover "medical expenses" for a deceased person. I'm pretty sure they will laugh you off the phone! :twocents:

Yeah, if they won't pay for removal of a polyp, which could save my life (not to mention save them $$ for cancer treatment), then I cry foul on paying for treatment for deceased persons!

My guess is either legal advice or the inevitable happened and he doesn't want to have to eat his words, so he's hiding them.

Wishful thinking on his part, if that is the case. I Guarantee.... He will not only eat his words, he will most likely choke on them! :twocents:
