The pic of NW kissing Jahi is now up on the WS- allowed "Keep Jahi McMath on Life Support" Facebook page. No indication as to the date of the pic.

The caption for this picture is beautiful IMO.

“A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity. It dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.
This is a beautiful picture of Jahi and her mother Nailah. God please heal and wake Your beautiful child, Jahi, through the love of her mother. A mother does her part faithfully, patiently, lovingly and happily by caring, loving, praying, and then, she quietly waits for God to do His part.

IMO this says it all. God bless this family.

She has a surgically places tracheostomy tube in her neck. It exits down by the notch you can feel by running your own finger down your windpipe- it is hidden in this picture.

Thanks nicemaryjean! :)

Dang, those pics are creeping me out. I wish these people would just GO AWAY.

Hi seattle, I think what we see is the sinking of her eyes into death. She definately looks dead. God Bless her. Why cant they see she is in His arms.:loveyou:

_____
P.S. From the looks of her hand in FB. picture page I'd say they have a hard time getting in her veins.
did they replentish her blood supply?..I wonder about so much of her physical being.

Most of those peoples' families are denying the medical and legal pronouncements of death and milking people for money. This family does both.

I guess I just don't quite see it with the same amount of cynicism. I think a lot of families are just conflicted. That's it. It doesn't mean that money is a motive -- especially when you consider how much money it costs to keep them "alive."

I think we need to remember that we do not know Jahi -- she does not belong to us. Compassion can take you far, but not all the way. We can look at the situation from an objective point-of-view and think that everything is obvious. We can tell Jahi's mother that it's ok to let go -- but we are not Jahi's mother and we do not feel the commitment toward her.

A lawyer might be wheeling & dealing in the background here, but just perhaps to the family they simply needed this lawyer to help them hold onto their little girl. Perhaps at this point they are willing to be less private if their lawyer told them it would help with medical expenses.

I just find the entire situation heartbreaking and can't bring myself to vilify Jahi's family.

No way to determine the date any of these were taken, or authenticate them.

Definitely showing signs of foot drop. (Which probably makes it easier to paint the toenails-- and several different polish jobs, so probably taken at different times.) But that's to be expected. Can somewhat be prevented with good care, booties to put the foot in anatomic position, blanket lifters, etc. Not a huge big deal, with her prognosis. No obvious heel ulcers, so that indicates pretty good care.

Her hydration and perfusion in her lower extremities is actually pretty good, for the shape she's in, IMO-- better than I expected. But she has a 13 year old heart, so maybe that's just the youth of the pump. (Esp as per Dr. Alan Shewmon's research.)

She has some mottling in the feet-- again, not a big deal, considering her condition. I wouldn't expect her peripheral circulation to be "perfect". Can see obvious atrophy in her hands and calves, and definite weight loss-- but not as much as I would have expected. About what Dr. Shewmon's research would have predicted.

Her eyes in the one pic actually look unnaturally protuberant thru the lids-- far more prominent than in the living pics of her, but maybe the lids have just retracted a bit, combined with loss of orbital fat. I suppose it's possible there was some photo editing/ enhancing. But maybe not.

Mostly, the pics show foot drop, and a comatose patient. And foot drop can happen within a few weeks, or over months. We have no way to "date" the pics.

There is nothing in the pics to me that indicates her situation is any different, or more "alive", than it was in December 2013. Just more debilitated/ atrophied over time.

I don't know what else to say except that I seriously feel like I'm going to be sick.

This poor child! They are basically playing dress-up with her dead body! I can't stand it anymore. :furious:

That website is absolutely disgusting and the people commenting...make me sick.

I agree. But I also think the comments on the "other" FB site are equally disturbing. JMO. I am interested in the pictures, though-- that is somewhat more objective information than any family reports about her condition. However, we can't date the pics, and have no idea if the pics have been enhanced or altered-- or if they are even pics of Jahi at all.

As I posted above, if those are Jahi's body, I don't think her body looks all that bad, for the shape she's in, and the prognosis she has. I think her body has had pretty good care. That doesn't make her any more "alive". And clearly she was "dead" enough in December for the medical criteria, the courts, and the coroner. What we see, IMO, is the result of the effort to maintain her shell for 6 months-- prolonged somatic support, with a youthful heart pump.

I do feel so sorry for her mom-- sitting with her, and believing she will "rise up"-- and all those misguided people cheering her on. That is so unbearably cruel, IMO. The message should have been consistent-- she is brain dead, and there is no hope of her awakening. The perversion of that message has caused this mother to delay facing reality.

OTOH-- the heart won't beat forever. And when it finally stops, NW will be able to feel content that she did all she could, and prayed as hard as she and everyone else could. IMO, they will find some comfort eventually in interpreting her heartstop as "God calling her home".

I don't agree with what they chose to do. IMO they should have let her go.
I still can't bash her mother. I still have nothing but compassion for her.

I sincerely don't understand the blatant hatred for this mother and all of the ugly & hateful comments directed at her and her child. ( specifically speaking about those FB comments) IMO those that made the comments...I'm more concerned about their motives and what kind of person they are.

All IMO

Great post! I feel the same way.
This world needs more compassion and less cynicism.

Having read volumes of scientific literature on brain injury, she's working to have Jahi's death certificate revoked so that she can qualify for medical benefits.

http://www.essence.com/2014/06/05/jahi-mcmath-nailah-winkfield/

If, ginormous IF, NW was successful in revoking JM's CA death certificate and
another ginormous IF NW was successful in qualifying JM for medical benefits ...

from which state would those funds most likely come - NJ (JM's current
hosting state and state of JM's resurrection) or CA (JM's home state and
state of her death)? TIA

Why not ONE ENTIRE photo of Jahi? Why photos of her body without her face? Her hands or her legs only? Why barely her face, at all? Why not normal, entire photos? Why? Why not a video of her moving?

That is what bothers me- the manipulation. Not the denial.

I think this situation is awful and that she has no hope of recovery and the family is in total denial, but I agree with the fact that I'd worry more about the posters who actively seek out the story and then speculate about how the family must have only bad intentions. The media is barely covering this anymore in most places, so it's not like it's in people's faces as it was at one point. The objective viewpoint of outsiders is clearly not controlling in such situations for the average person. There are many more emotions involved that make people act crazily. I don't think anyone would trade places with them, even if they somehow managed to get a huge amount of money out of this. It's not an enviable situation, regardless of the motives of everyone involved, and criticizing them probably pushes them further into denial and a desire to "win".

Because corpses after almost seven months don't look too cute. ;)
