I've recently listened to a podcast about this case. I was curious if anyone has come up with the idea that maybe someone stayed in the house from the night of the christmas light tour to the night of her disappearance? Perhaps someone came over that night and never left until the morning the note was found. The home was 4 floors and she was found in the wine cellar. This person could have easily hidden out in the home and was creeping around it at night while the family slept. This would explain the 2.5 page ransom note written with a pen from the home as well as paper from the residence. Not to forget the, "no forced entry" statement. This person wrote his note in the shadows within the home. Afterwards, he went to JonBenet's room and gently scooped her out of bed and carried her down to the basement where the unthinkable happened to this poor girl. Afterward, they left the note on the bottom step of the first floor stairs before slipping out the front door unnoticed.

I wonder if LE ever questioned all the guests that were in the home the night of the light tour, that is, if they all could have been reached...

This is a far fetched guess... any thoughts?

P.s. I think it to be total B.S. that Patsy and John were even the slightest on LE mind as suspects, JS.

What is a light tour?

It's when mom and dad are frantically trying to clean up the catastrophic situation in the middle of the night and dump the blame on another.

So, they stayed in the house for over 730 nights? They let two Christmases pass, and decided to kill on the night of the third Christmas?

No, they had an xmas light tour IN their home like 2 or 3 days prior to her discovery on the morning of the 26th 1996. JonBenet was also reportedly the one touring the guests around the home.

They had a Christmas party on the 23rd, with family and friends as guests. There was no xmas light tour. They had opened their home to a holiday tour in 1994 - is that what you are talking about? It was two years prior to JonBenet's murder.

Possibly so then. I guess I misheard

The reports I've heard is that JonBenet gave Bill 'Santa' a tour of their home multiple times in past years.

Why not take? Instead of killing her. Why the bash on her head? If bash reasoned out then why stay around to garrote?

Ransom note but nobody to ransom for?

No. There were 4 people in the house. One died and one or more of the other 3 killed her and covered it up.

The bottom line, it's as simple as that. Now if the mystery surrounding her death could be that simple.

( I'm Pasty covering for Burke w/o John being in the loop after he found her later that morning when he "checked" the mail, then cya from that point on.)

Christmas night would be a great time to break into a million-dollar home. Valuable presents sitting around, everyone exhausted from the holiday.

There was no other family present at the Ramsey home that night, and they weren't even around most of the day/evening. No animals or security there either.

And if you're looking to specifically inflict trauma on the Ramsey family, Christmas would be a great time to do it. Ruin every Christmas for them for years.

Yeah... but killing the person in which you sat around and wrote a long ransom note does not make sense any way you work it. Would it not be easy to actually take JB from the home if the kidnapper/killer had so much free time?

You can look at it both ways- one, everyone is tired/exhausted--- two, everyone is anxious/excited/up-tight about Christmas.

The theory regarding this is that the person know the family's schedule, and knew they would be gone all day. They entered the home in the afternoon, and had hours to practice/write the ransom note on the notepad before the family returned. Once the family did return, the intruder could hide in the basement, or under JBR's bed, waiting for everyone to fall asleep.
