It doesn't say that she gave them a brush Caylee had never used, does it? It just says she didn't give them the one Caylee EXCLUSIVELY used. So unless the brush handed over had never, ever been used by Caylee, I don't think we'll see obstruction or tampering charges.

What is more interesting is why LG would know about this at all. Did Cindy tell him? If she did, did she tell him because she didn't think she had done anything wrong? or did she confess to him that she tried to hide evidence? Context would be appreciated!

Both Caylee and Casey would have the same DNA anyway. I'm sure that at some point, Casey brushed Caylee's hair with her own brush. Maybe Cindy knew that the brush she gave them would also have Caylee's hair in it so since they wanted it for comparison to the hair found in the trunk... what possible difference could it make.
I don't trust Garrison.... he could have made those emails up. Emails can be faked pretty easily.

A link to LE having a hair sample of Caylee's? It's simply common sense. The forensics showed that other hairs found in the trunk belonged to Caylee - obviously the lab compared them to something. If LE needed Caylee's hair and didn't have it, they'd get a search warrant.

Why not give them the better brush in the first place? Caylee's brush? Oh yeah, she didn't feel like walking the extra steps into the bathroom.

We don't have the email from LG to Cindy where he asks about the brush. I think that's very relevant in determining Cindy's motivation in choosing to give them one brush over the other.

I am so angry right now. For Caylee, on her behalf. She deserves so much more.

IF CA has obstructed an investigation and they do not charge her I think I will explode. I disagree that this is not a big deal. It shows CA's morality, her make up, her nature. She KNEW LE wanted a hair brush that Caylee specifically used, but what did she give them? She gave them one that KC and Caylee used, telling herself that technically she is giving them what they asked for. That is NOT a grandmother who is looking for truth and justice for her murdered grandbaby.

True, the lab can figure it out. But the wrong brush would likely give fewer samples and take the lab longer to sort them out.

But the more important fact is the insight it gives everyone to CA's intent. That's why it's important.

Caylee and Casey would not have the same DNA - everyones DNA is different - they have some of the same strands as all females in the genetic line - DNA forensics is tricky - I know that when I was on jury duty and the forensics experts were on the stand it was so hard to follow (and boring - it was definately snooze land - tho we couldn't snooze it was hard to not be very bored - and you couldn't look at the defendent a lot - it was just hard)

A link to where you recalled reading that the hairbrush contained both Casey and Caylee's hair. I disagree. This is every bit as bad as it sounds. No excuses or spin is going to make this one sound better.
