My son is currently stationed at Camp Pendleton. I haven't talked to him, but my understanding is many in the housing and school areas have been evacuated. My son did tell me last weekend, that the wind has been relentless for weeks and everything is very dry. Their fire fighting teams have been on alert for awhile.

I'm a San Diego local, the Bernardo Fire that started yesterday is just across the freeway from us. My boyfriend and I have family in Fallbrook,Carlsbad and Oceanside. It's very scary here! Memories of the 2003 fires are flooding back

This is bad news. My sisters house overlooks Cal State San Marcos. She runs a sewing lounge in Encinitas and her daughter who has Down syndrome is unreachable at the Boys and Girls club in San Marcos.

Rawhide Ranch is a beloved horse camp that my daughters and I go to.

I am heartbroken and afraid.

I spoke to my sis, she is at the sewing lounge, someone was calling on the other line so we hung up. I spoke to my nephew- her son- and he was just leaving work in San Diego and hadn't heard a thing about it yet. I copied the tweets and texted them to him. I am sure everything will be fine. I am praying!

Many exit roads are closed.

We went thru the 2003 and 2007 fires and evacuations.

Many friends and customers lost their homes.

I am just waiting for evacuation orders.

Don't anticipate sleep tonight.

Kali/Dee, I am praying. Please stay safe and ahead of anything. These winds are crazy and the heat is a big factor. The winds are unpredictable and are going to be very hard for FF to get a handle on. (((((hugs)))))
