Honestly, I don't think she "confessed", rather she was caught lying due to the pile of evidence proving her story didn't add up.

I don't know how foster parents can have a baby for 16 months and then turn them over to the monsters who put the child in jeopardy to begin with. I would be up all night every night with worry. I would fight to keep him with every dime I have - which is against all the rules of fostering. These poor people must be in agony. Pray for them, they gave Jordan the only good part of his short life and you know they love him like one of their own children. Heartbreaking.

My heart is shattered for them. I've had my grands for 5years, all of her life and we've had him since he was a year old. They're 5&6 and our youngest son is 7, hubby and I live with the nauseating fear of losing them one day. If we cou ld, we'd have the best attorneys in earth and adopt them to give them the security they deserve! They're young enough that they have no idea of the what ifs.... They're innocent, perfect little happy kids.

Thank you for that link. So has Florida's child welfare system always been community based?

I can recall from years ago how some FL child abuse cases would make national news, I'd hear it on the 6 o'clock news with my parents and Dad would make a comment about it, not a very good one, not just because he used to be a policeman but also because he loved certain things about FL (the east coast beaches, Ft Lauderdale, etc).

It is a problem, a tragic problem, a system that needs changing. Big time.

My heart would soften a tiny bit if someone in the “family” mentioned the “real” family and I don’t know maybe thanked them for raising what sounds like a fun, charismatic little cherub.

Eta I understand people leaving stuffies and stuff but I wish we donated things like that to those who would benefit from it. In this case all those should have been donated to foster kids leaving their homes.
All will be ruined as soon as it rains. Again I understand the sentiments of it. But like Bella Grogan (sp?) thy started leaving painted rocks. I liked that idea.
