Has it been established that it was photoshopped?

I personally didn't even notice it until someone blew it up in here earlier? Are we sure the media photoshopped it and not some random person on the internet?

He does not have to prove anything to the public it is in police hands. As far as bounty and death threats just goes to show how the mob mentality thinks. They do anything and they will have to face police charges .So not so smart on their part.No way can Justice be bullied IMO.Police have all the facts and did not press charges.

My bolding

I may be wrong but they won't charge him prior to the grand jury convening in April would they?

Well actually it is now in the FBI and the DOJ's hands. I trust their investigative skills a whole lot more than I do the SPD's. But that's JMHO.

I really hope we get some news tomorrow or by Tuesday at least. They have been on-site now for quite a few days and I bet they worked all weekend as well.

Well, if I had people so mad at me that some wanted to put a bounty on my arrest, and some were making death threats.....If I had any information that might help them see that I actually did have injuries and proof of what those injuries were, I believe I would have my Attorney release it instead of letting people believe that I really wasn't injured at all, waiting to release the information is not going to make it anymore powerful later on ....If he has this proof he has it, and thinking that he is going to ambush the prosecution and the public with it later is kinda ridiculous IMO JMHO and stuff
Or he might realize that it probably won't matter either way... It's his right to abstain from giving anything to the media.

Them printing out a document with the wrong header, and not signing a copy of a police report that's distributed to the press. Do any of these issues materially or intrinsically affect anything?

I think they do. I think they show a pattern of the city and the police department selectively releasing evidence in a case to justify to an enraged public their call to not arrest Zimmerman. They even go so far as to release the names and addresses and phone numbers of people who have been robbed. Somehow they are trying to imply those robberies have anything to do with the case of homicide committed by Zimmerman. Not even Zimmerman or his lawyer have claimed they have anything to do with the case.

They could if they felt there was enough probable cause to effect an arrest. Currently, it seems like that's questionable so they decided to hand it over to a jury of Zimmerman's peers. Florida does not require a grand jury to indict.

Police did not have the girlfriend's statement, cannot say for certain who was screaming for help, and they overlooked a potential racial slur...Whether or not any of those is significant remains to be seen, but I would respectfully disagree with the notion that police had/have all the facts...

Are you sure that media outlets did not request the burglary reports, since it does seem to be a big part of why Zimmerman was following Trayvon?

I'm also not sure how a mislabeled header and no signatures means they've selectively released anything. If anyone is definitively being selective, it's the mainstream media.

The various versions of Trayvon's photo are a non-starter in this thread. That discussion will not lead to any further conclusions about what happened the night he was killed.

We will consider the idea of a separate thread to discuss media reporting and how it has affected the case, but for the time being, please drop the discussion of these images.

Hence he may have legitimately been in fear for his life. So far I believe Trayvon started the scuffle.

I believe than GZ got too close for comfort/into his face to Tray and he bopped him one. And I feel he had every right to do so in self defense in order to get rid of this scary harassing white dude menace.
I have not seen a full picture of GZ yet but he sounds chubby and not all muscles and Tray was an athlete/football player who probably could sport a good punch..

Here's a question -

We know the FBI and DOJ are there. They will have access to everything - obviously. What happens if the FBI asks SPD - "ok, where are the pictures of GZ's injuries?" or "I'm sure you took crime scene pix before moving the body - can we see those?" or " we would like to see any and all surveillance tapes from the complex." And, there aren't any. Then what? What would the FBI and DOJ do then?

I'm not as trusting of myself as you might think. When I was on Ambien for some sleep issues a while back, I actually felt compelled to unload all of my weapons and give them to my parents for safe-keeping in case I decided to go zombie hunting in my sleep.

Sorry for the OT, if anyone cares.

When I knew I was going to go through a divorce I gave my guns to my daughter for safe keeping. I knew the whirlwind was coming.

BBM

And while the police have said that they don't have any evidence to refute Zimmerman's claims of self-defense, the investigators had a different story when they visited her family about a week after the shooting, Brown said.

"That investigator said flat out that we don't think it was self-defense," Brown said, recalling the day the police came to interview Austin. "Several times he said, 'I have kids, and I'm going to tell you something that I don't tell many people.' He looked at me and said, 'You have to read between the lines. There's some stereotyping going on.'"

She continued: "He stood here in my family room telling me that this guy [Zimmerman] is not right and it wasn't self-defense and that they have to prove that it wasn't. He was adamant about that. I don't know if that was to make me less uncomfortable or to make us feel that he was on our side."

Arrest them!

No really, I have no idea?

I would think a serious investigation into the whole group? At least?

Really I have no idea what the media requested but that web page is not labeled for media release and it is on the city website and they posted it with all the names, phone numbers and addresses of the victims.

They blocked out all the names of the witnesses and addys and phone numbers in the partial reports they posted on the site.

That's very responsible of you, and I wish more people took gun safety this seriously.

  • #778
That's what I'm wondering. If someone has a gunshot wound to the chest couldn't chest compressions cause even more damage?
I realize that Tray was already dead but would police even attempt to do them with a gunshot to the chest?

As a First responder, it is not their decision to decide whether to do CPR - if the victim is not breathing and has no pulse CPR has to be performed, regardless of the injuries.

Since Zimmerman was never questioned, I wonder who he was talking to when he said he was screaming for help, but no one would help him...

Zimmerman was questioned at the police station by a narcotics detective. We just have not seen that statement yet. It is probably still a work in progress to make it dovetail with the hard facts that can not be corrupted in a big CYA operation..

Have you shot anyone? I'm just asking, because that's a lot of thinking after you've shot someone? I would think the instinctive thing to do would be to drop the gun and continue screaming for help?

I would not drop it.What if someone came and grabbed it and shot you!
