Anytime you are suspended, the entire campus is an unauthorized area. I've seen it happen when a kid is suspended from school, he picks up his girlfriend and gets caught on school grounds, and his suspension is extended?

His mother said it was his first day of suspension, IIRC, and he went to stay with his dad 250 miles away. The video where they are sitting at a press conference and the grandmother is there.

That wouldn't make what you're saying wrong, because they may have suspended him that day, and he didn't leave the grounds as he was told to do, adding more time to his original suspension. I wouldn't know because it's been a very long time, I was suspended once in grade school for passing a note :blushing:

So if the school suspends anyone for tardiness, the school is breaking a law?

That would appear to be the case per the statute I posted.

IMO the only thing relevant about Trayvon's suspension to the circumstances of his death is that if it hadn't happened, he would have been at home in Miami that night and would never have found himself in GZ's sights.

JMO.

Yeah, but I read he had visited his father there before...so we don't know if he was ever going to visit again...

I'm also fully convinced that George Zimmerman would have eventually ended up killing someone...if it wasn't Trayvon, it would have been another young black male. JMO MOO IMO

Okay, well that throws my theory out of the window?

Suspended for passing a note? That's brutal! Did it have curse words in it? :floorlaugh:

Yes, thank you for clarification. I saw the statute you posted after I asked the question. Now I think that Florida High school might want to take that out of their handbook!!

Yes it did! I'm very happy that we all didn't just throw our hands up and walk away after that verdict and ignore other cases. I've found my way around since the trial ended and I am shocked everyday at the cases being reported. It really can eat at your soul, but I would rather be no where else than here? I love Websleuths!

BEM: I agree, but my fridge is empty and the tub need to be cleaned lol

That's what I'm wondering. If someone has a gunshot wound to the chest couldn't chest compressions cause even more damage?
I realize that Tray was already dead but would police even attempt to do them with a gunshot to the chest?

That is an EMT question. He had no pulse and if he was shot straight in the heart , there really would not be much blood since there was no pumping/pressure action.
I guess better safe than sorry applies here.

A couple.

:floorlaugh:

Sorry, I know this if off topic, but I have never been suspended from school. My sister skipped school one time and my mom just happened to be driving by when my sister was bopping down the road in plain view. My mom pulled over, took her to school, walked her into the Dean's Office and demanded he give her a month of Saturday School and a week of Detention. Our Dean didn't argue with my mom. I'll never forget that day seeing my sister cry in the hallway! :floorlaugh:

Our Dean is now the Principle where my 17-year-old niece goes to school. I love that man!

This is what I think may have happened. I believe that it started with Trayvon being late to school. He was given detention and didn't serve his detention and therefore was suspended. Maybe he went back on school grounds after being suspended (see a friend?) and the suspension was upgraded to 10 days. Trayvon's mother, frustrated with Trayvon for getting suspended, sends him to dad for a few days to maybe dad would give him a good talking to? Or a good whoopin' (which is what I would have gotten had I been suspended from school.).

ETA: Using Casey Anthony talk... so in a backwards sort of way... he was suspended for being late to school because that is where everything originated?

I just saw this because it's taking me days to get from one post to the next and I travel backwards. I agree, obviously :)

I'm still confused about whether he had a holster or not? If the gun was always in his waistband, I have no idea how it didn't fall out during an altercation?

I'm not totally convinced that Zimmerman didn't have the gun in his hand when he caught up with Trayvon?
An IWB holster is actually one of the more secure holsters, because you can use your belt to tighten it up against your body. I would be very confident that a properly used IWB holster would not "release" the weapon unless intended.

I disagree, although I haven't tried to sleuth one way or the other, it would be futile. I think the suspension will matter if there's a trial since GZ's case rests on the fact that he stated TM "attacked" him. If he had been suspended for violence, it would likely be a factor. IMO.

All I want is a proper investigation which I believe is happening now. I do not believe that Trayvon's family was wrong in requesting an independent investigation. We know this is not the first misconduct by the police department? A Police Chief had just left office 10 months prior because a prior mishandled case.

I want Justice for Trayvon and that starts with a proper investigation.

ETA: 29,000 more signatures and Trayvon's petition will be at 2 million! Also want to say that I thought tonight's discussion was very informative and respectful. With that, I am off to watch my Amazing Race and Apprentice.

Blame it on Rosova, I looked. The only mention I find of "10 days" (or more).

http://archive.flsenate.gov/statutes...atuteYear=2011
Suspension proceedings, pursuant to rules of the State Board of Education, may be initiated against any enrolled student who is formally charged with a felony, or with a delinquent act which would be a felony if committed by an adult, by a proper prosecuting attorney for an incident which allegedly occurred on property other than public school property, if that incident is shown, in an administrative hearing with notice provided to the parents of the student by the principal of the school pursuant to rules adopted by the State Board of Education and to rules developed pursuant to s. 1001.54, to have an adverse impact on the educational program, discipline, or welfare in the school in which the student is enrolled. Any student who is suspended as the result of such proceedings may be suspended from all classes of instruction on public school grounds during regular classroom hours for a period of time, which may exceed 10 days as determined by the district school superintendent. ,

Why does it make no sense?

The only one dead was Tray. Who was beating on a dead guy? GZ?
On top of Tray? Or was GZ unconscious?
English is not my first language but that sentence just does not make any sense to me unless I have a mental English language block.:waitasec: Or I am just a stupid foreigner :what:
Help please.

"When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point," John said.

Unless this is the version in more correct English.

"When I got upstairs and looked down, the guy who was on top PREVIOUSLY beating up the other guy, was the one laying in the grass, and I believe he was dead at that point," John said.

Anyway, dear John does not sound like a very credible witness since he likes to remain anonymous.

He was saying that the guy who was on top beating was then laying on the grass presumably dead. The sentence isn't really that oddly constructed to me, but I can see it being confusing for a non-native speaker.

Anyway, dear John does not sound like a very credible witness since he likes to remain anonymous.
I personally would not blame him. With the militant activists that are involved, I would be wary of supporting Zimmerman in any public capacity.
