FL - 8-year-old raped, severely beaten, run over by bicycle in Jacksonville, Aug 2015

I just love this comment. The neighbor (Lawrence Laganelli) is a compassionate and insightful man imo.

"A future that will now involve therapists and doctors who Lawrence Laganelli said will have to offer more than just a service.

“Care. Hopefully she's with healthcare people that have high emotional intelligence instead of high IQs. Because what's needed right now is high EQ,” Lawrence Laganelli said."

I'm praying for this poor sweet little girl. This is so heartbreaking.

I am so sad for this poor girl, who will have to recount things she's probably blocked from her mind, so they can find this man who hurt her. No doubt she's had to succumb to medical probes so they can gather DNA evidence, etc. it is so sad. No matter how old he is, may God have mercy on his soul... because no one else will.

"Medical probes" would be the least of it. She had to undergo surgery and more may be needed "... she remains in intensive care "awaiting further examinations of her damaged eye, ear, throat and chest which was brutality inflicted during the rape.”

Even though the 🤬🤬🤬 rode a bike, it might not be a young person. Lots of ex-cons ride bikes if they have no valid drivers licenses or cars. And in Los Angeles, I recently saw an article about the number of perps/robbers/rapists who ride bikes around in middle of the night because they can evade the cops more easily and are less visible to LE.

Marking my spot. praying. And hoping to see a case with a quick resolution.

Wishing there was more helicopter parenting of 8-year-old girls in the world!!! Not another one!:tantrum::tears:

This child's mom is a disabled veteran and the single mom of two young girls. I think she is doing the best job she can and I actually donated to her 🤬🤬🤬, which I rarely ever do anymore. :candle:

With the bicycle reference, are we looking at another teenager doing the raping and attacking, like in the Jenise case and the Madyson case?

The quotes from the girl about being alive rip my heart out. Yes, you're alive!! You will make it.

Could be. This is so incredibly horrifying.

JSO Chief of Investigations Tom Hackney: Case is being worked as a "stranger sexual battery" http://t.co/sg6AmfpiGm

Hackney: 8 year old rape victim says "black male with short hair is the one who attacked her." Do not have other information

Hackney: There is physical evidence, we have spoken to every sexual predator in the area that we know of.

Hackney: Patrol officers have been in the University Blvd across from JU area around the clock.

Hackney: Parents should have "stranger-danger" conversations with their kids. Let them know what to look out for.

Hackney: Child was unable to provide an age range of the suspect.

Hackney: As more information becomes available, JSO will come back out.

Hackney: Crimestoppers is still available. 1-866-845-TIPS

Hackney: If you know anyone who has that suspect description and seems exceedingly interested in the case should call police.

Hackney: Child was unable to provide an age range of the suspect.

FCN says in their tweets the full press conference will be available on their website soon.

My heart just breaks for this little girl & what she will have to endure in the coming months.

"With visible police presence in the area dropping, Men Against Destruction Defending Against Drugs and Social Disorder, known as MAD DADS, will try to ignite the community to help in the search with a rally Monday evening.

"This was a vicious attack against a child, and we need your help to get this animal off the streets of Jacksonville before it happens again," MAD DADS President Donald Foy said.

Foy and his crime-fighting group have repeatedly called on the community to "break the code of silence" and do more to help police solve crime."

I agree its someone who rode a bicycle. That creep runned her over.

Didn't she also have a bike? Perhaps the perp used her bike to ride over her. [emoji34]

Ugh. Could be. I hadn't thought of that. I hope it was HIS bike as it would be some sort of clue in tracking the perp down.

Continued prayers for this little girl and strength sent for her recovery.

Excellent point. This is why I love the minds on ws's.

Also, bless that poor baby as she remembers such a horrifically traumatic event.

As I think about this case, I REALLY hope that there will be enough evidence to find and convict the perp without the victim having to remember everything. I want DNA, fingerprints, blood on him, witnesses placing him in the area, etc. to nail the guy good and strong without the little girl having to say anything if she can't.

JMO.

I just recalled a similar case in Florida in April (4-year-old-girl playing with friends, man trying to abduct her the moment she was alone) and looked it up to see if it was anywhere near this attack.

It was in the same road. (Justina)

I wonder if the man was ever caught? The description of him was very limited. Not even his color.
