To offer and publicize a reward, does the person offering have to actually establish a reward account?

Or can someone just say they are offering a reward?

Reward offered is for information on Abraham's whereabouts.

Authorities said:
snipped''\
We are hoping that the offer of a reward for information leading to his whereabouts will challenge someone who may have seen him or know where he is to come forward."

I didn't read the article, but is this the same reward that Ms Moore has established or is it established by L.E.?

ETA: The article says the reward is 5G's, so it must not be the same reward DM referred to in the post here. I thought this snippet was interesting:

"Until we can verify his whereabouts, we consider him missing and potentially a victim of a crime," she said.

The five thousand dollar fund in the article is set up by the authorities, not Moore.

Thanks nadjatheresa.

I can understand authorities setting up a reward, I wonder if the 10G's DM spoke of as a reward has been contributed toward this existing reward?

It would be great if someone would come forward and give credible information of where Abraham is. I'd love to hear of him being safe, somewhere.

I'm not the one not looking for Abraham. You’re the one that's twisting my past and making it look bigger than it is. It's so amazing that in 37 years that's all that has happened to me and now your treating me like I'm a psycho that kills for money. You have got to be kidding me.

You people are just sick in the head and I don't have time to listen to this anymore. You’re good at finding things so maybe when more comes out in the news you will actual be of some good use. Until then have fun wasting your time. I'm not even going to defend myself with such insults anymore.

The 10,000.00 I have already put it aside. I let the people know that can actual find him. Since the newspaper did not post it. You can receive it but you’re never going to find him when all you have is me to look at. Some of you are really good. If you are interested in looking up some people that interest me you can email me at [email protected]. I will email you conformation that the 10,000 is set aside. Your information leads to his where about it's yours. I want to shove him in one particular detectives face so bad right now. I'm willing to even put up more if you want to help. I really want my life back.

Sorry, DMoore, I was confused about the reward mentioned by you and then the 2nd mention of a reward in the above post. I didn't know if they were one in the same.

Can you 'donate' toward the reward that LE is offering? (I'm not asking if you want to, just is it something a private citizen can contribute to.)

The first articles (linked on the first few pages here) didn't seem too favorable toward you, in my opinion. I've been reading now, and thinking about your replies. I really do hope that Abraham contacts someone and is okay somewhere. I can't imagine being involved in this situation and wouldn't wish it on anyone.

DM, just got back from work and so glad you came back to answer a few of my questions. I'm hoping you'll go back and reread the post because there were a lot more questions you missed. You have nothing to hide and you're not a turtle who's going to hide in your shell, so it should not be that difficult for you to answer them. I also saw some of the other members have asked you some questions and are waiting for your answers. They asked some pretty good questions and now I'd like to hear those answers too.
As far as the reward, I can only quote one of my favorite movies, "SHOW ME THE MONEY!" Now is that your money you are offering for the reward or Abraham's money?
I like the idea that you give Abraham's mother his house. One of the other posters suggested it. But I'll bet there is one thing she wants more than that for sure. Help her get her son home safe and sound for Christmas. You say you have all this money, up the ante. If $10,000 doesn't work, why not $100,000? Give it to Polk County's Heartland Crimestoppers so they can legitimately offer that reward you are offering. You want to do something useful with the money to help others. I think helping bring Abraham back safely would be a much better use of the money than a paintball park.
And all those names that you say the mods won't let you post here, well I can understand their hesitancy about letting you point the finger at other people. I was on when you first posted them, so I still have them. I'm sure the police would love to hear about them. Why don't you tell them these names?
So D, hope you can go back and answer the questions you have missed.

I think what DM is saying is that she offered the reward to certain people, not the general public. There are some people that she thinks know where Abe is, or have an idea.

Susan1, the Crimestoppers idea is a good one (and it answered my question about a private citizen 'donating' to a reward fund.)

Thanks CarrieBean, I didn't understand the reward that DM mentioned. It makes sense the way you explained it.

  • #331
It's even tax deductible. It's a charity. Just google Heartland Crimestoppers. It will come right up for you, D.

If someone gave us more information, we'd be all over it. I have spent hours searching throughout Fl, GA, and the Carolinas looking for a possible clue about Abraham.

Any reward money is an incentive for the general public to come forward. Our purpose is to be advocates for the missing and crime victims. Everyone just wants to ensure Abraham is safe and give his family peace.

I don't really understand the logic of keeping the reward private and offering it only to people who might "really" be able to find Shakespeare.

Why not make it public and generate more interest in the case? The reward will only be given if Shakespeare is located, so there is no risk.

Isn't it worth it on the chance someone could come forward with information?

Hey, I found another website that I will not post the address..but...there was some really really interesting stuff on there about Mr. Eddie Dixon, Abrahams friend.

I am going to do some looking into this info to see if it is true.

Search Eddie D. name. Would be interesting to know if this is him. Some serious charges, including a couple counts of murder which he was found not guilty and armed robbery and agrevated battery. If this is him and he owes Abraham a large amount of money..well then this should be looked into.

Oh and the cousin, Cedrick Edom, that reported Abraham missing. There is a fugitive from Lakeland (VOP for cocaine sale/manuf) on the states abscounder website. Not a common name. It does not appear that Abraham was keeping good company to begin with.

I hope I don't get "slammed" but why all of the animosity towards DM? As far as I'm concerned, innocent until proven guilty and some posters here are pretty much convinced she is very guilty. I can see how this is plausible, definately, but in her own defence-she IS posting here and seems genuinely outraged about all of the accusations!

This is confusing but I am assuming a theory is that DM took him for his money and... what, killed him? By herself? She has a criminal record that includes fraud but are we talking murder? She has written that Mr.Shakespeare has a shady past and that includes numerous associates who we don't even know about.

In a real investigation they look at all sides of the story and take their time. The investigators are real good on this case. They are doing their job and the truth will come out. I'm not really worried about it except for the fact you can judge someone without knowing the whole story.

... So, Thank GOD for the Sheriff's Department and I will pray for all of you.

AND YET TODAY

I want to shove him in one particular detectives face so bad right now. I'm willing to even put up more if you want to help. I really want my life back.

Is that Detective doing too good a job?

I wonder if Abraham wants his life back, too.

This guy is sure a piece of work. Deedee, do you know if this is Abe's friend?

I have to agree. I'm not quite understanding why all of the fingers are pointing in one direction. I have never seen a member close to a case allowed to be treated this way here.
