Lakeland, Florida - 40-year-old Greg Smith worked with the Polk County Sheriff's Office for months as a confidential informant to carefully gain the trust of 37-year-old Dee Dee Moore. Ultimately, Smith was able to help detectives crack the case and, now, Moore is locked up, charged in connection with the murder of Abraham Shakespeare, a Lakeland lottery winner.

Smith admits he has been in trouble with the law in the past, but this time he agreed to work closely with detectives, spending three months hanging out with Moore until she opened to him and, according to court documents, led him straight to Shakespeare's body.

Smith says, "The first time that I ever saw Dee Dee Moore, it was through Abraham right here at this shop. He brought Dee Dee Moore around and said, 'Greg, this is the lady that's going to be helping me with a few of the things that I'm dealing with as far as my financial situation.'"

He says it was a brief encounter because he was busy working at a Lakeland barber shop and he didn't think much of it. He says Shakespeare would stop by about two or three times a week. Even after he won the 30 million dollar jackpot in 2006, he'd still pick up a broom and help clean up. Smith says, "He'd just get to sweeping and he'd sweep and joke around."...........

I just wanted to express my sadness at the horrible tragedy Abraham's family & friends are dealing with. It's bad enough to lose someone young like he was to a car accident, or natural causes or whatever. I know his funeral was Saturday, but I also know that the sadness of those whose lives Abraham touched, either through a personal relationship, or those of us who only knew him after his life ended in such a tragedy,are still feeling.

It's such a sad, deceitful, evil world we live in. Sometimes it's just so hard to see the silver lining in a situation such as this. I'm praying that the justice that WILL come to the situation, and it WILL come!!! will be that silver lining to bring them some sort of comfort.

I don't mean to sound all doom and gloom, because I am usually the most optimistic one I know, but today, I'm just sorta sad. And reading here, just reminds me how, through the best of intentions, a person can get mixed up with people who don't really care at all. (Wolves in sheeps' clothing, if you will) I only wish that Abraham would have gotten away from the creepy people that infested his life. I wish he could have lived in peace, happy, and with all that money, he'd have had no worries. It's a shame that vultures swarm everywhere, waiting, looking, stalking their next victim.

Thankfully, no one else will be subject to the victimizing ways of DeeDee Moore.

Rest In Peace, dear Abraham, you have touched my life, that's for sure.
And to any of his family or friends that might read this forum, I hope that you will find closure somehow and that God will bring you comfort.

According to the warrant, executed by Polk County, investigators spent hours inside the house in Lakeland looking for dozens of items relevant to proving "Murder or Accessory After the Fact to Murder."

Detectives went in looking for every legal or financial document imaginable, from W-2 forms to bank statements, money transactions, and all correspondance pertaining to at least eight people or business entities including suspect Dorice "DeeDee" Moore, and the victim Abraham Shakespeare.

Paperwork wasn't the only evidence they were looking for, according to the warrant. Investigators were also expecting to find firearms and ammunition, records pertaining to the purchase of the weapons, and anything that had to do with training or target practice with the firearms.

Officials were also hoping to find evidence on any and all computers, video recorders, cameras, and modems.

According to the warrant, forensic examination of the computers could take weeks.

A Tampa TV station reported it got a copy of the report on which Smith's name had inadvertently been left visible.

Smith said he thought his identity would be concealed until the case went to trial and was shocked when reporters showed up at the barber shop where he works.

Investigators have declined to comment about Smith but said court records speak for themselves about the importance of an informant in the case.

Smith said he first met Moore early last year when Shakespeare brought her by the shop to meet him. Shakespeare said Moore would collect on debts people owed him.

His involvement with detectives began, Smith said, when Moore told him Dec. 27 to make a cell phone call to Shakespeare's mother, Elizabeth Walker, and pretend to be Shakespeare.

Then Smith said he had to be cunning to gain Moore's confidence and get her to tell him what happened to Shakespeare. "DeeDee Moore was a smart individual, but she was dumb," Smith said. "Her mind was too big for who she was, and she made some bad choices. It was all about greed."

Between Dec. 28 and Jan. 21, Moore asked Smith if he knew of anyone that was awaiting sentencing to prison who would be willing say they killed Abraham Shakespeare in exchange for $50,000, according to an arrest affidavit. Moore told Smith he and another person would have to dig up the body and move it to another location.

On Jan. 25, Moore met with Smith and gave him a .38-caliber revolver and told him the gun was used to kill Shakespeare, the affidavit said. Later that day, she showed Smith exactly where Shakespeare was buried.

Moore said a day before her arrest that she "didn't pull the trigger" but was "guilty of covering up his death."

I know I've been picking apart DM's posts, but I am curious if someone can explain something to me about this particular post/edited post?

From what I can tell, the first post was made at 7:03 PM and made no mention of GM or FJ. The edited post was done at 8:03 and last revised at 8:15? In the second or revised post she decided to mention GM and FJ? Am I reading this correctly?

I wonder why she was distancing GM from any part AS's disappearance? She seemed to have no problem pointing fingers at everyone else throughout the whole time people were discovering 'stuff'.

She also said that SK didn't know AS was buried in the backyard.

Wonder how she decides who she points fingers at?

i know where shar will be saturday......Robert York Geiger (1961-2010)Robert York Geiger, 49, of Panama City, departed this life peacefully, at his residence on Jan. 28, 2010 after a long battle with cancer.

The courage and strength he showed during this time earned him the name "super trouper" by all his friends. This gentle, kind, compassionate, soul was not a man of many words, but he never missed a beat.

He was born Jan. 13, 1961, in Rome, N.Y. to Anton and Patricia Geiger. He spent his early years in Puerto Rico and Central Florida before his family settled in DeFuniak Springs, Fla. While he attended Walton High School, he assisted his family raising Paso Fino horses on their farm in DeFuniak Springs. Robert was a champion horse rider and trainer who won many blue ribbons and awards. His style and grace while riding a horse were second to none.
Robert later moved to South Florida and attended the Electrical Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, becoming a licensed journeyman electrician. He worked as an electrician for many years in South Florida and upon returning to the Panhandle in 1996, he worked as an electrician for the city of Panama City. Robert lent a hand to many of his friends and family with his expert electrical knowledge and talent.

In 2000, Robert decided to return to college to pursue a career in nursing. He attended Gulf Coast Community College and upon his graduation as a registered nurse, he worked at Gulf Coast Medical Center until his illness forced him to retire. He touched each and every one of his patients with his amazing care and compassion.

Robert was an avid boater and able to navigate a boat trailer better than anyone. He loved to fish, snorkel, dive and be anywhere where there was water and sunshine. His other love was playing blackjack and he enjoyed taking trips to Las Vegas and Biloxi.

Robert was preceded in death by his dear mother, Marion Patricia Wheelihan; his grandparents, Robert York and Marion Wheelihan, Andrew and Beatrice Geiger; and his father-in-Law, Russell Danwood Spencer.

Leaving behind to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Debbi Spencer Geiger, along with five "white" dogs, Pebbles, Bam Bam, Lucy, Desi and Buzzy; his father, Lt. Colonel Anton John Geiger (USAF ret.); his brother John Geiger; his loving mother-in-Law, Darlene F. Spencer; sisters-in-law, Pam Perrin, Patricia Spencer, Dina Youngblood and husband, Tim; and brother-in-law, Daryl Spencer; nine nieces and nephews whom he adored, Rachel Rogers, Shar Krasniqi, Ja Krasniqi, Andrew Perrin and wife, Alicia, Christopher Perrin and wife, Katie, Michelle Perrin, Danielle Krasniqi, Mason Youngblood, Hannah Youngblood; his godson, Jacob Danwood Rogers; and great nephew, William Andrew Perrin. Man who led officials to lotto winner's body speaks out

POLK COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- The man who led investigators to the body of Abraham Shakespeare is speaking out.

Greg Smith started working with detectives as an informant in December.

"I didn't bury him, I didn't dig a hole, I didn't kill him," Smith said. "All I did, was assist the the police department to find him."

He said his involvement in the case started a day after DeeDee Moore, a women arrested in connection to the murder, had him call Shakespeare's mother, pretending to be her missing son.

"If you want me to go and say I'm him, where is he for real? And that's where the light clicked on and I got involved," he said.

From that point on, Smith lead a double life.
