Collier County deputies did another search for Adji Desir on Saturday. They were in Immokalee looking in area they had not searched before. No details on new developments have been released.

Adji disappeared from his Immokalee home in the beginning of January. The 6 year old has not been seen since.

If you have any information on his whereabouts call CrimeStoppers: 1- 800-780-TIPS.

SO sad that the search Saturday only resulted in this small blurb:(

Where is this little boy?!

Naples has their own branch of the NAACP:

Naples - Collier County Branch
Phone: (239)455-2886
Fax: (239)417-2968
Address: P.O. BOX 920727, Naples, FL 34116
Web Site: www.naacpcolliercounty.com

I haven't contacted them; I just found this. I have to think of how to phrase it. I guess it is always correct to just speak from the heart.

I wish James Brown was still living. He was my couple of streets over neighbor for 20 years until they moved out to Beech Island. He had his issues for sure, but he never turned down a request for help.

Thanks for heading me in the right direction Gracenote! Your words prompted me to just speak what was on my heart. I sent out a couple emails to the localized NAACP and one to Rev. Sharpton's organization. Wow, you're right about it being busy there. As soon as I sent that email I got an auto-reply. I'm thinking it won't hurt to actually send a written note off in snail mail too... maybe even call.

I will send thank you emails to the papers that ran the story about the seach on Saturday. If they know we are reading, watching and appreciating their efforts, hopefully they will continue to respond.

Thanks for all the pats on the back guys - I must have sounded like I was whining huh :) I didn't mean to, I was just wondering if anyone else had gotten a positive response from any of the media.

I will also send emails to Sharpton and the NAACP. Maybe they will help.

That's a good idea Salem! You're very right.. good to let them know we're appreciative.

Nah, we all know know the feelings associated with these things. We knew you weren't whining, honey. Like you I only got one or two auto-replies - which, honestly, I didn't even think to expect.

I really have some hope that something will come from the contacting of the NAACP and Sharpton's organization. How could they not do something in response?!

It's late... and I am so sad that little Adji is not home in his bed. My heart just aches over this little boy.

Adji Desir and Sandra Cantu

March 31, 2009 by MCA

Reminiscent of the disappearance of Adji Desir earlier this year, Sandra Cantu is missing from her Tracy, Ca. home. An Immokalee, Fl. 6-year-old, Adji vanished from his grandmother’s Farm Worker Village home on Jan. 10. He was last seen walking away after playing with other children. An AMBER Alert wasn’t issued because Florida authorities believed there were no signs of an abduction. He remains missing.

In the disappearance of Sandra, she was last seen after playing with a friend. An AMBER Alert wasn’t issued as it is not beleived by authorities that an abduction has taken place.

I also posted this on Sandra's thread.

Thanks to everyone,
We need to be organized and get some politicians, churches and everyone out there.
We can get more bees with honey than vinegar! Praise them and ask for help.
It is an injustice that ANY child is missing! EVERY child should be safe! This is just awful!

The terrain is very flat and goes from cleared land to Everglades swamp pretty quickly. I live about 30 miles away and have never actually been to Imokolee but I do know quite a bit about it. As you may know, Adji lived in Farmworkers Village, which is where people who work the fields can live low cost. Most people who live there do not speak English. Its probably only rained once or twice since Adji went missing if that is important.

I emailed the Collier County Sheriff's office last night thanking them for all they do, and asking if they had any specific requests of us. I told them we are great at sending emails and at prayers. I didn't mention WS because I don't know if that is allowed; I just said we are an internet resource group for families/friends of missing persons.

It looks like you all were able to come up with an amazing list of media contacts. I'm sure you covered them all. But just in case, www.findadji.com has a section for media links. Just scroll down to the "Adji Desir Missing" section, and there's one that says "Please help by contacting media outlets". Even if they don't have any that you all haven't found, maybe you can add to their list. :)

This article is from early March, but I don't recall seeing it here. I apologize if it was already posted.

National exposure of missing boy brings in several new leads

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office received seven new leads into the disappearance of 6-year-old Adji Desir after his case was featured last Saturday on the "America’s Most Wanted" television program.

"You never ever know when you go on any show whether you're going to get a lot or a little," agency spokeswoman Karie Partington said. "Its a matter of getting the right one."

The Sheriff’s Office also released a new photo of Adji on Wednesday, in which he is wearing the two-tone, blue sneakers he wore the day he disappeared. Investigators hope the sneakers will generate fresh leads.

Good morning/afternoon Lizzybeth,

Ever since I read the story on this site of the little boy (I think Christopher Barrios was the name?) I have had a sick feeling. I guess I knew such things could happen but to have it right in my face was too much. If that has happened to Adji...

Don't read the case if you are sensitive like me. He was abducted, raped, killed by a whole family of pedophiles.

I just pray that Adji is found and if he fell in a well or wandered into danger of some kind and died (hopefully quickly) it would be better than what could have happened to him in this evil world. And if I feel so bad, how much worse must his family feel.

I'm sorry to be so negative today. I need a hug :) and I wish there would be some word about this child. God knows where Adji is, and I pray He will show someone where to look for him.

(((((Gracenote))))) You do such an awesome job for Adji. His family would be so grateful and we are all so proud of you. I know sometimes it gets discouraging, especially when you read the stories of other children that have come to such evil harm. But there really are many more good people, with good hearts, such as yourself in this world then there are evil POSs. Evil may win a few battles, but it will never win the war.

Prayers for Adji, may he come home soon.

Salem
