Quoted from http://www.news-press.com/story/new...9-year-old-lee-county-girl-underway/85127440/

"Shortly after 11:25 p.m. two tow trucks rolled up and through the crime scene tape, proceeding to the home of the missing girl. The trucks loaded and carried off a black sedan and a tan pickup.

Shortly thereafter a deputy removed crime scene tape, said the case was ongoing and left the scene. A cruiser remained at the girl's home, which remained cordoned off by crime tape."

If I am reading this correctly, then the crime scene tape was removed from the wider area we have talked about (when the tape was placed around 12-15 mobile homes) and was left only around the child's home.

As was wisely noted by another WSer, the crime scene tape makes sense because the home would be considered a crime scene...BUT there are several items here that make me go hmmmm...

1) The crime scene is still up.
2) Family still not allowed in.
3) Some family members being kept from other family members.
4) Two family vehicles towed away by LE.
5) No active searches nor are volunteers being permitted to search (in other words, no sense of urgency to look for this little girl).

JMO the home is being looked at for a long time because evidence has been found there, evidence which leads police to believe that they do not need to do an active search for this little girl.

we should also remember that was the family status at the time the interviews were given and articles written quit a few hours ago. The family may have been allowed back in, or someone with LE may have gathered needed personal items, or the family may have been directed to accommodations if LE has not released their home.

I can't imagine the family being kept just loitering outside in the heat for all these hours.

I would hope that some sort of accomodations are being arranged if it looks as if they will be unable to return to the trailer tonight.

She was apparently taking somebody home in her neighborhood around 2 a.m. Sunday morning and did not return.

When she went missing Diana was wearing a short-sleeve shirt and shorts. She may have a green blanket with her.

What?!?!?!?! Is this right? Is this wrong? This is VERY far off from the discrepancy who went to the bathroom at 2am, mom or sister.

LE was still actively searching after the vehicles were towed. Today they focused on a heavy brush wooded area behind her home.

What??? A 9 year old is taking someone home at 2 in the morning?

Absolutely, indeed!

I'm expecting to hear that the parents have been cleared, we will see...jmo.

In Florida rarely do I ever see LE come out publicly and rule anyone out by name. What they usually do from the many cases I have seen is say publicly they have ruled no one out or they don't have a POI and then when they make an arrest of course by default everyone else is ruled out then but the arrested suspect/s. In Jessica Lunsford's case in Florida and also in 12 year old Carlie Bruchia's kidnapping/rape, and murder they didn't rule anyone out those times either.

Most all LE does the same across the country. I can count maybe three or four cases... if that.... where LE came out in the media and ruled a parent/s out specifically by name. Off the top of my head I can remember them ruling Jessica Ridgeway's mom, and dad out a few days after she went missing, but its a rarity rather than the norm.

So I don't expect they will do it in this case...well not publicly anyway. Behind the scene is another matter, and people will be ruled out that is on the potential suspect list.

I have a feeling this is someone living in that very same trailer park. Someone who may have pretended to befriend this family and gain their trust and Diana's trust also. Since LE has concentrated on the trailer park from the very beginning I think they too think its someone in that area.

I hope they search underneath all of the mobile homes closely. Even if they have skirting all around the homes whoever did this could have hidden her underneath one of the homes and then put the skirting panels back up. There are also large circular heating/air connections underneath the mobile homes where it could be taken apart and a small child's body stuffed up inside of them. Although the kidnapper could be like Melissa Huckaby and may have taken her from the mobile home park to another area. I haven't seen any mention of cameras at this MHP like they had where Sandra lived when she was taken.

Do you know if there is water close to the trailer park where Diana went missing? A lot of these abducted children seem to be found in ponds/creeks/lakes etc.:( I am praying for a miracle hoping Diana will be found safe and returned to her family like Carlie Trent. However; those endings don't happen very often for an abducted child, and as each day passes it doesn't bode well for little Diana. I even thought about a sex trafficker since that is happening in our country way more than we want to believe.

IMO

Wait. How does a 9-year-old take somebody home?

Was she having a friend sleep over who decided she needed to go home? We had that happen with our kids a couple of times, but either we or the other child's parent took care of getting them home. (Purely my speculation)

Though it does make sense of why the whole neighborhood was intially cordoned off.

Though it does make sense of why the whole neighborhood was intially cordoned off.

So does that mean she had a failed sleepover, and the girl wanted to go home for whatever reasons (fear, feeling sick, etc.) so Diana walked her home but didn't return?

That was purely my speculation.

abc action news is the only news org stating she was walking someone home at 2am. they have offered no other coverage on this case and I personally feel their report is inaccurate.

Time will tell, but I will not be giving that report weight because none of it is sourced and that sure isn't in the Lee County Sheriff updates and releases.

Oh my gosh. Who in the world would let their young child walk someone home that time of the morning????? Mindboggling. Did this family have an unreasonable false sense of security of where they lived??

I think I may wait to see if the AP or some other outlet picks this up that just doesn't copy from other news sites.

I am stunned if this is true.

What the heck??? Who lets 9 yr olds walk by themselves at 2 am?

And no one noticed she never returned until 7 am the next morning?

No wonder LE is acting a bit odd at this point. they are probably a bit rattled by the circumstances too.

That sure sounds like they think she left the house on her own for some reason.

This gets scarier and weirder by the minute.

Where is this new information coming from? If someone from the family is telling it, then we have our third possible story:
1) Was in bed, last seen by her sister at 2am
2) Was in bed, last seen by her mom at 2am
3) Last seen leaving the house at 2am to take somebody home.

Let's go with the last version. I wonder if any adult in that home happened to be with her when she was out at 2am. I supposed that LE is trying to verify who was being taken home.

Very confusing.
