Too depressed to comment on this thread. :-(

I understand mrsobrien. I post on the Gabriel Fernandez thread. He's fairly local to me and I feel rather protective of him. I want his parental units to be brought to justice and it just keeps dragging on. Almost no one posts there. The story is just to horrific. There are a few who post though, which I'm grateful for. Sometimes we just need to step away or it gets to be too much.

I'm very worried for Diane, it's been almost two days now, and there's very limited info with conflicting stories. But, I have 100% faith in the Lee County detectives and Sheriff Mike Scott. They will solve this and bring justice.

I grew up in trailers, and we had both kinds of stoves. Where we had the gas stove, we also had a large propane tank near our trailer. And yes, my mom would turn the stove and/or oven ( with the door open) on at times for heat because there was no central heat source, or kerosine for the space heater.

There would be NO reason for a stove to be on for "heat" here. It's way too hot.

:thinking:Step Dad interview, linked in this thread, took polygraph test. Said he has nothing to hide, and for LE to do what they need to do. Says he did nothing to Diana, contrary to what police said he did , he didn't.

I believe him. I think there's a language barrier, and the family isn't understanding the police protocol. However, I have a feeling this was a targeted kidnapping. In Mom's interview, she says their cell phone number is on the missing fliers they are handing out, and for people to call it! Says whatever kidnapper wants, to call them. Step Dad also said to call a cell phone and gave the number in the interview. Maybe they are afraid someone won't call LE, but would be more willing to call them. IDK

:praying: This doesn't end like so many cases lately. Come home safely Diana!!

I haven't seen it mentioned if she was enrolled in school? Maybe because it is a Holiday weekend, but usually you'd get some kind of news that the school would have counselors on hand for fellow students. Not that this is THAT important, but does Diana speak English? Actually if COULD be important if someone does see her and tries to communicate with her.

Hernandez said the only thing out of character was an incident two months ago, when Diana brought home a paper inviting her to a classmates's home. With no phone number or addresses, Hernandez told her she couldn't go. Diana tore the paper to pieces.

Okay so I'm finally all caught up on this thread. I honestly feel that based on the info(parents being kept at station, cars being towed, crime scene tape at the house & them not being allowed in, areas of search etc) that is out so far in the MSM that it seems that LE are looking into the parents. However, I do have some questions about the note. Don't kids usually just verbally ask their friend if they can spend the night? Was the note handwritten or typed up and printed off? Why did Mom think it was out of character? Did she find it out of character because she wondered if it even came from a classmate?

Like in all honesty my first thought when I saw that about the note was "Omg could she have actually been abducted by someone and it was them that somehow convinced/sent her home with this note? But then that probably wouldn't make sense because why not take her then and why wait for 2 months. Maybe I'm over-analyzing about this note? LOL

See. I didn't even catch up myself before seeing that she had gotten a note from a classmate. So scratch the question I had about her being enrolled in school. I wonder if the "classmate" had written the note if there was a language barrier?

Somebody set her up with promises of a pony?

I am very worried about this girl - I don't think this will turn out well. They drove nice vehicles, I hope they aren't making a living doing anything illegal that would cause someone to take Diane

All that AND why did that seem significant to the mother while her child was missing? Did she think the daughter wrote it just trying to get away for the night? And then ripped it in a display of anger/ displeasure when she was told no? Or did it seem like a creepy outsider? It seems like an odd time for that memory to come up, so she clearly has some feeling about it that stayed fresh.

I thought the same thing but didnt want to say anything. Especially since he said he is the only one who works for the family in the video interview. When I saw the cars, I instantly thought of Ceasar (father) and Adriana (13 years old) Coronado who were killed by drug people. Of course, the police once thought I was dealing drugs because I had a nice car that was home all day. Fact is, I worked from home a lot and overnight/ weekends in the field (mental health) a lot. They were looking at the neighbors in the other half of the house I lived in, but suspected me, too, because of my car. So, I am well aware that it could mean nothing, but it did cross my mind.

I'm going to try and look at this a little differently. The Mother is obviously not from this Country. What is normal to us (an invitation to a Birthday Party being sent home from school with our children) may be foreign to her. Maybe so foreign that she felt it odd (culture barriers) and she is trying to cling to anything she can remember being out of character...something that would seem strange to her.

I would like to know how long the Stepfather has been in the picture? The Mother is expecting a baby very soon. What about the other children? I believe there are 3 total (including Diana).

One article said she was the protector of her 3 younger siblings, so I thought she was 1 of four, plus another on the way. Diana, boy, girl and the youngest---- not sure how old that one is if they still take a bottle in the middle of the night? Mine didnt take a bottle in the middle of the night after---- 9 months, maybe? I am not positive about any of that, though.

Okay so I'm very chatty tonight, it seems.

It's so frustrating and disheartening to me that there is virtually no activity on this case right now in SM. Twitter is pretty much silent and it's even too quiet in here.

Even just a few years back, when a child went missing these threads would be filled with people immediately. And I mean tons of people. Are we just getting so used to it that it doesn't even register as a shock anymore? :(

I do understand that it's a holiday but I have been noticing this for some time now.

I hope and pray they find this little one.

I think after following cases on here it takes it's toll on your psyche. I just dreamed last night about a child wanting to go into the woods and I explained to her that there are bad men in the woods and told her what they would do to her. There are times when we need to take a break for our own well being, not to lessen the importance of these cases.

During Caylee's case I would have nightmares. Literally, I would have nightmares. It was always her little hand submerged in the water with tadpoles swimming around. It was horrible. It took me a long time to get involved with cases here once Casey was found Not Guilty. I try not to get as emotionally involved as I did... but it's always hard. Especially when it's so close to home.

We all have our own reasons for getting attached to certain cases more than others... it isn't that we care any less about the other cases... it's just sometimes it does get too hard.

I have quite a bit of family/friends who live in San Carlos Park. My own niece attended this school. When I first posted about Diana missing, I noted that there are very good areas of San Carlos Park and some very shady areas too. A lot of RSO's.

I hope they have counselors on hand for the children when they go back to school in the morning.

Oh, God! Do you think that is what the searcher was referring to when he said "Doesn't this seem familiar?" or something like that? I didn't realize this was the same area. It is the same area (near) the Caylee Anthony case?

And I agree. I try my best not to click on the child cases because they are so painful, but I keep going back. But, I have a thing. If a child had to actually experience the trauma, the least I can do is stand and listen, as a loving supporter for them. When the details are too much to bear, I always think of what they had to go through and feel the need to not turn away, as some form of mental support and shield for them. Its hard to explain. I just never want a child to be left alone in their time of need. And while discovering really horrible stuff, I can imagine that is when they needed someone most. I couldn't be there at the time it was happening, but I can stand with them as it is discovered/ discussed. After a really ugly case, I have tons of anxiety or nightmares and need to emotionally back away and cleanse. My family says I am morbid for following cases. I call it informed and compassionate. It's always hard. I should have a happier hobby! ;)

Were they allowed to pack overnite bags or bring anything? Toiletries, change of clothes, diapers for the baby? Where are they staying? I'm sure they don't have money for hotel rooms or buying replacements for things they couldn't take with them.

I would imagine that they would not want anything moved around in the home at all until it is completely processed and that would include letting them go in to pack over night bag. I could also picture the family refusing to leave the area due to hoping she will come home or wanting to be right there in case someone brings her home or someone wants to tell the something . They could just want people, family, and neighbors to know exactly where they are so they can come and speak with them if they want to..

Now that the public is aware they cant return to their home I hope they reach out to help this family in need.

Even if they have family close by they may not be able to help them buy more clothes and things they will need until their home is released by LE which can take a few days or even longer. I have seen cases where the home wasn't released back to the family for many weeks.

They do seem to be a religious family since they missed Diana when she was to be awaken to attend church. Sometimes they may hate to ask for help for many of them are very proud people who want to work hard for what they have rather than asking someone for help.

The community probably didn't know their situation and now that they do I hope they offer to help them.

imo
I think a victim advocate would be a very good idea in this case. I think the culture and communication barriers are going to prove problematic for this family ,with LE and with the media . I am very concerned about these issues having a negative impact on this case. I also think a lawyer's advise and a spokesperson for this family would be a good idea. Not that I think they have anything to hide but the step father if innocent is in a very vulnerable position .

So if the door was unlocked then maybe someone from the area snuck in. Was there are kids sleeping in the same room? Mom saw her at 2 am. So it was between 2:10 and 6:50 am.

It takes a lot of nerve to break into small trailer home with 2 adults and 4 kids sleeping inside. I think it has to be someone who feels familiar with the trailer.

It does take a lot of nerve. They are the scariest of offenders who things like this.

I would guess Diana's mother would be reflecting over everything she could ,so an invite to a child's party/house that was written out with no contact information would be something that might of not seemed big at the time would now seems even more odd than it did when she came home with the note. There could be other odd things she mentioned to LE .

In Florida rarely do I ever see LE come out publicly and rule anyone out by name. What they usually do from the many cases I have seen is say publicly they have ruled no one out or they don't have a POI and then when they make an arrest of course by default everyone else is ruled out then but the arrested suspect/s. In Jessica Lunsford's case in Florida and also in 12 year old Carlie Bruchia's kidnapping/rape, and murder they didn't rule anyone out those times either.

Most all LE does the same across the country. I can count maybe three or four cases... if that.... where LE came out in the media and ruled a parent/s out specifically by name. Off the top of my head I can remember them ruling Jessica Ridgeway's mom, and dad out a few days after she went missing, but its a rarity rather than the norm.

So I don't expect they will do it in this case...well not publicly anyway. Behind the scene is another matter, and people will be ruled out that is on the potential suspect list.

I have a feeling this is someone living in that very same trailer park. Someone who may have pretended to befriend this family and gain their trust and Diana's trust also. Since LE has concentrated on the trailer park from the very beginning I think they too think its someone in that area.

I hope they search underneath all of the mobile homes closely. Even if they have skirting all around the homes whoever did this could have hidden her underneath one of the homes and then put the skirting panels back up. There are also large circular heating/air connections underneath the mobile homes where it could be taken apart and a small child's body stuffed up inside of them. Although the kidnapper could be like Melissa Huckaby and may have taken her from the mobile home park to another area. I haven't seen any mention of cameras at this MHP like they had where Sandra lived when she was taken.

Do you know if there is water close to the trailer park where Diana went missing? A lot of these abducted children seem to be found in ponds/creeks/lakes etc.:( I am praying for a miracle hoping Diana will be found safe and returned to her family like Carlie Trent. However; those endings don't happen very often for an abducted child, and as each day passes it doesn't bode well for little Diana. I even thought about a sex trafficker since that is happening in our country way more than we want to believe.

IMO

I love all your posts here (and have actually quoted you in other threads re: your comment about kids wrapped in blankets upon disposal and the possible maternal link); however on this, conversely, in Jessica Ridgeway's case, LE came out ASAP to say the parents were ruled out. ETA: nevermind, just saw you mentioned Jessica R. already. Duh, go to bed Mags.

I also worries me that they've brought in "Homeland Security?" I don't know what that's about? Would they be called in if they are here illegally?

Big brother...they're always around

Re: the out traveling or whatever phrasing, that was out there since day 1 and I attributed it to way stoned misreporting, so didn't even quote it.
