Just in case anyone is interested--- the comments that were referred to earlier on the video have gotten a whole lot more detailed. I am going to go to bed hoping she has too many people who care about her and want her to have a happy life. That would be the greatest case scenario here.

Oh, God! Do you think that is what the searcher was referring to when he said "Doesn't this seem familiar?" or something like that? I didn't realize this was the same area. It is the same area (near) the Caylee Anthony case?

And I agree. I try my best not to click on the child cases because they are so painful, but I keep going back. But, I have a thing. If a child had to actually experience the trauma, the least I can do is stand and listen, as a loving supporter for them. When the details are too much to bear, I always think of what they had to go through and feel the need to not turn away, as some form of mental support and shield for them. Its hard to explain. I just never want a child to be left alone in their time of need. And while discovering really horrible stuff, I can imagine that is when they needed someone most. I couldn't be there at the time it was happening, but I can stand with them as it is discovered/ discussed. After a really ugly case, I have tons of anxiety or nightmares and need to emotionally back away and cleanse. My family says I am morbid for following cases. I call it informed and compassionate. It's always hard. I should have a happier hobby! ;)

No. It is NOT the same area Caylee was (it does look quite similar though, but we are 4 hours away from Orlando). I believe they were referring to the two toddlers (sister and brother) who got outside (maybe 2 years ago) who were THANKFULLY found safe in the woods after a VERY long and scary search for them. The sleeping caretaker was charged (drugs) and the babies went looking for their mother who worked close by but they got lost.

Oh, thank you. Poor babies.

I don't see the link.

Forgive me, I am at work and I am trying to follow this at the same time.

LM gives some detailed family info, if you read the comments under her comments. I think I can say (without giving a link) that she names the little girl's bio father. It is correct because he has pictures of Diana on his Facebook. Anyway, gives some family dynamics that could be playing into this.

So the stepfather says the police questioned him in an accusatory way---and acted as if he was the guilty party.

That does not mean much---they are OBVIOUSLY going to go after any male that was in the trailer home that night. They have to interrogate him to see how he responds.

But it does tell us that they probably do not have any iron clad evidence that someone abducted her or that she walked away voluntarily. :candle:

I have an awful feeling that they really have no idea what happened.

I am HOPING that it is a language/cultural barrier between the Stepfather and Law Enforcement. He may feel under attack. While WE know this is common place in cases like these... he may not know and he may not understand.

I did see the cars being towed (not a good sign), but the F-150 is a VERY common work truck here. Just because you do not see the companies name on the truck does not mean that it is not a company truck. I see it all the time. I work at a hotel where we have to have a description of EVERY car that is in our parking lot. The majority of work trucks are NOT accompanied by a company name (mostly F-150's).

I do agree that they have no idea what happened. Which makes it so much worse for Diana.

Now that Diana is "Breaking News" locally... they are finally really reporting on her here now. I wish it had happened sooner. They are now getting into her school (and updating parents) and counselors are being sent in.

I just watched her Stepfather on an interview and I don't think he is involved based on his body language and what looks like concern for Diana. I have been fooled before, so take that with a grain of salt.

I do wonder if Diana had become friendly with any older teens in the area? Did she take a school bus? I know she took a bus to Church. Has anyone talked to the older children (teens) who would take the bus with her?

Was she upset about another sibling coming into the household?

She's been missing over 48hrs now...

I understand the whole discussion regarding a language barrier however this is Florida with a very large spanish speaking population. I don't think it's that difficult to find LE that speak spanish to make things easier. I'm not buying the language argument to find excuses for behaviours and things that are said. I don't think LE is concerned about a language barrier. I do think a fear of law enforcement and perhaps being legally or not in the country could be more at play than language concerns. Right now, it is what it is. The closest people to Diana are suspects until proven that they aren't. Hopefully, they move past the family as quickly as possible (if possible) and are able to move beyond. MOO

A few thoughts and questions (sorry if I missed the answers):

1. Did any LE say the stove was on? Was it just family reporting that?
2. So the church bus was supposed to come and pick up the kids--what time? Have they checked out or interviewed the driver or possible escort on the bus? Maybe they saw something?
3. Where did they get the translator if she isn't very good? That could make a HUGE difference in interviews.
4. I fear they found something in the trailer that makes LE thinks she was injured or killed. Why don't they want anyone to search? They are searching outdoors, nearby, but why? What leads them to that, something specific or just the routine when someone is missing?

All JMO. Praying for Diana.

I believe the translator is a cousin or such. I'm not sure where I heard that but it's possible it was on the video.

Okay so I'm finally all caught up on this thread. I honestly feel that based on the info(parents being kept at station, cars being towed, crime scene tape at the house & them not being allowed in, areas of search etc) that is out so far in the MSM that it seems that LE are looking into the parents. However, I do have some questions about the note. Don't kids usually just verbally ask their friend if they can spend the night? Was the note handwritten or typed up and printed off? Why did Mom think it was out of character? Did she find it out of character because she wondered if it even came from a classmate?

Like in all honesty my first thought when I saw that about the note was "Omg could she have actually been abducted by someone and it was them that somehow convinced/sent her home with this note? But then that probably wouldn't make sense because why not take her then and why wait for 2 months. Maybe I'm over-analyzing about this note? LOL

Can I just say when younger I would make "invitations" just so that I could go to someone's house. My parents weren't of a mindset of going to other people's houses. Except family. Just something to think about.

That is why I was very careful to say language/culture barrier. I would think that IF this family were here illegally (IF) and their main concern was NOT for Diana, then they would have never called LE at all. The school years end is only a week away... would anyone have really missed a child missing the last week of school? Elementary School? Not likely.

However, depending on where they do come from and where they were raised, they may have a deep distrust of LE. Which is why I made it a point to include culture barrier into the discussion. They might not understand WHY they are being questioned or even "accused" (which happens a lot during INTENSE interrogations). WE know it is important, but someone who is not from here... who is only worried about their child... may NOT.
