LE can't shut you or them down. They can ask you to not talk about things but you can ignore them. Free speech and all.

I can't see why LE would care about anything they've said so far.

Ok, I am sitting here shaking my head wondering WTH is going on here?

I've been around long enough to know that parents don't give out multiple interviews, take people through their homes etc. etc when something like this is going on. Typically, LE speaks for them and works with them to find the missing child. They are divulging information that could cause harm to the investigation and muddying the waters with story after story and new detail after detail multiple times per day. I understand that that there is perhaps a cultural divide here but come on.

So why haven't LE shut them down? Am I missing something or is the rope being let out just enough....................????

Because LE has no legal rights to shut them down. They are free to say and do anything they want. I have seen parents do many many interviews. They do this to keep the story in the news about their missing child which is understandable.

I have also seen reporters go through other homes before at a location where a child or adult went missing. It seems the stepfather and mother of Diana feels they have nothing to hide and have been very open.

I believe they are just like everyone else and are trying to come up with people who could have taken Diana. I don't think their stories have changed as if that signifies something sinister. I think they are just trying to think of everything or anyone who could have taken her so that is why they first said Diana's father may have taken her to now believing it may have been the renter who seemed to be close to Diana. I am sure their minds are going 90 miles an hour trying to figure out who may have abducted her.

Ok just throwing stuff against the wall to see if it sticks.

Ex roommate is somehow known by or connected to Diana's bio dad? Is that not a huge red flag since bio dad has threatened to get his children back? And so this family thinks it's a great idea to let him bunk there for a month? Not to mention having a virtual strange man living in very close quarters with not only young children but a young girl who then goes on to become "attached" to him?

I'm throwing the bs flag on that whole scenario. It's wrong from a hundred different angles. And say Diana did see ex roommate outside and snuck out to go with him, which I think would be a whole lot easier than him sneaking in the house and risking making noise and getting caught, then who turned on the stove? And how convenient that there was already a pan of oil on the stove.

If Diana snuck out to ex roommate or even to some other complete stranger she'd have no reason to turn on the stove.

After seeing the layout of the home I just do not believe someone came in that house.

The SF mentioning the blanket a hundred times really puts me off. I don't know why.

And how many stories are there now about the 2:00 am or 2:30 am or maybe it was 3:00 am sighting? Mother got up to use the bathroom. Mother got up to make a bottle for the baby. Sister got up to use the bathroom. Who is the sister? How old is the sister? I've only seen boy children so far.

I'll get off my soapbox. I guess I just am having a hard time believing a "came into the house" abduction theory.

All MOO. IMO Alphabet soup

Or someone wants you to think that she did. Missing blanket is a huge problem for me.

Anddddd, I will leave it at that.

Oh gosh, I keep going back and forth.

Oh, one thing, do we know if the family initially came over here illegally? The reason why I ask is because sometimes the people who help get people across the border, etc later come back with demands for money, sometimes kidnapping for ransom, etc. Just a thought, but something I've heard a bit about lately in documentaries, articles, etc.

Again, I think she was lured out or forcibly taken by a child predator. And likely someone close by who knew the layout of the house and had seen Diana around. Jmo

With her shoes being gone along with her blanket it makes me feel whoever took her lured her into leaving with him and that is why her shoes nor blanket are there. He may have even told her to be ready. If its the renter he could have told her the plan when he was there two weeks ago. Did the abductor tell her to take her blanket since they would be going on a special 'trip'? I think its very likely.

Maybe the perpetrator knew how attached she was to this blanket. Pedophiles can be very charming and can come across as very sweet and caring when it comes to their targeted victim. It may not even be the renter but someone else the family knows as an acquaintance who had befriended them and Diana.

I forgot to quote while I was reading through, so sorry.

I think a central air unit could definitely camouflage some noise depending on the location. But it definitely wouldn't cover up any type of struggle (if one happened).

I thought step-dad said he would have heard someone open the door, yet he can also be a heavy sleeper.

If someone came in to take her around 4:30 at the latest and the stove was on at 7 am and hadn't caused a fire (if there was a pan of oil present), I don't think it was whoever took her. Unless her abductor spent a large amount of time in the house. I would think they'd want to be in and out in a hurry. Would a roommate or bio parent feel safe enough to spend 2+ hours in the home before taking Diana? That just seems incredibly risky. In a house with that many people and especially that many little ones, you'd never know who was going to wake up for a bathroom trip or a child stirring due to a bad dream.

I think Diana's parents were likely pretty naive about what Diana might have been doing. I know what my 9 year old daughter and her friends talk about. Luckily, she still feels like she can talk to me about things, but I know that's not the case with other kids her age and I know I probably won't have it this easy forever.

I wonder if Diana was upset with her parents for any reason that night? Maybe mad she had to leave the birthday party early? The shoes missing makes me think she walked out on her own terms or she was comfortable with whoever was taking her.

Side note---- in all the videos you see a whole lot of swatting at mosquitos and bugs and wiping of sweat and waving of a hand to cool off. I relate so much. This deep south thing is BRUTAL!!!

OT
I lived in Miami in the late 80s. I don't really remember the heat. But oh man I remember the frigid cold. However my parents left Miami for Canada. Now I know what cold is😂😂😂😂

I know there has not been any kind of confirmation on this but I wonder if there is a door on the screened in porch. If so maybe it is kept locked and Family feels they don't need to lock inside door???? Just a thought.

my 8 year old step son wraps himself in his blanket every morning when we leave for school and stays wrapped in it the whole way, even when he has a hoodie on. maybe she does similar things?

Or someone wants you to think that she did. Missing blanket is a huge problem for me.

Anddddd, I will leave it at that.

Authorities: No evidence Diana Alvares is still in the area

--snip--

The Lee County Sheriff's Office said this morning that they have no evidence that Diana Alvares is still in the area.
The sheriff's office closed its staging area near the Sheltering Pines mobile home park in San Carlos where Alvares lived. She disappeared from her home sometime Sunday morning.

"After a massive and exhaustive search in a several mile radius around Diana Alvares’ home it has been determined that there is no evidence to suggest that she is in the area," a press release from the sheriff's office said mid-morning Wednesday. "Leads coming in from concerned citizens and other investigative avenues are actively being pursued and at this point we cannot comment on them."

Closing the staging area doesn't mean the search for the girl has ended.
"Our investigative teams remain in the field, and will leave no stone un-turned in the aggressive investigation into Diana’s disappearance,' the release said.

Imo, Diana isn't in the area and has long been gone. They aren't going to find her in this area, imo.

Earlier I had mentioned the case of a girl abducted from her bedroom in Australia. Her name was Chloe Campbell. She was found 3 days later alive, iirc it had been a ploy to scare her dad or something like that, who iirc, was into drugs.

"The window was open and her blanket and teddy bear, a grey blanket and a blue teddy bear, has been taken with her.'

That's also what the stepdad said in the video. That he doesn't think she is around there, not in Ft. Myers.
I'm still guessing she's within a 22 mile radius, jmo, pure speculation. Moo.

I am still stuck on the roommate. Did he take her for his own reasons? Or someone else's? IMO presently

  • #716
What about any of the stepdad's landscaping associates? Did any of them ever come to house for dinner or anything (his wife cooked)...have any of them not showed up for work? Not pointing any fingers of course, just trying to think of who would have been close enough to know about Diana, and where she slept, etc (other than the roommate).

Wish we knew more about the party.

Very high on my suspect list, IMO, in addition to possible neighbors (younger and older), as well as RSOs.

I hate to be a pain, but does anyone please have a link to the radio station interview from inside the house that is not from a mobile device? I am having a very difficult time opening up the links. Thanks.

  • #719
Seems Diana had a secret Facebook account. Was she communicating with the roommate? that will be easy to trace for the LE.

When my daughter was that age she used to walk around the house with a blanket around her. Especially in the morning.

The burners were not on when Mom made a bottle at 2 am. So wondering if Diana got up to start breakfast, saw her 'friend' outside the window...and was lured outside to use his phone...
Not sure if anyone mentioned, when I was pregnant, each time I had terrible brain fog. Could mom have left burner on after making a bottle? Then forgot. Perhaps they left pan on stove , maybe mom lit wrong burner and only turned off the one used to heat bottle?
