If Ron has an extra vehicle it doesn't mean jack if she doesn't have a licence. If she wanted to discard the body and if she wanted to cover something up and was hell bent on doing that then what makes you think she wouldn't just jump into a vehicle and drive off in it? It could definelty be done. This girl I know used to drive her moms car from her house and into town(and I know b/c rode with her once) 5 minutes away before she even got her licence. The town I live in is small so you could easily get away with it. I would have been like young back then.

very true. i wonder if she borrowed her brother's van or if he was with her.

  • #302
No. It isn't clear actually. She was talking about 3 different events, but inserting them out of order of when they happened.
So we really DON'T know which van she was talking about do we?:confused::confused: YIKES!!

In families where sexual abuse has gone on for generations (not saying it has in Misti's as I don't know) it is not uncommon for victims to be around their abusers for years, and then to bring their kids around too. It is part of the cycle, and what is considered normal in that family dynamic. Don't say anything, don't rock the boat, he didn't mean it, he was drunk, it was your fault, it will kill grandma. The list goes on.

It really takes someone breaking that cycle and saying no these people will not have access to my children. It is difficult to do because you frequently lose the rest of the family too, not just the abuser. It makes sense since they were the same family members that didn't want to rock the boat to deal with the issue in the first place, they aren't going to take heat to see you.

Thanks redhead, that is so sad. Thankfully I have no experience with this. But I can see your point. What a sad world we live in when people won't toss a SO out of a family to save the children.

She sure makes it hard. That has been one of my problems along. The changing stories.

I may end up being wrong but I don't think Misty was in the home the entire night. I think she has had to fill in some time frames and this is why things keep changing. I also have to wonder if she let someone in, or had let someone into the home in the past that Ron does not know about. IMO she knows more than she is telling, maybe not because she did anything herself but becasue she of what she didn't do is why Haleigh is missing.

Here is my thought..
I think she was there the entire time. I think that when asked about the events, she would have inserted something about what they were watching on TV that night, if they did homework before she put them down to bed, what they ate, or what time they had dinner. Everything in Misty's statement started at 8pm, yet she had family over until 5:30 ish..so what happened in between those times?

LOL Egads! I give up on the blanket. This case is so messed up already and LE's lack of cooperation with us is driving me crazy. I cannot wait until they toss a bone to at least gnaw on here!! Sheesh! WTH?
YES! It would be helpful if LE were being more cooperative with us. Don't they know they're killin' us here?!

I thought that dad picked her up. Or did he pick her up at the bus stop and bring her home?

yeah, bus stop. must be kind of far for a 5 year old to walk. especially in that neighborhood.

haven't heard anything about it. but.....

she has no job and was previously homeless. ron could have more than one vehicle. but....

i heard that you can't get a drivers license in florida (if you drop out of highschool and don't get your GED) until you are 21. misty doesn't have her GED.

There is NO requirement about having a HS diploma or GED to get a FL drivers license. Though, it can be suspended, if students are truant.

imo...

Misty was out to lunch.

She either was not home when Haleigh was taken...

or... she was high as a kite when she went to bed and can't remember where she fell asleep.

or... she knows who did it and is covering up for them.

And I think she is mostly scared that Ron doesn't kill her with his gun. She is no stranger to domestic violence.

I would look at the brother first.

Oh, and I would stay away from the pastor of the baptist church. He's Kyle Johns' father.

Bolded by me.

Oh my! Do we know that this is the same John's family that is related to the one of these people. I foget which side now. Having trouble keeping all of the names connected and in order.

Is it possible Misty is afraid of her brother, and doesnt want to tell on him?
Could she be afraid that if Ron finds out, not only will Ron do something to her brother, her entire family will not like Ron much anymore.
And, finally, Ron will not want Misty anymore if someone in her family did it.
Note she hasn't said anything such as "this afternoon, my brother, timmy/tommy and his friend fred, bob, or whatever came over with the kids....

That makes perfect sense, redhead. I would never have thought that, I just don't have a frame of reference (not that you do, I just don't seem to be able to think out of the box).

Someone scopes out the house for a while, sees what goes on with the family. Dad's hours for work. Misty home with the children. Or is closely related to them, friends with them or has befriended lonely Misty that is there with children alone for many hours every night Ron works

Possibly knows Misty leaving to do... uhh otherwise, take smoke breaks or general schedule that would take her attention away from the house.

They decide that night is the night to go ahead with their plan, They open the back screen door and prop it open with the cynderblock as to make it easier to get out with child they sneak in front door that is unlocked when no adult is looking paying, attention or at home? They hide out in the house until everyone is asleep. Unlock and open the back door from the inside. They turn the light on and get a feel for whether or not it's going to wake someone, maybe Haleigh gets up they grab her(if they know Haleigh it would be easier to get her to go with them, maybe she trusted them), or maybe they sneak in room and take Haleigh out of the bed. If it was really dark in the house they would have had to turn on the light to get to her??? They don't turn it off when leaving just head out the door.
Added a few more things I was thinking about

Impatientredhead, I meant to quote your post. Very insightful, and I agree with what you think

i think LE might be, and hopefully they are, building a case and trying to find the body before they make an arrest and lawyers start lining up to defend whomever for free. LE wants to build a solid case first and keep the person/persons talking as much as they can.

Is anyone watching NG? There is no thread started on Caylee's forum so I assumed she wasn't covering her tonight.

Please help, I have my 3 boys in the bath and I can't leave them to watch TV, they'll drown each other!!!

I've thought that she was probably out but it never occurred to me that she was out all night. You could be right. It would make sense. Has anyone ever said where these two blankets WERE when the police showed up? These two blankets that needed to be washed? Was there one on each bed or whatever it was that her story ended up to be?
