what are the odds that she would be wearing that shirt 8 days later anyway?

are they trying to make the guilty party sweat?

hoping they try to make a run for it?

nothing would look more guilty than that.....

JG, this would be IMO the other likely point of entry--besides intruder w a key to front door that is. And the more I've rethought and tried putting myself into head of a home invader, the more I think they absolutely would turn on a light. Afterall, which is riskier or apt to disturb someone asleep: a light from the hallway or adjacent room... or the sound of intruder crashing into objects, groping or stumbling his way around trying to find and escape w child in same room w sleeping caregiver? JMO

More than likely, the shirt she described Haleigh as last wearing was found, inside trailer, van, outbuilding or elsewhere on property. OR at brother's? So much for the one descriptive they had... JMO

:parrot:

But, as an intruder, would you leave the light on? If I were an intruder, I agree with you about turning the light on vs. stumbling over objects, I would put the light on long enough for me to get my bearings as to where things are, then I would turn the light back off. Just a thought.

I think the shirt is the 'item of interest' they found in the woods. Because if its not and say, the found the shirt at the bottom of the laundry basket - Misty is dumber than we all thought.

I just have a hard time believing someone who is going to murder (accidental or otherwise) somebody else and TRY to get away with it, can be this stupid. If they DID find the shirt at the house, Misty is dumber than I thought. JMO

it was in the van that they 'took'

So, if the 'word' on the street is correct and Misty was not around for three days and Ron C went and found her, brought her home did she wait for Ron to go to work and call up a couple of her friends to come back over and decieded she would rather go party some more and took the kids with her. That might explain the whole deal with blankets being left in the van.
Now how we get from blankets being left in a van to Haleigh missing I'm not sure.
She brought somone home with her and they took her
She was followed and they saw an oppertunity to take Haleigh

Grrr not enough information to form any good working theory.

Wow, that's a ways from there house, many streets away from where the dogs tracked

I haven't reasearched the area, MeoW333. Does this mean that the reported last sighting (per Misty) is in question?

  • #346
I think that is what they found in the woods.

it might be, but they did say that the evidence they found on the search turned out to be nothing or unrelated. i guess they could have lied, but could the defense in the trial hold it against them that they lied? wouldn't that hurt their investigation?

ITA, I do not think she bathed and dressed the child for bed like people on this board would do.......I think she was just there with the child, but definately not a motherly figure if you know what I mean. Wonder if that poor baby got to eat dinner that night.

Has there been any mention of JR being returned to his dad after his visit this weekend with his mother? Do we know who is caring for him since this last visit? Is he sleeping in the tent with the dad and gf? I am sure DFCS has been contacted since Haleigh has been missing and if they have an open case on them, we need to watch and keep up with who has Jr.

Reading your post just gave me a light bulb moment. Just suppose for a minute that someone on the maternal side kidnapped Haleigh, purposely left the boy. Then the boy goes to stay with mom while the search for sis is going on. Now the mom has a case against the dad for child neglect. The girl is found safe. They all go to court & the judge gives the children back to the mom. No more child support payments on her part. Problem(s) solved. What do you think? jmho, of course.

Okay I'm still sticking to my tenative theory that Lil' Missy is somehow involved with Haleigh's disappearance. Either directly or unwittingly. I've got a slant every so slight towards directly now but it can change back to unwittingly.

Here are the reasons why for this afternoon, because I've posted a lot on why I have my eye on her for now.

She didn't call 911 until Ronnie pulled into the driveway and told her to do so. (Yes, I've seen the explanations as to why she might have done that, but it still stinks to me)

She washed two blankets the night Haleigh went missing, it was a long and drawn out story on video about those blankets (yes, i know we've explored the innocent explanations for this behavior but I'm looking at what's adding up for now in my own mind)

She gets up in the middle of the night to go pee/get a drink and finds the back door wide open. She says she goes to check on the children (good deal in my book). But, She doesn't call family (that we know of) or 911. Not only is the back door wide open but the screendoor is propped open with a cinderblock (brick in her 911 call).

Her involvement is the most straight forward logical explanation for me. I am not discounting anyone else's theories because we just don't have enough facts.

Good post however we don't know how much time elasped between when Misty woke up and Ron came home. She said she woke up a 3 something, not exactly 3. I think if we could find out the exact time frame that would help a-lot.

Not sure if being the type of person that Misty appears to be that her not calling 911 or a family member is out of the question. She seems very slow and not able to panic.

It sure would be nice if we could see/hear her statements instead of depending on the press to get the story straight.

IMO the timeline for this disappearance needs to start the last time anyone other than Misty saw Haleigh alive.

You would think they definitely have a conspiracy not to tell us important things!! :banghead: Don't they know we are spoiled from the "other" case?!

1) If the shirt was IDed by people who saw her wearing it that day, it would not have supported either way if she was or was not still wearing it when she went missing...no reason to change the Alert.

2) If someone in the home finally told them she was not wearing it after being confronted by LE finding it inside the house...reason to change the Alert.

3) If they found it during one of the searches outside and waited on DNA to confirm it was the shirt Haleigh had worn...reason to change the Alert.

I'm going with 2 or 3. 1 could apply though if Misty denied recognizing the pink shirt.

Wonder if they would've changed the alert if after they interviewed Missy again she either admitted to not knowing what Haleigh was wearing or some facts came out in the course of that interview that lead them to believe that Haliegh wasn't wearing any of the items of clothing that Misty has said so far?

Wouldn't RC have known what color shirt Haleigh was wearing when he picked her up from the school bus? I know Misti was the last one to see her, but I'd bet the detectives asked them both what they last saw her wearing? So as of now, neither one of them can remember?

The timing of the shirt announcement is curious though, because the agents were back at the house yesterday.

I have not heard, but legally Rj was to be returned to his father on Sunday by 6:00pm. Rj had been staying with Ronnie's mother, TN, and not in the tent.

Thank you SS!!

I tend to think this could be the reason Tim & his crew left. Maybe the shirt wasn't even found in the woods...maybe it was found in the water.:waitasec:

I agree
I also think Misty is in trouble
I also wonder where her parents are
I also wonder where Haleigh is
I wonder what type of work exactly did Ron do, was he under constant supervision, and did it involve concrete

Ron operates a crane and the company he works for pre-fabricates things used to build bridges.

I've wondered from the beginning where Misty's parents were. There's no sign of either parent there to support their daughter, or show concern for the lost 5-year-old their daughter was taking care of.

Bolded by me

It's been the Hermit's Cove location...that did not change.

ETA...that's the name of the trailer park isn't it?
