in regards to the gf. I want to share this story first: My little sister was at my house - I say 'little' but she's 19yo - and it was early morning. I had to take my husband to work bc we only had one car and I needed it. Well, I woke my sister up and told her to listen for my baby - because she might wake up. But at that point, she wasn't awake and I'd be gone maybe 20 minutes. So I leave and she's awake. When I get home, she's passed smooth out and my baby is in her crib awake. I was so angry - because I did just walk in the house, past my sleeping sister who didn't budge when the door was open or when I walked by and I walked to my baby and was able to pick her up and everything. I locked the door when I left but that just wasn't the point. I was upset. Regardless - I do believe that if that 17yo girl isn't... a mother or have a 'mommy' mind and is a heavy sleeper then it's entirely possible she slept through an abduction.

ON the other hand, in interviews I too notice contempt in the fathers voice when talking about the gf. In the uncut interview when asked about his son, he says that his son was fine, 'imagine that." I don't know if he just meant 'imagine that' because they were both in the same bed and instead of taking both they just took one OR maybe the gf favored the boy. Also in the NG interview, NG asked him when they called 911 or why didn't his gf call 911 and he said something like "she tried to call me and I pulled in the driveway. I asked her why she was calling me, not 911!" - which is a very good question. Even my 5yo knows to call 911 in an emergency.
I'm a little suspect of the girlfriend.

You can go to fox news for greta site. She has not did a walk though yet.
But in theses case she usually does. I so want to see the inside of that home.

Hi Melly,

I am glad that you pointed that out. I know people say they call their kids 'brats', Heck there was even a doll line. She professes her love to EVERYONE on that page and calls the children that she does not have custody of... Brats....imo she was more emotional during the earlier interviews, during the Greta interview she was medicated, her mom took over that interview.But, it still just bugs me.

I'm very new to this case (just late last night) & what stands out to me is the mom's "brats" comment, the conflicting reports re: who exactly went to the bathroom, waiting to call 911, the open back door, & the dogs scent to the water..I haven't read too many posts but I bet it's the same for most everyone here?

The mother was rocking back&forth in her chair during the more then 5 mins on Greta..If she was medicated it didn't seem to me it was working well or something else is up with her..The father reminded me so much of Mark Lungsford who I admit I thought for sure was lying & guilty as sin..I turned out to be dead (no pun) wrong & I hope I am now too.

I don't know much about the maternal family background other then the same last name for gm & boyfriend..It does sound like step-sibs which I do know something about cos on my hubby's side 2 step-sibs (since childhood) married..Many of us thought it a bit odd but 20 years & 3 kids later they're still one of the happiest couples I know.

I truly hope they find the little girl with the name that rhymes with Caylee (how odd we also hear about the amber alert during her memorial) but I do fear the worst

In this link the mother admits the girl has wandered off before and was found in a canal.
"It wasn’t like she wandered out. I mean, we were getting ready to leave. I told her father to get her and put her in the car. I had already put Junior, the baby, in the car. I went back in to get the bags and the baby's stuff. I come out, Haleigh was not in the car, and I ran straight down to the canal, and that's where she was," Sheffield said.

Today it was stated that they will focus on the canal.

Hi blubuni- I think you make an exellent point regarding the girlfriend and sleeping. If she is a heavey sleeper- she could have walked into the bathroom in a 'fog like' state. I am not a heavy sleeper, it's the opposite. The morning of Caylee's Memorial i got up and walked smack into the door frame-Wack- didn't even see the door. Point being, she may not have been paying attention when she woke up....bathroom...back...where is Haleigh?... the SOB could have come in then from 10:30/11pm-@3am. Oh God i hope they have some good leads today and someone finds her fast!

ETA: One thing that i would like to find out is how long have the gf and dad been dating? i have heard anywhere from 3-6 months. Don't know if it matters...but, maybe someone that knows gf? And i still want to find out Who rented the home before this family? I'm sure(hope) LE has this information and checked it out. Sorry to babel/rant, this is just SOOO wrong that these innocent babies keep getting harmed. And quite frankly, am embarrassed that i never realized it before Caylee. Did not pay atttn to the Sheer numbers. This has got to stop!

But I heard from (her dad?) last night she now has a really bad fear of the water cos she fell in & had to be resusitated..She hasn't gone near any water since that day.

ETA..That doesn't mean she wasn't taken to the canal by the one who kidnapped her & then killed her?

Tonia, thanks for the link. Last night either on JVM or NG, there was discussion about Haleigh being afraid of water and IIRC (this is just from listening to the broadcast I might be wrong) Haleigh had had an incident in the water before. It was said that she had been found in the canal and required resucitation. I'll go look for a link or if someone knows offhand what was said please post it.

I find that concerning because Haleigh appears not to have been supervised well.

I know that accidents happen. I do. But let's look at the whole picture. If this account is factual (I'm not saying it is) then we have somewhat of a concern in that there might have been the incident above, CPS has been called in prior (for unknown reasons) and now this child disappears off the face of the earth. I'm just saying. It concerns me if all of this is factual.

Aside from that, sociopaths can supposedly pass lie detector tests.
I'm wondering what questions they asked the gf. I hope they asked her if she left the children alone in the house at any point that night.

Good point Kat! I to heard about her fear of the water and that story. Just weighing all options i guess,worried for this baby.

It can be done. They are not 100% reliable and that is why they are usually not admissable in court

2 questions:

Has the father been on Today show yet?

If a lie detector isn't always accurate, wouldn't you be scared to take it, if your child went missing, for fear of failing .. thereby becoming a suspect?
