The bio mom in my opinion is just trying to throw the dad under the bus. Did the bio mom mention her drug conviction or substance abuse problem with regard to custody? Also in most states kindie is not even required, not sure they can put you in jail if your child misses x number of days from kindie. I realize past kindie its a different story.

what is kinde?

When my daughter was born she had some medical problem which caused me to get VERY little sleep. My other child was two and I fell into a deep sleep and he climbed out of his window into the back yard and I didn't know. When I woke up, I didn't know how long it had been and he was just gone. I never imagined he would unlock the window and climb out and I was insane frantic. I ran outside screaming bloody murder and was totally embarrassed when I found him in the back yard in front of everyone up and down the block. He was missing under 10 minutes. It seemed like an eternity. I can't say that I wouldn't use the same language if in his position.
I understand what you're saying, and maybe it's just me. :) About your child climbing out the window, I'm also wondering if it's possible the g/f propped the door open for a smoke break and Haleigh walked out on her own sometime during the night. I'd like to know whether the g/f usually smoked inside the house or outside.

Dad and gf are smokers, saw them on NG. They are living in a tent while house is a crime scene. Didn't hear or see any dogs.
I would love to know what LE saw when they arrived at house.
Was she in pj's, was the bed messed up, her hair, make up..........
other baby well cared for? sleeping? lots of questions yet!

An't that the truth passion...Way to many questions...yet
I'm sorry, if it's illegal for someone his age to be with a gf her age, how are the police allowing THEM to reside in a tent right next to the house together?
She could be an emancipated minor.

Thanks Em

also wondering if there is any record of haleigh missing school, or was this just something that the mom said? my nephew is in kindergarden and i know here in louisiana they do keep strict records and send notices to parents if kids have more than 5 unexcused absences. does anyone know the laws in florids?

I don't know the laws, but I can tell you that I have the DISTINCT impression that it is the M.O. of bio mom and g'ma to make dad look like an incompetent 🤬🤬🤬. JMO, of course.

At this point IMO it's (the age issue) probably moot, but I imagine LE sure would be interested in seeing how they interact with each other.

Sorry I am very new here and do not know how to link yet... The reporter that interviewed the mom today was on JVM and this was the info she gave. I am sure there is a transcript somewhere at HLN,,, sorry

Maybe she's an emancipated minor. I haven't heard anything about her parents.

You are so right. We have a trailer as a camp and we could never sneak into the back door (dead bolt too).........maybe the slider.

talking head thinks that gf did leave the house for awhile and is lying because she is afraid to tell. OR she had 'company' (SO?) and something went wrong.........hmmmmmmm Did I hear her right?

If that's the case, I wish she would just say so, so LE and everyone could move on and quit suspecting her. As irresponsible as it is to leave children alone, it's not as bad as being suspected of foul play. Teenagers never think anything bad is going to happen by sneaking out of the house.

would it then make it legal for someone his age to 'sleep' with someone her age? i'm not sure about that.
I realize that it shouldn't be a factor here, I'm just a mom of an 18 yr old and I would not be quite pleased if she was with someone about 25 or so. At that age, still so much to learn & grow.
Guess that's kinda o/t to a point.

I guess LE would be more interested in their fights, discussions or other things together at the moment.

She was ordered to.

Hm. Several past cases of murdered children involved a non-custodial parent who no longer wanted to pay child support...

it isn't illegal, 17-24 is within the age of consent range for Florida

Regarding pile of cinder blocks (if it hasn't already been answered)

If a mobile home had been pulled from the community/park, there could very well be a pile of cinder blocks. The blocks are left in the empty space, waiting to be reused as a 'foundation' for the next home placed in the lot.

Does anyone else wonder if girlfriend was in school that Monday?

Or am I to assume she was not enrolled?

I know that I am new here but I just can't bite my tongue any longer.

Maybe many of you have grown up in a perfect world with perfect parents who supported you in most everything you do. I don't think this young woman had that perfect world.

Do we know if she has gotten her GED? Do we know why at 17 she isn't living with her parents? Do we no if she is a mature 17 or maybe mature beyond her years?

In the not so perfect world maybe where she is living right now is better for her than her parents. I have seen too many young people with unstable parents not able to finish high school or unable to handle highschool. However I hire many of these young people, lost souls is what I call them, and many times they do a better job for me than some of the older people. Right now I have a 17 year old male who just moved out of his unstable home and is much better for it. He has gotten his GED.

How is a 17 year old suppose to act? It appears that everyone is questioning her except LE who has cleared her. How would you act reading the things we have about her? I wouldn't look into the camera either. In fact I wouldn't know how to handle it. Maybe she is hiding something, maybe not, but to accuse her to me is unfair.

I am sorry but I work with these young people everyday and have for the past 22 years....I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt.

IMO it appears that all involved are a little unstable to say the least.

Kindergarten is required in Fla. They can even fail it if they are not learning to read fast enough. It is way different than when I was a kid. They are trying to get kids here in Fla into pre-k as a requirement before kindergarten. Hasnt passed yet, but I'm sure it will.

AS far as I know, being emancipated is as good as being 18, legally.

I think we need to make a list of GF's inconsistencies in her spoken-word interviews and 911 call, not adding in media inconsistencies: Just her words.

I was watching her statement on Nancy Grace. Something's really hinky with the GF. She was doing that fake squinty cry talk. All crocodile tears. ALSO...who knows what was going on after the Dad went to work. I think she's too scared to tell the truth. I'm not sure if she's directly involved, but may have been negligent (sp?) in some way. I think the 4 y/o boy may be able to give some clues.

thanks to suziq and others for info!!

glad to hear that they are looking there. made my heart skip a beat when i read it. having 5 nieces and nephews kid cases hit me hard. i always want to make sure they have jusctice for the wrongs committed against them. my oldest nephew's dad tried to poision him when he was a baby and nothing happened with LE on his end, but my nephew was taken from our house and put in foster care. took us 8 months to get him back home and yet dad's still running free.
