I was just reading over at the "Marc Klaas wants to know..." thread and something popped out at me.

As I was listening to gf blather yesterday about blankets I couldn't understand why in the world she would even mention these things. I was thinking: who cares about the blankets? WTF is the child??

What was she saying? She was saying she washed Haleigh's blanket. Think about that for a minute. Why would she feel the need to tell a reporter that she washed Haleigh's blanket?

Could it be that LE was grilling her about the blanket and so felt it relevant?

Why did she wash the blanket? Why JUST the blanket? When kids pee in the bed, the sheets usually take the biggest hit. Did she wash or change the sheets, too?

And why did she feel she needed to talk about HER blanket as being missing? Who cares about her blanket! Unless there is some relevance in it being missing.

Haleigh's blanket was washed.

Misty's blanket was missing. She had to use a blanket normally used as on the window. Supposedly her blanket is in a van that was taken away. Why was her sleeping blanket in somebody's van in the first place??

When Haleigh is found, will she be found with Misty's blanket? And was Haleigh's own blanket washed to hide something that wasn't urine?

I think she started talking about the blankets in avoidance of what the question was "what happened that night" so it was her way of dodging the question, going on a spiel about the blankets

What we know so far....

1. GF puts kids to bed at 8:00
2. GF goes to bed around 10:00 last time she sees both kids
(Haleigh apparently in her own bed but in the same room as GF...this has not been clearified yet)
3. GF wakes up to use bathroom around 3:00
4. GF notices back door open and screen door held open by cinder block
5. Gf looks and sees Haleigh is missing from bed and can not find her
6. Dad gets home around 3:25-3:30
7. Police are called

What I would be looking into....
1. There are at least 44 sex offenders in 5 mile radius of this house.
2. How long has this family lived in this house???? Who lived there before?
**it would seem as though someone had a key to the back door to be able to enter without forced entry
**the cinder block holding the door open seems to indicate someone looking to make a fast exit and having had a planned kidknapping
3. Had there been a sex offender living there before these people moved there??? (possibly noticing this child because they had lived there???)
4. Are there any places in the nearby area to park a car off the side of the road for a quick get away???.....it would be hard to run off for any distance carrying a child. Unless the perp lived close enough by this home to run there with the child.....maybe through the woods, trail near home, etc.

Just some thoughts to get out of my head as to some things I would be looking into....and I am sure the LE are.

Gheez! This is a mess. The dad and GF, if they are involved, NEVER thought the the entire country would descend in their lives and they would have to repeat their stories over and over.....I doubt they watch the local news and I doubt they are even slightly aware of the circus just 70 miles away with poor Caylee.

Anyway, on NG the dad said that when he got home the GF was calling his cell phone and he asked her, why are you calling me why are you not calling the police? But on GV no mention of this...and why on GV does dad cover his microphone and whisper to her to make sure she is looking at the camera??? Dad said that GF tried to call him several times....where has that part of the story gone??? The more they talk, the stranger this gets...:furious::furious:

The 2 of them are young and dumb (not to be condescending just true....I tease my friends about the stupid things I did when I was young and dumb).

I pray for this baby and I pray for a speedy end to this train wreck!

Ok...straighten me out. I've read where it was the GF that got up to use the bathroom and then noticed the door open and the child gone AND I've read where it was the child that got up to use the bathroom. So which is it? Yet more conflicting stories here....

I only heard Misty say that she got up to use the bathroom, not Hayleigh, but with all the stories being tossed out there, she could have said that too. A big mess if you ask me.

I noticed how he kept looking at her out the corner of his eye. Very strange, hanging on her every word. Reminds me of Mr Gerry McCann.

Either he's embarrassed by all her conflicting stories and wants her to get it right to focus on the task at hand, finding his daughter possible abduction by an SO, or he's in cahoots with the gf.
In the one interview he was saying not to blame the gf, it's not about a custody battle, etc. Maybe so the public would focus on finding the girl possibly abducted, and bring the attention to looking for her an SO?
I don't understand how he can stand by the gf with all her changing stories..

Does anyone know if Misty's nephews who were playing with Haleigh around 5pm are also their neighbors? If i recall i had read somewhere Haleigh was playing with neighbor's children then, and then it changed to Misty's nephews..

Good morning sleuthers:)

I was out most of the evening last night and this morning there are 3 new threads. I'll never get caught up.

I caught a portion of NG last night. Did anyone else catch that NG didn't seem happy about the GF/Babysitters story?

Her legal experts seemed very reserved last night as well?

Thank you for sharing your opinon with me in advance. I will look at those vids today.

Well, he's got conflicting stories himself. On NG he states that the GF and the kids all in SAME bed. Then on GV she claims they were in different beds and he had to describe for her how far apart they were (rather than continuing with his same bed story). That to me is a blatent lie caught on camera

Look, I think the recent Caylee case has really got people seeing the worst in this situation. It is so much easier to believe the worst than to believe that these people might actually be telling the truth. I find it very hard to believe that they ARE NOT telling the truth. If something happened to Haleigh and they concocted a story to cover it up....don't you think they would come up with something a little more believeable than someone picking the lock on the back door? Seriously. I see the back door being propped open as evidence to what the 17 year old Misti says. An abductor does not want a swinging loud trailer door slamming shut and waking up the people in the house! And an abductor is not going to put a sleeping child in the car and then go back to remove the cinder block and shut a door.

I think this child was taken by someone who knew this family. Someone that knew the dad was at work and someone that knew the goings on of that house. The 17 year old Misti has taken lie detector tests...as has the dad. Just because they may not be educated or have a large bank account and talk rough I feel like people are questioning them.

I am glad LE in Florida has not already jumped to the conclusion that these people are guilty like most of the posters on this board because if that was the case we would never find this missing child. Sorry, just my opinion but I think we should look for this little girl under every stone and behind every door and put the pieces of the abduction together when she is found.

If the gf had kept the same story since the beginning and stuck with it, she wouldn't be questioned so much. It's changed numerous times since then. It's also hard to believe one doesn't notice a child being kidnapped out of the bed next to them, if that's the version that happened, and that's why they're being looked at so much.

I think it is important to remember this young girl is 17. I have a 16 year old son and an 18 year old daughter. My 18 year old daughter(i love her so!)is such an airhead....she can't remember the clothes she put on in the morning and she has them on to look at. God love her she can't help being simple minded, but she is very book smart! I just think we need to reserve our opinion about the girlfriend until after Haleigh is found.

Yep, I saw it, as well. Even the one defense person said that LE needs to
"put the squeeze" on the 17 year old.

I pray you are right...BUT a lot of people are contributing a lot of time, energy and EMOTION...not to mention the expense in this economy. IF they know something or IF they are bending the truth slightly I wish they would come clean. No one is out to get them......Haleigh is all anyone cares about...they all just need to tell the truth and get out the way!!!!

I have to say this again, growing up in FL is not like OH or SC which is where my parents live. Florida is different, there are a variety of people who move down here for many different reasons. The father, who may have sold drugs when he was younger and probably still smokes pot (just speculation) is what us FL folks consider a redneck and I believe him when he says he would kill someone to protect his daughter. He may seem hinky to a lot of folks but rednecks do questionable things some of the time but when it comes to the children there is unconditional love. The G/F I am sure has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. I dated a redneck in High School and his sister had this condition and I became her mentor. She has a lazy eye and if you watch the Greta interview it is quite obvious. One eye is open and looking into the camera and the other is closed a little and sort of wandering. Also from this experience if G/F has FAS she will have a low IQ and not able to speak well or even understand questions.(like when she said 3 inches instead of 3 feet) that is part of it. As far as sleeping arrangements go, I am sure if they were all sleeping with her which is common, since there is a custody issue they didn't want people to know. I remember my mom being mortified that my kids would crawl in bed at night with me until they were 5 or 6 yet alone if you were not the kids mother. I don't think this is a copycat of Caylee. The raw emotion from the father on the 911 tape is one that I know about being involved with a home invasion. You are in such a state of shock, unlike KC who was calm and calculating, the father was behaving like most crime victims act when everything that is happening is out of his control! SO abduction is my vote, I hope equasearch can find this poor little girl.

Has her story changed or is it being told differently by different reporters. I have been following this thread since it opened and I was looking for stories on the internet for Haleigh before anyone was really paying attention. The girlfriend has always said Haleigh was sleeping in the same room with her...buy in a different bed. When Nancy Grace was interviewing the bio mom and grandma last night I was screaming at the tv because the mom was stating she had been told 3 different stories....maybe she had been told 3 different stories but not by the girlfriend herself. And even the bio mom said she can't remember who told her the stories.

I don't know I just tend to reserve judgement...this dad is in pain and he might be different than you and I and he may handle things different than you or I but....

If she didn't know exactly what happened that night, she should have just told the truth, not 3 different versions. We still don't know what happened..
No one would ream her for telling the truth or "i don't know". Instead she makes up different versions and declares her innocence

Gut feeling is this could be a staged abduction - they've seen the notoriety that Caylee/Casey got and decided to jump in on the media frenzy and become famous and RICH

Jane! I hadn't even thought of that or read it, yet, haha. Dang. That would be something. :waitasec:

elle1919, I agree. I don't think these 2 had anything to do with this. I can't ignore the 44 SO's that are in a 5 mile radius of this home. I think the reporters may have confused things in the beginning trying to get the story out. I think the g/f and father are stressed, tired and trying to keep haleighs name out there. I don't know who said it here but I agree that they should also look into the previous renter/owner of this trailer. IIRC, I remember him saying they didn't live there long. That deadbolt could have been the previous owners. This sex offender could have come in the front and out the back who knows. Anyway, I'm keeping my mind open on this one.

I keep thinking the same things about my 17 year old neice, but this girl hasn't even been misquoted by the media....she's given sooo many contradicting stories. I, too, think she's scared poopless of this guy and just doesn't know what to do and how to get out of it. On the other hand, I don't feel she did anything to Haleigh, per se, but it feels like she DEFINITELY knows much more than she's saying. Now with the boyfriend always by her side, telling her what to do/say, just seems suspicious. ALTHOUGH, "looking" suspicious in my mind, doesn't mean guilt. IMO
