<respectfully snipped> I recall reading somewhere (maybe the obit?) that Anna had attended three different high schools. I thought this was strange and wondered why. Perhaps Anna did move out of one home and chose to live elsewhere while she finished high school.
Well, who knows? There have been differing versions of the obituaries. Note the change in mother’s names.

still confused about the room set up, and lord knows we can't trust msm reporting sometimes!
I'm thinking that not seeing her at breakfast could have been dismissed as: still in bed, got up early and we missed her, etc.
Remember, it was the maid who found her and not family. Of course, family wouldn't look under beds! Maybe the housekeeper's vac hit some of the life vests and then Anna was found.

I find it strange that the parents have made statements that they did not know anything at all about Anna's death and at the same time her step-mom is asking for a delay in the court hearing because one of her minor children may be criminally charged.

AI says that Carnival Horizon has a Family Harbor Suite, which sleeps up to 5 guests and includes a separate sleeping area for children. Alternatively, you can book a Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom. SOURCE

Family Harbor staterooms are located near the Family Harbor Lounge, an exclusive spot featuring breakfast in the morning, snacks throughout the day, plus activities like board games, family movies, video games and more.

Just found a video of the Family Harbor Stateroom that sleeps 5. Here's a SS of the sleeping area. Full short video at the bottom of this post. You can see 2of the beds in this pic. The couch on the left pulls out into a bed. A king-size bed is to the right of the stripped curtain. I'm thinking someone could sleep on that couch. The woman narrating said the couch was pulled out into a bed, so don't think she was talking about the couch on the left. Although... that doesn't sound right to me. I can't see a couch being below a top bunk. Due to that I don't think the couch was pulled out in this image. JMO!

It let me access it just fine. Earlier a DM.UK article blocked me. So... I think you're safe with the link you provided.

And honestly... after looking at the pics of Carnival Horizon Staterooms... the beds don't look like there's a lot of clearance under them. She must have been stuffed tight under there. And after looking at the 3 beds in my post above... it seems like she would have been stuffed under the parents king size bed. JMO

I could read it with no problem. So 11:17 was the time she was found, not the time is death. I wonder if the autopsy will have a more accurate time of death, since it took time for the coroner to get her?

So now we have another teen brother. I was not aware that two teen brothers were on the cruise. At least this article clarifies that Anna and two teen brothers were in a separate cabin from the parents.

Given that Anna's father and stepmother apparently hadn't been together very long, and therefore it's very possible that the same applies to their children, maybe TH was instantly attracted to Anna. That doesn't make him an incestuous monster IMO. He maybe is just an immature lad who found himself in a difficult situation. If Anna was friendly to him, as she probably was, that being her nature, he may have misinterpreted it. And it went downhill from there.

This poor maid, going about the usual monotonous and sometimes distasteful job of cleaning room after room, is going to need some help, IMO.

This had to have been a tremendous shock for her, and I hope her trauma is not overlooked.

"Snipped for brevity"

"She was sharing the cabin with her 14-year-old brother, and 16-year-old stepbrother –with the two boys sleeping in bunk beds and Anna in her own bed, according to a well-placed source."

So the family apparently was not all together. They just assumed that two siblings and a step sibling would be fine in a room. The minor girl (a step sister, correct?) must've been with mom and dad in a room.

No. My research says that those suites sleep 5 which is why I've posted about that.

Yikes.

This reminds me of a case In Illinois where a step daughter wasn’t feeling well, and was presumably attacked and murdered…she was never found.

As a parent, I can’t imagine wanting to delay a divorce to protect my partner and their child from the consequences of murdering my child. Can’t help but wonder if Ana’s dad really agrees with this or if Shauntel is getting ahead of herself. If there is evidence of SA that comes out, which sounds like a strong possibility, I can’t see how a father would agree to further delays.
Somehow I thought SA was a given in this case.

I hope they did a rape test to make sure a guilty relative didn't kill her and hide her under the bed.

If your child feels sick, after dinner dont you go check on her, before bed to make sure she is well? than see her in the morning as well? I dont understand how they didnt see her, well her father.

They may have stayed up/out late. And assumed she was asleep. She's 18, and the family dynamic has a lot of moving parts/overlap. She may have been the one they least needed to worry about. I don't fault them until there's a reason to really fault them.
