This one wanted a daughter. The baby is in stable condition in a hospital.

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Investigators said a man intentionally dropped his infant son head first onto the concrete during a fight with his wife.

Police said the scariest part of this incident is that the suspect in this case showed no remorse and no care for his son's well being.

Some people are just jerks about not wanting a certain sex of children... I know this from personal experience. Bottom line: doesn't matter what sex a baby is... they are very precious little gifts that should be cherished to the utmost high.

But like was pointed out earlier: in places like China and India, the culture of not wanting a girl is rich. You can even look at Japan: poor Princess Masako gave birth to a girl in 2001 and you would have thought she had given birth to a disease with how it was reported over and over that she had not produced a male heir to the imperial seat, but had a girl. (Only males can take the seat in Japan...). The male based monarchies are notorious for putting much stress on women to bare males... look at Henry the VIII... one of the main reasons he went through so many wives was because he wanted to produce a male heir to the throne, and when a wife failed it was seen has HER fault. Mind you, science has shown that sperm is the predominate key to determining the sex of a baby... (though recent studies also show that the egg can have a small factor in determining it, as well. But mostly it is on the men to make those male babies...)

You're right. I have personal experience with that as well. My ex had a little girl with a girlfriend (before I met him). He signed adoption papers when he Mom got married so he wouldn't have to pay support. We had a son together and he fought everything about custody, visitation and support. I asked him why fight me when he didn't fight the girlfriend. His answer: Because he's a boy - he's my son.
