I can not believe there are people who would donate to such a cause without first reading up on the facts. So now all of these crazy "moms" will be getting these kind of websites, I bet. Wow, These people must feel so bad right now nowing they helped get a child killer out of jail.
at first i was sorta shocked. then i thought about those women who write to serial kilers and stuff. i dont why any thing should shock us anymore.

Hester Mofet, I know you weren't advocating for this monster when you wrote that. But for the record, I think many of us could say "Been there, done that, never harmed a child because of it". There is no excuse for it, and I don't care what the situation is there is nothing a child can do to provoke such abuse.

No, I wasn't advocating for her at all. I was explaining what was likely the situation. I know most people who have been through trying times would never hurt a child. I also know that people have different coping skills. I think this woman has likely been a mess for a long time and people/family just kept hoping for the best for her -- because, as you stated, so many people have come through things like this and done well. She deserves all the jail time she can get.

I just looked at the site and don't know if wording has changed, but they're blaming everything on the husband. She needs to go to jail immediately after her complete histerectomy.

it read that way to me as well. too bad the doctor says it happened when she was alone with the child and the father was working.

She also said that, it was listed in the probable cause..she was alone with the child with EACH incident and admits so, BIOTCH! The dad was suspicious and questioned her and she blamed the daycare, the day switched daycares. Another reason why she didn't take her to the hospital for so long the time Cheyenne was cut and lost so much blood, she was afraid the often occurrences would raise eyebrows...too late! So very sad, and it makes me so angry.

A fool and their money...we shouldn't be surprised.

RR,

I didn't read this thread until today. WTF is wrong with these people? Bonding out someone like that is insane!!!! She probably has her own fan club just like Scott Peterson.

I think that the DHS system needs a major overhaul. Too many children slip through the cracks while others are being investigated for nothing. I know, it happened to me. I was investigated because my neighbor didn't like me, so she called DHS. I filed a complaint with the police for false reporting and was told I was wrong for doing that. My children were in no way ever neglected or abused. Of course, they might think that being grounded is abuse, but I digress.

I read the story and her excuse is that the boyfriend abused her and the child. Why is it everytime a woman does something, they blame it on a man? As others have posted, she was alone with the child, she told her sister what she did. It was not the man's fault. If she did it, she can take responsibility for it!

this is 1 part that really ticked me off on the web site.
On the morning of December 20th 2006 Holli found 4 year old Cheyenne unconscious and not breathing. Cheyenne was rushed to the Peace River Medical Center where she was pronounced dead on arrival. The Doctors there say it was most likely from her falling a couple days before and a slow bleeding in her brain had just run out of room. It had no where else to go, so it caused her skull to crack and as a result she died

now i read this as she is saying that the bleeding on the brain caused so much pressure it actually broke the bone that forms the back of her skull. are you kidding me? people read this and bought the story... the 4yr old had a slow bleed in the brain that built enough pressure to fracture her skull.....

no what they read was a woman was abused by the mean bad man and he hurt the kid more than likely. yes some men are evil, they beat their wives and kids. men do not hold the deed to all evil hearts. this woman has 1 imo.

This is nuts. I could understand if it were a question of self-defense or something along those lines but this is just nuts.

And the wave of the future if not nipped in the bud now!

I'm sorry, there is nothing about this that is even remotely funny, but your comment had me picture this tiny child attacking the mom sort of Chuckie like.

The whole blood breaking the skull was just ridiculous especially since a small child will also still have rather softer and less "brittle" bone mass.

Heh....Despite all her rage, she is still just a bat in a cage!

I love that Smashing Pumpkins song "Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage."

Domestic disturbance: On June 2, Kelli Ann Baty, the sister of Holli Baty, who police charged in the homicide of Cheyenne Eairheart, called to report a domestic disturbance at a North Port residence. When police arrived, Baty was not available because, according to the police report, she decided to take a shower after calling police. She later told officers she had been in an argument with her fiance, over e-mails she was sending to another person. The argument was reportedly only verbal, with no evidence of physical abuse.

What a sad story. Many people failed Cheyenne in her short life.

It doesn't bother me that Holli Baty will be out for a while on probation - imo, she is very unlikely to harm another child. It sounds like she was overwhelmed with her responsibilities and snapped and harmed Cheyenne fatally. I don't think she tried to kill Cheyenne intentionally, but she should be punished for what she did.

From what I read, I believe there is enough evidence against her to get a conviction. She will certainly serve many many years in jail.

I can't throw stones at her family members for trying to raise money for her parole. I believe I would do the same thing for my sister unless I thought she was an active danger to society (and if the Judge truly thought Holli Baty was an active danger to society, her bail would have been higher).

I think the Batys are suffering over this tragedy. Are they lying to themselves (and others) about what they perceive to be Holli's role? Maybe. But sometimes coming face to face with the truth takes a while.

Prayers to all the family and for sweet Cheyenne, wherever she may be.

Well now, the first time Man got caught, he blamed it on Woman! ;) Maybe we picked up Adam's way and ran with it.

A woman accused of killing her boyfriend's 4-year-old daughter will soon be out of the Charlotte County Jail, bonded out with funds contributed largely by complete strangers who read about her on the Internet.

Holli Lyn Baty, 25, was arrested Jan. 12, 2007, and charged with first-degree murder and two counts of aggravated child abuse for allegedly hurting Cheyenne Eairheart during life and in ways that contributed to her death. She was held without bond until April 25, when a judge granted her a $550,000 bond. Ten percent of the bond must be paid to get her out of jail.

One of Holli's relatives put up three properties as collateral for the remainder of the bond, while the $55,000 needed to get her released was raised through family, friends and the contributions of strangers who visited a Web site Holli's sister created, www.helpforholli.com.

"Anyone we knew we had already gone to," said Holli's younger sister, Kelli Baty. "Basically, this was the last option."

Cheyenne was found not breathing on Dec. 20 at the Port Charlotte home Holli shared with her boyfriend, Wesley Eairheart, and their son Wesley Jr. Holli was pregnant with twins at the time; the two boys were born March 24, while Holli was in custody. Wesley Jr. and the twins, Caleb James and Gaberial Lee, are now in the care of Wesley Eairheart's parents, Lori and Dave Eairheart.

Holli was arrested because, according to a police report, she abused Cheyenne by taping her eyes shut when she refused to sleep and smearing feces on her face as punishment for soiling herself. Cheyenne was in Holli's care the day of her death and sustained a fractured skull that could not have been self-inflicted, the report said.

Kelli said Holli never hurt Cheyenne. On the Web site, she writes that Cheyenne died as a result of a previous injury -- "The doctors there say it was most likely from her falling a couple days before and a slow bleeding in her brain had just run out of room. It had nowhere else to go, so it caused her skull to crack and as a result she died."

In cases where the victim has increased intracranial pressure from an intracranial bleed, the brain and stem is put under so much pressure that it can even herniate. I've never heard of such a thing that it caused the skull to crack. The crack could have been from the initial fall (or when the injury was inflicted upon the baby as alleged) and then the baby had the bleed and passed away.
